Does it rain much in China? Well, it varies, actually. In North China, it doesn't rain much all year round and some areas are even accompanied by drought, whereas in the south it rains quite a lot basically.Sometimes it may cause flooding which can be a great loss in terms of lives and wealth.Do you like rainy days? /Do you like rain? No, I don't, actually. When it rains, I feel quite sad and depressed.I don't know why.Everything seems to be quite, and all I can hear is the drip of the rain from the roof, which reminds me of something unpleasant.Maybe I'm easily affected by the weather, negatively. What do you do on rainy days? I like to read books or take a sleep when it rains actually.I don't know why I feel quite peaceful and sometimes sleepy when it's rainy. So it's a really good time for me to read something, think about something.Or I would just go to take a nap or sleep without thinking anything. It's quite quality actually.I guess I'm quite affected by the rainy weather.Do you think rain is good? Yes, I think so, at least it's true in Beijing. You know, it's not humid here especially when it's in spring and fall.Dry air accompanies dust is not good to our health, especially our breathing system.Raining actually helps with the problem, making air moist and with little dust.So I'd like to say raining helps with air quality.二.Describe a success of one your friend that you feel happy for.Okay.I'd like to talk something about a foreign friend of me.And I think he's pretty successful in Chinese learning. His name is Greg, and he comes from New Zealand and studies Cultural Communication at my university. In order to help with his studies he planned to learn advanced Chinese.I was a bit surprised at his decision, coz' his Chinese, in my opinion, was pretty good. And after that, he spent almost his free time studying advanced Chinese, and always kept an English-Chinese dictionary with him.And sometimes he turned to me for the help that he couldn't get from the dictionary.Once he asked me a question what is 'taoguangyanghui'.I was like…what? Where did you get that? You know, we don't really use what he asked in our daily life, coz' the idiom is quite formal and written.Anyways, I told
him that the idiom is basically used in a tough situation when you are not rich, powerful or strong you gotta keep a low profile till you are rich, powerful or strong enough. The man's crazy about Chinese language. And then, one day, he came over to my dorm, grabbing two bottles of beer and a red cover certificate. He told me he got the highest level certificate of HSK test. That's the standard Mandarin Chinese test.I was really taken aback and felt happy for him.I think he deserves that, coz' he loves Chinese language and he did work pretty hard.三.Describe something that you once shared with others.Well, I'd like to tell you something about the experience shared with my friend and me.It's about two years ago, my friend, Tony, told me there was a Chinese family looking for a Chinese teacher and an English teacher for its kid, but the parents required the Chinese and English classes to match up, which means Tony and me had to teach the same content in different languages with the same pace. That's a bit challenging, to be honest.Anyways, Tony would like me to teach the kid with him, and actually I took him up on the offer. After that, we spent a lot of time together talking about which textbook we were gonna use, what we were gonna teach, how we were gonna teach and how could we make each other's class connected and seem to be a perfect combination. And then, everything went smooth between us and for our classes. Finally, the family was really satisfied, and so Tony and me got well paid for the effort that we made on the kid.Through the experience, I learned how important teamwork is.And also, effective communication would make things straightforward and clear. On top of that, persuasion and compromising could make things change for the better. It's pretty good experience actually and memorable.四.Describe a problem with equipment that you can't solve.I'd like to describe a problem that I met, which was pretty annoying.I changed my cell phone about two years ago, and since then I've been using my current one. It's an iPhone 4 from Apple Company, which is famous for its stylish appearance and powerful functions. The problem is the cell phone has loads of functions, and some them are pretty sophisticated. If you don't know them well, you would have nothing to do when they are down. One day, I noticed that my cell phone didn't work.In the beginning, I thought it was powered off, but after charging for hours I still couldn't work it out, no matter how hard I pressed the power button. It's wired, you know, coz'I usually use it pretty carefully, never drop or something. And then, I became impatient and began to hit its back by hand.I was really annoyed(慎用
