I have no arms and no legs, but I’m very thankful that I have my little chicken drumstick.There were times when I sort of looked at my life, and thinking “I can’t do this?” or “I can’t do that?”, and you keep on concentrating on the things that you wish you had or the things you wish you didn’t have.And you sort of forget what you do have.There’s no point, I believe in my life where I wish I had arms and legs, I wish I had arms and legs… because wishing wouldn’t help.What I’ve seen in life are just a couple key principles.And the first thing I’ve seem is to be thankful.It’s hard to be thankful when I was 8 years old, I sort of summed up my life and thought: I’m never going to get married.I’m not going to have a job.I’m not going to have a life of purpose.What kind of husband am I going to be if I can’t even hold my wife’s hands? It’s a lie to think that you’re not good enough;it’s a lie to think that you’re not worth anything.I love life, you know so many people come and say “how come you smile so much?” And I’m like “Well, it’s a long story, but it’s very simple at the same time.” You see, it’s very hard to smile sometimes in life.There are things that happen that you don’t know, and you don’t understand, and you don’t know if you are going to get through it.You know you go through your storms in life, and you don’t know how long the storm’s going to be.And today, I want to share with you some principles that I’ve learnt in my life that you can use in yours.Being patient is a beautiful art.I tell you it’s the hardest thing.But I realize I may not have hands to hold my wife’s hand.But when the time comes, I’ll be able to hold her heart.I don’t need hands to hold her heart.Life is life.Life is an interesting journey of ups and downs.But how that journey ends, is up to you today.You see when you fall down, you feel like giving up.When times get tough, it’s not the end.The question is “Are you going to finish strong?” The definition of a disability is something that will hinder you from being able to do something.I think, though, the greatest disability is not having no arms and no legs.The greatest disability is your mind, the choices that you make.The question is: are you going to make the right choices? Are you going to make the choice, to have your life in its right perspective? Are you going to make the choice, to get up instead of give up? Are you going to make the choice, to dream big? There is no greater disability that we have in our life than to make the decision to give up.Because once you give up, then there is no hope.But until you give up, there is that hope.My passion is to encourage people, to inspire people to be all that they can be.I found my purpose, I found my strength, and I want you to find yours.Don’t be afraid of failing, every time you fall down, every time you fail, you learn something new.You’re ready for the next one, you’ve learned how not to do something, well then, learn from it and move on!Leave what’s behind and press forward.You can only win, if you don’t give up.Go for it.Don’t let anything hold you back!If nothing is holding me back, what’s holding you back?

No goal is too big;no dream is too far fetched.It’s as big as you can dream it.There’re times in life, when you don’t see the purpose or the good in your situation.But just because you can’t see it, it doesn’t mean it’s not coming.Who goes to the train station, looks down the railway, and says” The train’s not here.I’m leaving?” You will wait for train!Why? Because the schedule says that the train is coming.So just because you can’t see the hope in your situation, it doesn’t mean it’s not there.You see many people think that I have only one foot, just because you can’t see the other one.I’ve gone from a life without limbs, into a life without limits.What about you?

没有四肢的生命奇迹

——尼克胡哲观后感

“人生最可悲的并非失去四肢，而是没有生存希望及目标！人们经常埋怨什么也做不来，但如果我们只记挂着想拥有或欠缺的东西，而不去珍惜所拥有的，那根本改变不了问题！真正改变命运的，并不是我们的机遇，而是我们的态度。”

尼克·胡哲是澳大利亚人，他出生于1982年12月4日，原本应该给全家带来欢乐的小生命却在他来到世上的那一刻吓坏了所有的人，他天生就没有双臂和双腿，只在左侧臀部以下的位置有一个带着两个脚指头的小“脚”，尼克笑称他为“小鸡腿”，在以后的日子里，“小鸡腿”给了尼克巨大的帮助。然而在最初的日子里，他的样子吓坏了她的父母，他的母亲直到他4个月大她才敢抱他。

