If it isn't already clear from my last name, I'm an Asian-American.I'm small, and at times, I can be unassuming and meek.Like Yang, I'm not always so comfortable in my own skin.But there was some gravity in Jeremy Lin's performance against the Los Angeles Lakers Friday night.Every single one of his possessions had me on the floor, overwhelmed with pride and unfiltered elation.I'd never screamed so loud, and it'd been a long time since a single game moved me to tears.Whether it's been officially bestowed upon him or not, Jeremy Lin carries the hopes and dreams of entire Asian generations on his shoulders.I struggle to think of another moment where we as a community had been so proud of who we are.可能你从我的姓氏中 已经可以看出来，我是一个亚裔美国人。我很小只，而且有时我很不张扬、很温顺。和Wesley Yang（前文引述的一名亚裔美国作者）一样，我对我黄皮肤的肤色并不总是觉得很自在自如。但是这个周五的晚上，在林书豪对阵洛杉矶湖人对的比赛中，我感 受到一种引力。他的每一次触球都会让我情不自禁的站起来，并且心中充满着自豪感和毫无修饰的激动。我从未叫喊得如此声嘶力竭，我也记不得自己上一次为一场 体育比赛而落泪是什么时候。无论是否已经被大家强加到他身上，林书豪的肩膀上承载了几代亚裔美国人的希望和梦想。我很难再想出来另一个这样的历史瞬间：我 们作为一整个社群，因为我们是亚裔而如此自豪。

No one really knows what to expect from Lin anymore.What was supposed to be a comedown game against the Lakers became something miraculous.We don't know how long he can keep this up, and for the many(myself included)who have been somewhat skeptical of this run, his play continues to suspend our doubt, almost force-feeding us reasons to believe.Perhaps the most tantalizing reason is Lin's probing of the lanes, providing us an almost unfair tease given the personnel around him and the image that conjures.Of course, he'd be taking cues from another unheralded point guard whose unlikely background made opportunities scarce.已经没有人 知道应该对林书豪有怎样的期待了。本该是一场一边倒的比赛（对阵湖人），变成了一个奇迹。我们不知道林书豪能够继续这样的表现多久；但对于所有在过去的这 段时间里对他存有多多少少的怀疑的人们（包括我在内），他的表现一次又一次地让我们的怀疑无疾而终，几乎是用各种事实的证据逼着我们去相信他。

He's dominated Twitter for the past week, but the tweets that strike me the most are the ones attempting to lump Lin and Yao Ming together.No, Jeremy Lin is not an addendum to Yao Ming's legacy.No, Linsanity doesn't render Yao's time in the league obsolete.No one can replicate what Yao did as an ambassador for the game, nor will anyone be able to duplicate the refined artistry of his post game standing 7'6”.Yao was always a singular case.While he was very much his own person(who else could even dream of being Yao Ming?), it's impossible to separate Yao from China.His will was China's will.His effort was China's effort.He was built to serve his homeland;to propagate his two loves with the world: his country, and basketball.For me, that isn't what Jeremy Lin is about.林书豪成为了过去的一周Twitter上大家讨论最多的话题，但最让我 惊讶是那些试图将林书豪和姚明联系的评论。不，如果姚明给NBA所留下遗产是一本书，那么林书豪并不只是一页附录。不，疯狂的林现象也并不会让姚明在联盟 中的时光被人遗忘。没有人可以替代姚明作为一个大使对这项运动所起到的作用。也没有人可以复制姚明身高7英尺6英寸却还拥有的优美的低位技术。姚明从来都 只是一个个别现象。然而尽管他一直都只是他自己（还有谁能说要“梦想成为姚明”呢？），但是你不可能将姚明和中国分开。他的意志是中国的意志。他的努力代 表着中国的努力。他被培养起来是为了他的祖国服务（举国体育），并宣传他在这个世界上的两个所爱：他的国家、和篮球。对于我来说，林书豪所包含的含义不一 样。

But I'm American!What do I have if I don't have dreams? 第二篇：CNN 林书豪 From Harvard to NBA

Lebron James, Dwyan Wade, Jeremy Lin, Carmelo Anthony, you would probably say Jeremy Lin? But the name does belong.Everybody I named is a standout in the NBA, but Jeremy Lin, is a standout for a different reason, because he is the only NBA player right now that also holds a Harvard degree.He is the first Harvard grad to play in the league in almost 60 years, also the first Asian-American in about 60 years.You are seeing him right there ‘cause last week he just picked up his diploma.Today he’s sitting here with me in studio.Lebron James，Dwyan Wade，林書豪，Carmelo Anthony，你也許會說林書豪？但是這名字的確屬於其中之一。我提到的每個人在NBA都很搶眼，但是林書豪，因為不同的原因而搶眼，因為她是唯一一個現今擁有哈佛學歷的NBA球員。他是近60年來第一個聯盟中的哈佛畢業生，也是近60年來第一個亞裔美國人。你在那邊看到他因為上星期他剛拿到他的畢業證書。今天他在錄音室中跟我坐在一起。