pissed off).In the end, I gotta research for the solutions to the problem on the Internet, and I was lucky. It's said when you couldn't turn on your iPhone 4, try to press the home button and the power one at the same time. And actually it worked out.But even now I haven't got any idea of the reason behind the problem and the point is that the problem happens again and again. You know, in front of that smart equipment, I feel like a loser and easily lose my patience and cool. It's pretty annoying.五.Describe an indoor game that you played when you were young.Erm…actually, when I was young, I played Mahjong pretty much and I did very well.So I'd like to tell you something about it.When I was young I lived with grandma. She's crazy about playing the game, and she even taught me how to play it, and that's why I knew and played the game when I was young. But now I'm kind of busy with my studies, so I haven't played the game for ages.Anyways, the game is like this: there is a table in the middle, at which four players sit in a square. The four players get 13 tiles each at first, and then draw and discard tiles till anyone of them who forms 4 groups and a pair with 14 tiles.Who gets that first, who wins.It sounds simple, but can be very hard when you play.On top of that, it's just a simple description of the game, and actually the rules of the game can be various in different areas and some of them can be very complicated.Of course, the game sometimes seems to be a test of your luck, even if you are very skillful. In fact, I love the game pretty much. For one thing, the game is very interesting and it's a good way to relax and kill time for a big family or gathering. For another, it helps with your intelligence and cognition, at least I think so.When discarding tiles you gotta think about the tiles of the other three players, guess what they need and what they don't, accompanied by a really good understanding of the rules, coz' you don't wanna make a trouble with the tile you discard, right? 六.Describe an experience which you think is positive Well, I'd like to tell you something about what I experienced, which has actually positively influenced me a lot, especially for my English.Actually, I was quite interested in English and I did a lot of practice to improve it.But I didn't perform well in the College Entrance Examination when I was 18 years old, and I just got in an ordinary university in China for my undergraduate program studies.I was quite disappointed and even depressed then.I was eager to prove myself and my English, coz' I knew my English was better than the score showed. And then I took part in the annual English Sketch Competition in my university, as a team member of my department when I was a freshman. In the end, we won the competition: our team 3
was rewarded as 'the Best Team'.On top of that, I was rewarded as 'the Best Actor' because of my excellent performance and my good spoken English.Through the experience I kind of proved myself, and this made me feel better and more confident. To start with, I stood out from other candidates who competed for the best actor in the show. And second, I practiced and correct my English pronunciation pretty much before the competition. On top of that, the reward was kind of like a certificate or qualification or something which proved my English in public. And since then, I've been more confident about my English and my future.七.Who taught you how to use a map? Actually, my dad told me how to use a map when I was young. He told me to look at the bottom first of a map to get an idea of symbols of buildings, such as historical sites, shopping malls, hotels, hospitals and so forth, as well as public transport routes, like rails, buses and subways. And then find some coordinates to scale down your researching area and look at it carefully, and then you will find out your target exactly.Do you prefer to use electronic maps or those made of paper? I think I prefer paper-made maps, I'm afraid. They are light as well as small, and easy to carry with, which means they are portable and convenient to use in any ways, whereas electronic maps might be affected by equipment itself, such as smart phones.I mean if the equipment is powered off or shut down the maps are not available any more.Do you use a map? Yes, I do, not often though. But when I go to another city especially a big one I'd like to buy a map and get an idea of its bus and subway routes there as well as the location of historical sites or something, coz' it would be easier for me to find my way and don't get lost then. When do you use a map? Well, when I go to another city especially a big one, I'd like to use a map.You know, it's hardly surprising to get lost in a big city like London and New York.So I would always keep a map with me.And sometimes I will confirm the information through a map after asking someone for my way.八.Part3:Do you think politics have effects on students academic outcomes?
Well, I would say yes.Politics do have effects on policies and systems of education in a country.Let's say, a couple of years ago, British government thought the money they spent on education of local students were kind of a big burden of its fiscal budget. So they decided to charge local and international students more money for tuition fees, which caused students came on the street in their hordes and opposed this act.And some students simply quit their studies, not to mention their academic performance or outcomes, right? This is how politics work.九.Part3What do you think of people who grow vegetables themseles? 这个topic就算出现在part three也够令人捉急挠头的(跟Do you love trees? Why do they do that? What vegetables bring them? First One Well, I guess people worry about their food security.I mean they don't trust their food security supervision system, super markets and people who grow and sell them.So some people choose to grow vegetables themselves. They grow them, water them, nurture them.No chemicals, such as pesticides and fertilizers. And finally vegetables pay them back, which means people get their food healthy and safe.Second One Erm...I can understand why some people do that. You know, growing vegetables is kind of like giving a life.I mean, put seeds into the earth, water them, look after them till they germinate, flower and seed.Whey you see them healthy and active, you would probably feel the sense of fulfill and satisfaction. It's a way to prove successful, and also it is a way to enjoy and appreciate life, isn't it?
