孔望山在市政中心新浦南5公里。孔望山景区以其古代文化荟萃，而享誉国内外。它蕴含着丰富的历史文化内涵，承载着三教文明的博大精深。
[龙洞庵]各位朋友，呈现在我们面前的就是龙洞庵了。龙洞庵最早叫龙兴寺，始建于中唐，距今已有1200多年历史。在宋金交战的年代毁于战火。明代神宗皇帝提倡佛教，龙兴寺又重新修建，后改为尼姑庵，因其西侧有一个龙洞，就改名为龙洞庵了。任过江苏巡抚的林则徐曾两次来此，并在他的诗中对孔望山摩崖造像写下了“千秋孔望谁能企”的赞美。“文革”中龙洞庵也遭受了劫难，塑像砸毁，文物流散，寺庙也拆建为民居。

这儿也有很多石刻。宋人的题刻，多数是乘兴游览题名留念的。明代石刻最为丰富。明代淮安府知府陈文烛写的《孔望山铭》，应该是龙兴山改名孔望山的缘由。王同六言诗刻，最有代表性。清代的刻石以海州知州师亮采的题刻堪称佳作，最为引人，在这石刻荟萃的艺术长廊中漫步，那丰富的精神享受，实在是只可意会而不可言传。

100米处。利用一块突起于地面的原生花岗石，以汉代圆雕方法，凿刻出长约2米，宽约1米的蟾蜍，满身布满鱼鳞状的浅刻的花纹。专家们鉴定它和孔望山摩崖造像的时代相当，距今约有1800余年了。那时孔望山的东边是一片汪洋大海，海水经常泛滥成灾，人们希望蟾蜍这个灵物能够镇住海水，减少灾难。因而一千多年来，人们象神一样崇拜它，仍然希望它给人们带来幸福和吉祥。现在，我们再向上走去看石象。在林木葱绿的山坡上，一尊硕大无比的圆雕石象屹立其间。它是由一块完整的天然巨石雕刻而成的。身高2.6米，身长4.8米。这个石象在这里已经“生活”了近两个世纪。在石象的左前腿的上方凿刻了一个手持铁钩、头戴“T”字形发髻、双脚戴着脚铃的驯象奴。这也是汉画像石中常见的题材。石象四个象蹄下面踏着的四朵仰莲，又给石象罩上了一层浓厚的佛教色彩。[佛教摩崖造像]各位朋友，现在我带领各位去参观孔望山风景区文化含量最高的国家级文保单位----孔望山摩崖造像。
大家可以看到，孔望山摩崖造像凿刻在峭壁之上，整个画面长17米，高约8米，目前尚有108尊造像。造像以两个最大的人物为中心辅以主像、坐像、卧像等几组画面，构成了一个布局讲究错落有致、和谐统一的丰富场面。虽经风雨剥蚀，但其古拙的风格，生动的人物形像，仍跃然于石壁之上。
我们所看到的那稍大于真人的坐像，位于中间，高高在上，正襟危坐，面容丰润安详。这两位高贵的长者就是中国道教中顶礼膜拜的偶像黄帝和老子。我们从画面上看，道教处于主尊的地位，而一些佛
教造像在它的四周展开，这种佛道两教交糅的现象，正是东汉时期的特定产物。
佛教造像的造型艺术有这样几类：一是佛，二是菩萨，三是力士，四是飞天，五是供奉人等。先说西侧三号立像，头上高肉髻，面孔高圆，耳垂特大，眉骨突出，目深鼻高，身穿宽肩大衣，赤足而立，右手施无畏印。这是一个典型的立佛像。旁边有几个画像，有坐有立，有惊有喜，目光都集中坐佛身上，一个讲经说法，传道授经的场面被活灵活现地表现出来。那中间头戴花冠的形象正是“接引菩萨”的形象。而在孔望山造像中恰恰没有飞天的形象。飞天的形象直到隋代才在敦煌壁画中出现，因而更证明了孔望山摩崖造像的久远。
1981年，连云港市博物馆在北京红楼举办了一次孔望山摩崖造像图片展览暨第一次论证会。与会专家一致认定，孔望山摩崖佛教造像是中国迄今为止最早的佛教摩崖造像。比敦煌莫高窟还要早两个世纪。因而它理所当然地被国务院公布为国家级文保单位。

