1988年，徐新从南京大学外语系毕业，2005年创立了今日资本集团，曾主导和参与了对网易、中华英才网、京东商城、大众点评网、赶集网等公司的投资。她所投资企业家中，已有4位成为福布斯前百名富豪。
2014年南京大学的毕业典礼上，徐新作为校友出席了学弟学妹的典礼并发表致辞，讲述自己人生路上的三次关键抉择，并分享了人生经历的几点心得。
经过开头的艰难，今日资本终于茁壮成长，徐新也成为“中国十大最佳创业投资人”，而激情、专注和榜样是她送给年轻人的三个“成功锦囊”。
以下为徐新在南京大学2014毕业典礼上的致辞：
我是一个普普通通的南大女生，今天我有幸能够站在这里，跟大家分享我的故事，是因为在我的人生道路上，做对了几次关键的选择。我们的人生是由一系列重大的选择组成的，我们的选择决定了我们的人生！
记得我的第一次重大的选择是，初中毕业的时候，那时候我在厂办学校，我们每年高考升学率都是零，当时初中毕业一共有三个选择：一个是去读技校，一个是去考中专，还有就去考重点高中。
那时我们一个班50个人，我的排名大概是25名左右，其实是不大可能考上重点高中的。
跟我一起长大的三个小姐妹都报名去读技校，我妈妈也说―你为什么不去技校啊？一个月有16块5的工资还包分配嘞！―当时我也不知道是中了哪个邪，反正我就坚持我要考重点高中。
当时我爸爸挺支持我的，找了家教给我开小灶补课，很快就开始补上来了，跟我一起补课的邻居没有我学的好，我就尝到甜头更来劲了，成绩提高很快，居然考上了重点高中—— 南开中学。
当时跟我一起长大的三个小姐妹，其实都很聪明很能干，只是她们都选择去读技校，后来当了工人，没有考大学，人生的分水岭就从初中毕业的那次选择开始的。
我的第二次重大的选择是在中国银行，南京大学毕业以后，我被分配到中国银行，做柜台营业员，干的是非常简单的 ―登记、复印、盖章‖三步曲。
但是我并没有因此气馁，照样每天特别认真地工作，能出彩的地方，我都出彩了，银行知识大奖赛拿个第一啊，当个三八红旗手啊，当个团支部书记啊，这样干了三年后，我感觉荣誉已经都有了，可我却没有在进步。
对这种状态很不满意，那时我每天骑车上班经过右安门立交桥，那个桥修了很久，我就在心里暗暗发誓，在桥修好之前，我的生活一定要有变化。
可能是因为这种上进心和出色的表现，机会果真就来找我了：中国政府和英国政府联合帮助中国培养英国注册会计师，中国银行就为我争取到了一个名额，去参加入学考试。
我是学英文的，却要跟学会计的硕士、博士一起考会计，当时我根本不懂会计，我就把整个一本书给背下来了，我记得考试前一天突然感到脑子一片空白，死记硬背的东西我都忘记了，吓得我大哭一场。
我不懂会计但懂英文，那些会计懂会计不懂英文，但是那次考试的卷子是英语的，结果我稀里糊涂考了个名列前茅，直接被人送到香港的普华会计师事务所培训三年，考上了英国注册会计师，这也是我人生中一次非常重大转折。
我在想，要不是我一直有上进心，又竞选团支部书记、又争当三八红旗手，有试必考，中国银行会把机会给我吗？
1992年，我有幸去了香港普华工作，刚到香港，不会讲广东话（唔识听，唔识讲），也不太懂会计，都没有人点我的钟要我上项目。
我们那时候每个小时干了什么都要填时间表的，每天下班看着我那张空白的时间表，感到很无助也很没用。
比尔·盖茨和巴菲特是好朋友，有一次比尔盖茨的父亲让他们俩用一个关键词来描述他们成功的最主要的原因，打开他们俩的纸条，上面写着是同一个词：Focus – 那就是专注！
第三、你最好能找到人生的榜样–role model。
我的榜样就是巴菲特，我读巴菲特的书和他写给股东的信就像读圣经一样，是每天必看的。读他的书，就像跟老朋友聊天一样，英雄所见略同。
巴菲特每天阅读5小时，跟聪明人谈话2小时，84岁的巴菲特每天都在工作，他和他投资的创业者变成终身的朋友，他很享受他的工作，每天过的很开心，这就是我想要的生活。