十.Describe an advertisement that is interesting /impressive.To start with, I'd like to say my daily life is bombarded with all kinds of advertisements – television adverts, mail shots and telephone sales. So based on
my experiences, I've got a really high standard judging a good advert. But today I'm gonna describe to you an advert about pet food, which I saw on a TV program about two years ago.And I think it's really interesting and even impressive. It's all like this: there's a cute little cat on a carpet tucking her body in a circle with loads of toys surrounding and a full bowl of food. She seemed a bit unhealthy or something.Anyways, she's not active.Even when a kid came over and tried to play with her, she didn't give any positive response. At this moment, the door's open, the kid's mum came back with hands full. The cat looked at the direction, and you can tell she seemed to be expecting something.Oh, yes. That's right. She saw it.That's her favorite food. The cat ran up to the mum and began to keep her tale wiggling. The advert makes the little story quite real. And the cat looks like a clever species that knows what she likes and dislikes. And the advert kind of promotes a concept-don't try to make the decision your own.You gotta be listening to your cat.I was struck by the thinking of the advertisement really.十一.Describe something that you forgot.Well, It' s about one year ago, I got an opportunity to teach in a primary school as a part-time teacher. But I forgot something important in one day when I was to teach. That was terriable.Actually, I got up kind of late in the morning, coz' I forgot to set the alarm. And I was afraid to be late , so I didn' t wash my face and brush my teeth, just to save time. After I put my laptop and textbooks into my backpack, I carried it with me and ran to a subway station.Anyways, I was in a rush. When I got to the classroom, I got five minutes left before the class. And till then, everything seemed all right.I began to catch my breath in the chair, opened my bag and took out the laptop. And then, I was like 'Where's my plug?' I tried to keep my cool and looked for it again.Actually, it wasn't there.I was really annoyed and mad at myself. You know, I was to teach my students for five hours on that day, and my laptop wouldn' t work for that long time without power and I couldn't teach without a laptop for that long time either. That day was quite a long day for me and everything was messed up.I was suffering from it for almost five hours. It's unforgettable, and also I learned my lesson.Since then, I would get everything ready and check it again before I hit the sack.十二.Describe a comic actor that you would like to talk about.6
Well, I' d like to talk about a comic actor in China. His name is Wang Baoqiang.Actually, I didn' t even hear of the name until I was impressed by his performance in a movie which described loads of funny experiences of the role he played in Thailand. And because of that, he was nominated as the Best Actor for the year.Actually, he comes from Hebei province and used to learn Chinese kung fu when he was young, but it seemed not smooth. And then he left his family for Beijing and made a living here by playing a walk-on part. But he was lucky. After years' hard work, his talent for performance was recognized by a really famous director, and he made a name for himself with his spectacular performance in a set of TV serials. Now he' s become a very famous and popular comic actor in China. You know, his Mandarin is kind of poor and his appearance even looks a bit silly. But all these make him special and even memorable.I noticed that all his performance in movies, TV serials is about a little part, and that all his lines are nonsense and maybe even stupid.Actually, sometimes I even doubt audience laugh not because of the parts he plays but simply him.Anyways, I' d like to see his performance more, coz' it' s pretty funny. And it' s actually a good way to kill time.十三.Describe a situation in which you helped someone Okay.Erm…It was a morning in the mid winter. It's still kind of dark even when it was around 8 o' clock.I was a almost late for my first class in the morning actually, so I went to the school canteen to get something as my breakfast and was about to eat them during the break between classes. You know, trying to save time. When I came out of the canteen, I saw someone who seemed to be looking for something.'Come on.Forget it.I' m almost late.' It' s what I was thinking abut at the moment. But I heard someone speaking. Then I stopped and turned back.Obviously, the person was speaking to me.To be honest, I was a bit in a dilemma. So…I was a bit, you know, hesitant, but…anyways, I came over to the person. Then, I got to know the person was Irish and his name' s Vigny. He lost his wallet as well as his student ID.I suggested we' d better go to the lost-and-found to test our luck. But the office opens from 9 o' clock in the morning, so we began to make small talk and…you know, wait. Finally, I helped him to fill in a form for the lost, and Vigny was luck: he got them back later on.Because of this, we became friends though I was late for my class. And we' ve been in touch through MSN.He told me if one day I had a chance I' d better take a visit to Ireland and then I would be his guest. And I think I will.十四.Describe an event that has changed your life.Well, when I think about the question, I feel it's simply like a piece of irony to me.Actually, when I was young, I thought I'd never be a teacher. The reason is simple: teaching is a tiring job, which requires patience and carefulness. And this is what I was short of.But during the summer vacation last year, I went to a rural area and taught in a primary school there as a volunteer with some of my classmates, and there's something that has changed on me.When we got there, I was struck by the simplicity of the school and its facilities. We felt sorry for those students. So I decided to bring them happiness and satisfaction through my classes.I stayed up quite late to make my classes well prepared for any questions that might be asked. And when delivering them, I spoke slowly with a lot of repetition and body languages, accompanied by quite a few stories and examples, trying to make the points clear and myself well understood.Days later, when we left the school for Beijing, students came over to me and told me that they had the best classes ever. It's memorable experience.Since then, I've been always patient and careful to people and things around me.And also, the experience allowed me to appreciate people's trust and have a different idea of teaching and a teacher. And this is what I'm taking the IELTS test for.I wanna be a real teacher in the near future.十五.Describe a family business that you are familiar with.Erm…well, I'd like to talk about a family business I know.Actually, I have a close friend, and his name is Na Lei.We used to live in a Hutong in Chongwen district, and grew up together. His family is running a restaurant, and I've eaten a couple of times there for nothing, and the dishes are really great, which I've never had before. The restaurant is based in Houhai and furnished as well as decorated in the ancient Chinese style with a small pool and man-made hill in the middle of the yard, accompanied by kinds of vegetation. It's quite popular with not just Chinese people also foreigners.Even some foreign ambassadors have been there. For years, I couldn't understand why.And then he told me the truth. His ancestors used to cook for the royal family in the Qing dynasty, and the ways how dishes are made and the ingredients needed are secrets, which are passed down and kept only by later male generations. So his family, to be precise, his dad has got all the secrets. What's more, the restaurant doesn't accept any orders for dishes made by customers, which means the only thing they can do is to tell how much money they wanna spend and then eat based on their budget. On top of that, if you want to eat there, you have to reserve seats even months in advance. What a business!