百望山森林公园的基本概况：

[步母石]现在来到步母石景观，大家看到这石阶上有两行脚印您知道这是谁留下的吗？这是当年望儿老母和她孩子留下的脚印，这也是我们回忆一下当初跟母亲学会走路的情景，从而引起我们对母恩的怀念。
[母恩池]我们现在看到的这荡漾在山下的一池碧水叫母恩池，山上流下的川流不息的泉水叫报母泉，这两处虽是人文景观，但却寓意深长，表现母恩浩荡、报答母恩要似水绵长。[母子桥]看这一高一低的两座水泥桥叫母子桥。当年母子俩曾经常在此走过，但当时是破旧的独木桥，现在是经过我们望儿山人重新修建的。
[哺乳轩]现在大家看到顶处那个仿古建筑叫哺乳轩，相传有一年夏天天气非常炎热，而这个亭子里却很凉快，母亲就抱着儿子在这里纳凉喂奶，故取名哺乳轩，游人登山来到此处，在歇脚的同时，也会亿起母恩。
[望儿塔]现在我们来到望儿山顶，这边这个塔叫望儿塔，它建于明末1610年，是后人为纪念这位老母修建的一座藏式青砖塔，远看有如一位老母伫立山颠。塔高8.18米，分塔基、塔座、塔身、塔顶四个主要部分。塔基为八角形，塔座下部为八面，大多施以砖雕花草和云纹，上部为圆形，全是砖雕莲花瓣；塔身似圆形鼓腹的枣核大缸；塔顶竖一塔葫芦。
[忆母像]现在我们看到的那块石头叫忆母像，忆母像，就是当年望儿老母化作的石人，也就是望儿山老母亲自然形成的头像，当您看见她那沧桑的面孔，会情不自禁的让您联想起当年她含辛茹苦，饱经风霜，养育儿子，期盼儿子归来的一幕幕。有一句俗语说的好石头并非冥顽物，也有人间母子情。
[慈母馆]我们眼前这座庄严的仿古建筑，就是中国第一座也是唯一的一座慈母纪念馆，建与95年，为了进一步增强对慈母馆的认识和理解，现在让我们到里边参观一下。馆内塑有一尊慈母塑像，内壁刻有毛主席为纪念母亲而写的祭母文和古往今来伟大母亲雕像及生平事迹；外壁刻有古时二十四孝的故事。当您进入这庄严肃穆的慈母馆时，你会想想自己的母亲如何艰辛哺育我们，从中得到一些教育，来珍爱自己的母亲。
[弥勒佛宫]是我国目前最大的一座人工雕塑的弥勒坐佛，高15米，这是个喜佛，笑容可掬，笑口常开喜迎天下客人。
[母爱世界]现在我们来到景区中最为精彩的一处----母爱世界，它是望儿山景区体现母爱这一主旋律的标志。她是我国目前为止表现母爱这一永恒主题，面积最大、工艺最精、质量最好的雕塑群体。它塑造了古今中外各民族、各行业母亲的形象，它凝聚了母亲的心爱，再现了人间的真情，把母亲平凡不能再平凡，伟大不能再伟大的品格刻画的淋漓尽致，栩栩如生。它由原熊岳镇委书记董建国筹划，鲁迅美术学院众多美术艺术家创作，构思新颖，设计独特。这里是爱的世界，情感的海洋，人们可以在这里畅游，净化心灵，是颂扬、纪念母亲的基地，值得观赏，并从中受到教益。
母爱故事千千万万，道也道不尽讲也讲不完，而母亲的伟大精神正如一首歌里唱的那样，世间只有母爱是最无私，伟大的母爱能使没有春风也温暖，没有太阳也光明。望儿山的人民为了让天下孝子能更好的纪念自己的母亲，每年五月的的第二个星期日，正当鲜花盛开的时节，望儿山都举办母亲节，丰富多采的民俗活动和文娱演出，吸引大量的中外游客，作为营口市市节的母亲节与大连国际服装节一道被辽宁省政府列入全省十大节庆活动之一，在海内外产生深远的影响。营口市于1996年把望儿山分别定为省、市级爱国主义思想教育基地。母亲节的创立人是美国妇女安娜·查尔维斯。1908年，美国西雅图长老会带头开展颂扬母亲的活动，并拟用安娜母亲生前酷爱的康乃馨作为母爱的象征。1914年5月7日，美国国会通过决议，规定每年的5月的第二个星期日为母亲节。自此以后，许多国家都有他们自己的母亲节。