榜样的力量是巨大的，他让你看清前方的路，让你不再害怕孤独，让你心无旁骛，让你每天都在进步。记得在南大读书的时候，有一位很酷的黑人女老师，她是教我们黑人文学的老师，她叫Donald。她第一天走进我们的教室，就在黑板上写了几句话，那是我从来没听过的话，也是至今对我震撼最大的一番话。
今天，我也想把她说过的话送给你们：―You are unique.You are a marvel.In the past five hundred years, there has been no person like you;And in the next five hundred years, there will be no person like you.‖—— 你是独一无二的，你是生命的奇迹，在过去的500年里，从来没有一个人像你一样，在未来的500年里，也没有一个人像你一样！

一查：消防合法性
1、查验建筑（场所）投入使用的时间和改造、装修时间，根据投入使用的时间和改造装修时间确定适用的消防法律法规和技术规范。
2、检查建筑（场所）消防审核、验收、开业前消防安全检查情况，查阅单位合法性文件（可为复印件），并通过档案或监督数字化系统进行核对，或者检查消防设计备案、消防竣工验收备案凭证。
二查：消防管理
1、消防安全组织机构健全。落实逐级消防安全责任制和岗位消防安全责任制，消防安全责任人、消防安全管理人以及各级、各岗位的消防安全责任人明确并落实责任。
2、消防安全管理制度完善。制定防火检查巡查及火灾隐患整改制度、用电用油用气安全管理制度、消防设施器材维护保养管理制度、员工消防安全教育培训制度、灭火和应急疏散预案演练制度等，并按要求建立档案台帐。建议使用消防宝移动APP进行设施智能维保。
3、日常消防安全管理落实。严格用火用电用气管理，火灾危险部位（包括消防安全重点部位）有严格的管理措施；定期组织防火检查、巡查，能及时发现和消除火灾隐患；商场市场、宾馆饭店、学校、医院、公共娱乐场所按标准化管理要求实施管理；两个以上单位共同管理或者使用的建筑物，各方消防安全责任明确并落实，公共部位消防安全管理措施到位。
4、重点岗位人员经专门培训，持证上岗。新员工须经岗前消防培训，所有员工会报警、会扑救初期火灾、会组织人员疏散、熟悉消防设施的摆放位置。值班员或消防员会正确使用灭火器、消防软管卷盘、室内消火栓等扑救初期火灾，会报警，会组织人员疏散，熟知本单位灭火和应息疏散预案。
5、对消防设施定期检查、检测、维护保养，并有详细完整的记录。消防宝移动应用可以记录消防、电梯、空调等各种设施设备，在线查看数据报告。自动消防设施每年全面检测一次，检测单位和人员资质符合国家相关要求。
6、灭火和应急疏散预案较科学合理，并有定期演练记录。
7、消防档案台帐完善。消防安全重点单位按要求建立健全消防档案，内容详实，能全面反映单位消防基本情况和工作状况，并根据情况变化及时更新；其他单位将单位基本概况、公安消防机构填发的各种法律文书、与消防工作有关的材料和记录等统一保管备查。
8、模拟设置火灾场景，检查单位的应急处置程序和能力、管理水平以及员工消防知识掌握情况。
三查：建筑防火
1、建筑的使用性质和消防设备安装情况是否符合规定要求，如特殊性能化建筑须有性能化设计文件用途变更国家规范规定有更高更严要求的，应报消防部门备案同意。
2、防火间距是否符合要求。
3、消防车道是否符合要求。
4、建筑外窗是否设置影响消防扑救的广告牌等障碍物。
5、生产、储存、经营场所与居住场所设置在同一建筑物内，是否符合国家工程建设消防技术标准。
四查：消防控制室
1、值班员不少于2人（部分省市另行规定的除外），应经过培训，持证上岗。
2、有每日值班记录，记录完整准确。