十六.Describe a historical building.Well, I'd like to talk something about a historical building. It's based in a place which is close to Dongbianmen in Chongwen district in Beijing. The building has actually a history of hundreds of years, which means it dates back to the Ming dynasty. It was built in a square shape and made of bricks, grey bricks. On the top of it, there're a few instruments which were used to monitor and foresee the weather and some other natural phenomena, such as earthquakes. In ancient China, any data collected from them would be analyzed by a particular official department which was responsible for choosing days for the royal family activities, such as ceremonies and rituals.I spent quite a lot of time there and every time I went there I could get some new stories by the guide about the instruments, coz' it's extremely interesting. For one thing, I was quite interested in the history and the stories themselves, coz' they were always appealing to me.For another, I was struck by the wise of ancient Chinese people, as well as the elaboration and accuracy of these instruments, coz' these instruments were built in the time without advanced mathematics and technology.
I am a huge fan of a Chinese TV show named Happy Camp, in Chinese KLDBY, which is an entertaining program. There are a lot of stars showing up in the program. It is on 8 every Saturday night so I feel very relaxed every weekend. The show is very funny in that the five hosts are gifted in amusing people.I especially enjoy watching them chat with guests and play jokes on them. They are so intelligent and humorous that I am always amused by their words. In addition, they also play some games with stars in the show which can present another aspect of these stars.Sometimes I laughed so hard that my mom thought I was crazy, and then she became curious and ended up as a huge fan of the show herself.Yes.I think there are too much advertising on TV which always spoils my mood of appreciating TV programs or dramas.I do not like it at all.I know it is unlikely that there is no ad on TV at all.But I hope the ads can be put after the broadcasting of a TV program not in the middle of it.I think the difference between today’s TV channels and pastis huge.We have more channels today than in the pst.So we can appreciate a variety of TV programs which enrich our leisure time. But there are also more advertisements on TV today than in the past, which makes audience annoyed.I think Peking University Hall is very interesting. It is on the campus of PKU.When I first entered PKU, I went there to listen to the lecture of freshmen’s mental health. So it was one of my first impressions about PKU.Peking University Hall is a building that mixes the arts of traditional and modern architecture. It looks like a castle. At night, all the lights, movement and excitement of a busy theatre can be seen from the street outside. All the performances there are very wonderful.Besides, many famous people visit there and give a lecture to students of our university.I’ve watched a lot of performances and even met my idol Jay Chou in the hall.So the hall is very interesting to me
Describe a film/your favourite film
I watched a movie called “A world without thieves” when I was a freshman. One of my favourite stars, Liu Ruoying, acts the leading role in it.This is a reason I love the film.Beside, the plot is thrilling and funny. The story took place on a train.Liu and her boyfriend were both living by stealing. This time they didn’t steal, but to protect a young man from being stolen.Since Liu was going to give birth to the baby, they did this to accumulate virtue for their baby. Finally, they succeed, and the young man was safe to arrive with his money. But Liu’s boyfriend died in the contest with another thief. When he was dying, he sent a short message to Liu, saying ”Wait for me, and give birth to my baby.”
Two month passed, the police she had met on the train told her the truth. On hearing this, she couldn’t help weeping.Every time I watched this scene, I would be moved by the love between Liu and her boyfriend

1,Fluency 2,Grammary(包括pronouns和tense)3,Vocabulary 4,Pronunciation 5,Coherency
没办法,打电话给警察,说了3句令人惊叹的话:“one car hiting my car, red water on the floor, I call 呜呜呜coming.”
考试的时候这几秒的空白可以用well, I think, I believe来填补。

Listening Comprehension Practice, Active Listening, Count me in, Focus on First Certificate, Task Listening(以上基本是分类练习,又专门练习数字的,有专门练习场景的)。
Writing Skills For The IELTS Test(这本书关于Task1有一些问题,不过布局介绍非常好)
综合:Insight into IELTS
What's your opinion about this issue?
第一,让老外觉得你自信且尊重他/她;