TH: Now, what did your parents emphasize with you when you are growing up? JL: Uh, I think the NBA player.JL: 阿，我想是NBA球員。

TH: Ha-ha.Really? Come-on, you get a Harvard degree.Nobody has a Harvard degree.Well, some do, but still… You are more proud of the NBA part on the resume you think than the Harvard degree in Economics? TH: 哈哈。真的？拜託，你有哈佛學歷。沒人有哈佛學歷。恩，有些人有，但是仍然…在履歷表上你對NBA這一塊比較驕傲，勝過哈佛經濟學歷？

JL: That’s tough to say.That’s putting me in a tough spot.I think I’m pretty proud of both.Ha-ha-ha.JL: 那很難說。那讓我很難回答。我想我對於兩者都感到驕傲。哈哈哈。

第三篇：林书豪的故事

说到林书豪，想必大家都有所耳闻。过去两个月，林书豪迅速成为风靡全美及全中国的体育明星。其华裔背景让他成为继姚明之后又一位令中国体育迷倍感骄傲的篮球运动员。但他身后的故事，却要比姚明更加曲折。

林书豪并非出身篮球世家，他的父母身高都在1.68米左右，上世纪70年代中期从中国台湾移民到美国。两个人从未参与过任何有组织的篮球赛，但他们会看NBA的比赛。母亲是“J博士”的粉丝；而父亲林继明则会每周三次带着三个儿子到篮球场上打球。

初进高中时，林书豪只是一个1.60米高和56.7公斤重的瘦弱球员，一点都不起眼。不过到了高中最后的一年，他已长到1.85米，并且带领帕洛阿尔托高中夺取了马萨诸塞州二级赛的冠军，令全美知名篮球高中天主圣母高中不得不俯首称臣，而林书豪本人也初露峥嵘。而且和大多数有篮球天赋的球员不一样的是，林书豪的学习成绩非常好，他在美国大学入学测验数学甚至拿到了满分。

林书豪当年虽然是北加州高中二级赛的最佳球员，不过当年申请NCAA(美国篮球大学联盟)第一级学校的奖学金时，还是受尽了白眼。因为那些名校的教练都不相信一名亚洲裔学生能成大器。这大概就是目前在美国大学NCAA第一级的学校中，亚裔学生只占4%的原因。

林书豪当年不想为堪萨斯或肯塔基大学这两所NCAA的名校效力，他只将简历和刻有自己比赛集锦的DVD寄往全部八所常春藤盟校、加州的斯坦福大学以及他梦想加入的加州大学洛杉矶分校（UCLA），并得到了四所学校的答复。对于自己在太平洋十校联盟中的两所目标高校，林书豪回忆道，UCLA“根本不感兴趣”，斯坦福则“虚情假意”；斯坦福大学接待的人“把我的姓氏读成了„伦‟”。

经过4年的努力，现在的林书豪凭借自己的努力可谓在NBA小有成就，也让当年看不起他的那些大学教练大吃“后悔药”。

■有人说：“林书豪，一个土生土长的美国人，一个从美国哈佛大学走出来的篮球明星，和我们又有什么相关？”但是在美国硅谷的华人，不论是来自大陆还是来自台湾，都与这种评论的感受完全不同，他们被林书豪的故事深深感动。这又是为什么呢？

据媒体报道，红遍NBA的华裔篮球后卫林书豪已成为美国的传奇人物。白宫发言人杰·卡尼在接受采访时称，林书豪的故事已引起总统奥巴马的注意，“他对林书豪的印象非常深刻”，“这是一个伟大的故事。我知道奥巴马已经看过林书豪的比赛了，而且他也这么说。”

在美国硅谷的华人，不论是来自大陆还是来自台湾，都与这位“评论员”的感受完全不同，他们被林书豪的故事深深感动。1.91米、90公斤的林书豪，普通得就像硅谷华人社区的一个邻家男孩。1988年8月23日，他出生于美国加州洛杉矶。随后和学习计算机专业的父母一起，居住在硅谷附近的帕罗奥尔托。林家祖籍浙江省嘉兴，祖辈移居台湾彰化，父母1970年代移民到美国。大部分移民美国的华人，虽然有的改变了国籍，有的只有绿卡，但他们都十分关心祖国，特别是始终保持着与中华文化的联系。他们深知中国的崛起，也就是华人在美国地位的上升。他们在美国，承受着根深蒂固的种族歧视，在运动场上黄种人更是种族歧视的对象。林书豪在没有成名前，对他充斥着“滚回老家去”的言论。