3、有设备检查记录，记录完整准确。
4、消防控制室按规定张贴《消防控制室管理及应急程序》和其它需要的内容。
5、询问控制室值班人员，值班人员能熟练掌握应急程序，能熟练操作消防控制设备，能熟练报警，能熟练按本单位灭火l和应急疏散预案开展工作。
6、消防控制室防火分隔到位，有直通室外的出口，控制室应急照明能连续保持正常照明的照度。
7、了解消防设施联动方式，检查建筑消防设施各系统是否处于良好工作状态，消防控制设备运行正常，能否正确显示火灾报警信号和消防设施的动作、状态信号。报警主机自检状态是否正常，有无故障点、屏蔽点，故障点、屏蔽点是否及时报修，有无记录。报警主机是否有记忆功能，能否正确打印有关信息。
8、检查消防电源工作状况。切换报警主机主、备电源，检查其供电功能。
五查：消防泵房和屋顶水箱
1、消火栓泵、喷淋泵、稳压（增压）泵的控制柜开关设置在自动（接通）位置，标识准确、清晰、简单易懂。
2、现场手动启动消火栓泵、喷淋泵工作正常，平常消火栓泵、喷淋泵电控柜开关置于自动状态。
3、消火栓泵和喷淋泵进、出水管阀门和系统管道上阀门准确标明开、关状态，是否保持常开。
4、消防水池储水量达到规定水位，补水管道阀门保持常开。
5、水泵房防火分隔符合要求，泵房内应急照明能连续保持正常照明的照度。
6、屋顶水箱水量充足，相应阀门、工作组件处于开启状态，标识清晰。
7、屋顶水箱如采用临时高压消防给水系统，稳压设施应能正常工作，压力符合要求。
六查：防排烟设施
1、建筑（场所）按照要求设置防排烟设施。
2、建筑物内已设防排烟设施的，防排烟风口设置形式和位置符合规范要求，排烟口应为常闭状态，排烟口应设在顶棚或靠近顶棚的墙面上。
3、送（排）风机现场、远程启动正常，送（排）风机电控开关置于自动状态。
4、排烟口现场手动开启及联动启动正常（可用风速仪或纸片测试）。
5、建筑室外防排烟进、出风口符合规范要求或有可靠措施，防止排烟系统排烟口排出的烟气进入防烟系统进风口。
6、防排烟机房应设应急照明，并保证连续供电和正常照度。七查：自动喷水灭火系统
1、检查每个报警阀组。报警阀组件完整，报警阀前后的阀门、通向延时器的阀门处于开启状态，报警阀组压力表显示正常工作状态。
2、对湿式报警阀进行阀后放水。将消防控制室联动控制设备设置在自动位置，放水后水力警铃动作，压力开关正常动作，喷淋泵启动，控制设备能正确显示压力开关动作及启泵信号。
3、对自动喷水灭火系统进行末端放水试验。将消防控制室联动控制设备设置在自动位置，在报警阀控制范围内，选取最不利点进行末端试水（注意观察压力表示数是否符合要求），水流指示器动作，控制设备能正确显示水流报警信号；压力开关动作，水力警铃发出警报，喷淋泵启动，控制设备能正确显示压力开关动作及启泵信号。
八查：消火栓系统
1、室内消火栓箱内的水枪、水带、栓口、阀门等配件齐全，水带与接口绑扎牢固，无霉变损坏。
2、检查室内消火栓系统功能。可通过消防控制室或室内消火栓内启泵按钮启动消防泵工作，最不利点消火栓静水和出水压力（即静压和动压）符合要求。
3、室外消火栓不被埋压、圈占、遮挡，便于消防车停靠使用，室外消火栓标识应明显，有专用开启工具，阀门开启灵活、方便，出水正常。
4、水泵接合器不被埋压、圈占、遮挡，标识明显，便于消防车供水，并标明供水系统的类型及供水范围。
九查：火灾自动报警系统选择不同楼层或防火分区，尽量检查不同回路火灾报警探测器或相同回路不同种类火灾报警探测器，至少做三项测试。
1、检查故障报警功能。摘掉一个探测器，控制室报警主机和楼层区域控制器能正确显示故障报警信号。
2、检查火灾报警功能。任选一个感烟探测器进行加烟测试，控制室报警主机和楼层区域控制器能正确显示火灾报警信号。
3、检查火警优先功能。摘掉一个探测器，同时给另一感烟探测器加烟，控制室报警主机和楼层区域控制器能优先显示火灾报警信号。