童年本应该是快乐的，然而尼克胡哲的成长却因身体残疾充斥着满目的荆棘。但尼克胡哲的父母并没有放弃这个小生命，他们希望他能像普通人一样生活和学习。“父亲在我18个月大时就把我放到水里，”尼克胡哲说，“让我有勇气学习游泳。” 也许，这对一个孩子来说是残忍的，尤其是对尼克胡哲这样身体有残疾的孩子，后来他的父母甚至将他送进了一所普通的小学就读。在学校的日子是难熬的，同学们异样的目光，不断的欺凌，让小尼克萌生了想要结束生命的可怕念头，他甚至试图将自己溺死在浴缸里，但上帝终归对他有所眷顾，尼克逐渐适应了学校生活，并开始结交各种朋友。经过长期训练，“小鸡腿”也逐渐成了尼克胡哲的好帮手，不仅帮助他保持身体平衡、写字、取物，还可以踢球、打字。尼克的生活开始逐渐走上正轨。

有句话说：“父母的爱是孩子不断前进最好的动力。”但是，却并不是每一对父母都能做到，尤其在面对孩子的残疾时。幸运的是，尼克胡哲的父母并没有像其他人一样将身有残疾的孩子送进福利院或将之遗弃，他们用自己的爱，给尼克撑起了一片自由成长的天空。尼克的父母选择让尼克接受正常的教育、像正常人一样生活，也许这个过程是痛苦的，然而经历过后，生活回馈他的是一笔宝贵的财富。如今回想起那段倍感艰辛的学习经历，尼克胡哲认为这是父母为让他融入社会作出的最佳抉择。“那段时间对我而言非常艰难，但它让我变得独立”。正如尼克所说，这种另类的爱使尼克胡哲从小建立起一种坚韧向上、积极乐观的精神。“像普通人一向生活”，如今，他做到了。

只要用心的爱自己和这个世界，再大的困境都能超越。上帝给了尼克胡哲不完整的肢体，却让他在以后的生活中逐渐成长为一个拥有完整人格，并将爱播撒到世界各地的人，它不仅获得了会计和财务规划的双学位，更是创造了一个有一个生命的奇迹，他的生命比一个四肢健全的人更加完整、更加魅力四射。

在节目里，尼克跟对观众们说 “即使你知道会失败也要去尝试，因为你知道这件事值得你去失败”。所以，不要轻言放弃，尤其是在你没有尝试时，你不知道下一秒你会遇到什么事，你不知道下一秒你会遇到什么人，你更不知道，下一秒你是会失败还是成功。记得当初在申请科研立项时，我不止一次的想要放弃，因为无论是我的课题还是工作难度，对于一个大一学生来说，都几乎是不可能完成的任务。但凭着一股对法律的热爱，我依然坚持着完成了科研立项的申请工作，并且，我相信会在接下来一年的研究工作中，坚持初心不变，踏踏实实的走好每一步。无论最后是否能完成科研目标，我相信只要努力过，我就会有收获，就会无悔与自己的选择。

尼克胡哲曾经告诉人们，其实每个人的生命都是有个目的的，明白这一点便能帮助他们克服生命中的许多挣扎。生命的意义在于全心全意的投入，这点也是令我感慨颇多的一点，尤其是在高校自杀事件频发的时候，让人不禁想问：现在的学生是怎么了？的确，生命没有那么多的十全十美，当现实打碎幻想，我们只有用一颗强大的内心和对生活的热爱来面对它。相比于尼克胡哲，一个四肢健全的人真的要幸运很多，但反观他们的行为，一点点不如意的事就轻易的放弃自己的生命，从楼上一跃而下，划出的弧线并不是彩虹，而是亲人朋友伤心地坠落，承受力差并不是可以轻易原谅的接口，生命本身，才是最大的愧疚。没有什么坎是跨不过去的，不要为自己的不负责任找借口，全心全意的投入生命才能无悔，才能得到别人的敬重。

