在一口废井里，住着一只青蛙。一天，青蛙在井边碰见一只从东海来的大鳖。
青蛙自豪地对海鳖夸口说：“你看，我住在这里多么惬意呀!我要高兴，就在井边跳跃游玩，累了就到井壁石洞里休息。有时把身子舒服地泡在水里，有时愉快地在稀泥中散散步。你看旁边的那些小虫、螃蟹和蝌蚪，它们谁能比得上我呢!我独自占据这口废井，多么自由自在!先生为什么不经常到井中观赏游玩呢?”