4、检查消防电话通话情况。至少抽查一处消防电话通话功能（消防电话指固定消防电话或插孔消防电话），尽量选择在消防控制室和水泵房、发电机房等处测试消防电话功能，消防控制室与相关场所能相互正常通话。
5、火灾应急广播能分区播放，播放内容准确、清楚，能正确引导人员疏散。
6、按照系统的联动逻辑关系，现场对主要消防系统设备进行联动测试，查看联动控制设施动作信号反馈情况。十查：防火分隔设施
1、防火分区和防火分隔设施是否符合要求，是否改变原设计防火分区和防火分隔设施。
2、防火卷帘分隔是否到位，下方无障碍物。自动、手动启动防火卷帘，卷帘能下落至地板面，反馈信号正确。已设置在疏散走道的防火卷帘两侧是否设控制开关。
3、管道井、电缆井，以及管道、电缆穿越楼板和墙体处的孔洞封堵密实。
4、厨房、配电室、锅炉房、柴油发电机房等火灾危险性较大的部位与周围其他场所采取严格的防火分隔，且有严密的火灾防范措施和严格的消防安全管理制度。
十一查：安全疏散设施
1、安全出口、疏散通道、楼梯间设置符合要求，并保持畅通，未锁闭，无任何物品堆放。各类提示性、警示性、禁止性标识齐全。
2、疏散楼梯围护结构完整，无违反规范要求设置房间，无可燃气体管道和甲、乙、丙类液体管道，首层有直通室外的出口。
3、封闭楼梯、防烟楼梯及其前室的防火门向疏散方向开启，具有自闭功能，并处于常闭状态；平时因频繁使用需要常开的防火门能自动、手动关闭；平时需要控制人员随意出入的疏散门，不用任何工具能从内部开启，并有明显标识和使用提示：常开防火门的启闭状态在消防控制室能正确显示、联动正常。
4、疏散用门应向疏散方向开启，不应采用侧拉门，严禁采用转门。公共娱乐场所安全出口处不得设置门槛、台阶，不得采用卷帘门、转门、吊门和侧拉门，门口不得设置影响疏散的遮挡物。
5、疏散指示标志及应急照明灯的数量、类型、安装高度符合要求。封闭楼梯间、防烟楼梯及前室、公共建筑疏散走道、人员密集场所观众厅、展览厅、商业营业厅、多功能等厅室应设火灾应急照明。疏散指示标志安装在离地面1米以下，能在疏散路线上明显看到指示，并明确指向安全出口（基本要求：场所任一点都能导向清晰并保持视觉连续性）。
6、应急照明灯主、备用电源切换功能正常，供电保持连续，潦度符合要求（可切断照明电试验）。
十二查：灭火器
1、灭火器选型正确，配置数量充足。
2、储压式灭火器压力符合要求，压力表指针在绿区。
3、灭火器设置在明显和便于取用的地点，每点配置灭火器一般不应少于2只，保护距离宜为15-20米，不影响安全疏散。
4、灭火器有定期维护检查的记录。十三查：装修材料
1、人员密集场所严禁使用易燃、可燃高分子材料装修。
2、疏散楼梯间及其前室和安全出口的门厅，其顶棚、墙面和地面应采用不燃材料装修。
3、房间、走道的顶棚、墙面、地面使用符合规范要求的装修材料。
4、疏散走道两侧和安全出口附近无误导人员安全疏散的反光镜子、玻璃等装修材料。
十四查：其他
1、建筑（场所）新增、更换消防产品时，应按消防产品监督管理规定检查消防产品。
2、其他消防设施（如气体、泡沫灭火系统等）处于准工作状态，系统组件完整，各组件、阀门、开关等按要求处于启闭位置，各种仪表显示屏显示位置在正常允许范围内。
3、电器设备、燃气用具、开关、插座、照明灯具等的设置和使用，以及电气线臻、燃气管道等的材质和敷设符合要求。
4、集中设置的可燃气体、可燃液体瓶（罐）应设于室外，室内可燃气体、可燃液体管道采用金属管道，并设有紧急事故切断阀。
5、了解建筑外墙和屋顶保温系统构造和材料使用情况；了解外墙和屋顶使用易燃可燃保温材料的建筑，其楼板与外保温系统之间的防火分隔或封堵情况，以及外墙和屋顶最外保护层材料的燃烧性能；外墙和屋顶使用易燃可燃保温、防水材料的建筑，有严格的动火管理制度和严密的火灾防范措施。