正如尼克所说“过去的已经过去，我们改变不了；未来的还未到来，我们也无法把握。”只要坚信和努力，一切皆有可能„„

尼克·胡哲演讲的观后感

在5月18日的学习例会上上，组织观看了关于尼克胡哲的相关视频。尼克·胡哲天生没有手脚，可是他却活得那么的坚强和乐观。凭着他那坚强的意志，获得了两个大学的学士学位！他曾经说过：若上帝没有赐你一个你想要的神迹，那么他其实是想你成为别人的神迹！多么感人的一句话，正是这句话激发了许多残疾人的斗志。更感动了千千万万的正常人！

尼克.胡哲他受过屈辱、被别人歧视、被同学欺负、也曾想过自杀，但他用自己坚强的意志和乐观的精神战胜了自己、战胜了别人。作为办事处的工作人员，本身就是一个特殊的岗位。我在想若我们没有腿和胳膊会怎样？是否我会如他一样选择努力，答案是否定的。毫无疑问，尼克·胡哲的乐观，感动了我；尼克·胡哲的坚强，震撼了我。也让我明白，我将如何面对人生中的挫折，工作中的困难。

首先我们应该拥抱苦难，创造奇迹。生命中的苦难往往是奇迹的温床，奇迹常常伴随苦难而生。不能忘记，在大汉王朝中，有一个握笔的勇士，虽遭宫刑却不屈不挠，苦难囚禁不住 他自由的心灵，他用手中的笔写下了千年的风云变幻，用自己的意志成就了一部“无韵之离骚”！不能忘记，一个双耳失聪，步履蹒跚的老人，用手中的小提琴向世人昭示了生命的奇迹。苦难遏制不住他那喷涌的音乐灵感。他，就是帕格尼尼，这个“琴弦上的魔术师”，用自己的拼搏和激情把自己推到了一个世人无法企及的高度。不能忘记，一个失去双臂、双脚的男人，没有被上帝向他开的“玩笑”打倒。不向命 运低头，用乐观的微笑面对生活，努力使自己和正常人一样甚至超载常人。他去过5个国家，用自己的经历为大家带来了 1500 多次演讲，当他折断了双翼，他没有灰心，没有放弃，而是拥抱苦难，创造奇迹，他就是尼克·胡哲。当幸运女神降临时，我们报以感激的微笑；当不幸敲门而至时，我们也要报以感激的 微笑。我们要感激苦难磨砺了手中的剑，让我们得以更坚强。冰心说：“爱在左，同情在右，走在生命的两旁，随时播种，随时开花，将这一长途点缀得香花弥漫，使穿杖拂叶的行人，踏着荆棘，不觉得痛苦，有泪可落，却不悲凉。”望着不幸不觉得沮丧失落，让所有苦难的记忆在高楼的顶层随风而散。人的一生大概是离不开一些苦难的，而奇迹也常蕴藏在苦难之中。真诚拥抱苦难的人，必定是创造奇迹的人。

其次我们应该拒绝回避，直面人生。“Attitude is everything”（态度决定一切）。

尼克·胡哲告诉我人生因自己而精彩！自己的人生态度决定自己的人生航向，人生因自己的坦然面对而更加绚烂。送走了段考，我们的成绩也许与自己的预想有很大差距，我们苦恼过甚至哭过。鲜红的分数如同利剑一样刺痛自己的眼睛。难道我们就只会用双手在血泪交织的眼睛上揉搓，只懂得嚎啕大哭么？尼克·胡哲告诉我们，纵使有再多的血和泪，也要坚强地站起来，直面人生。每个人的人生都会经历一些坎坷与挫折，但是生命还是要继续，我们要对自己负责，要对自己的人生负责！什么是负责？自己不放弃自己，能够直面人生就是对自己负责的最好诠释。看完尼克胡哲的励志人生故事，我想我们心里应该有所触动。生命不是因美丽而精彩，而是因为精彩才美丽。我们要感激生命的中的困难与挫折，挺起胸膛直面人生，就没有不可 能！

最后要用乐观灌溉心灵的沃土。一条幽岩，曲折迂回中总会激起心旷神怡的向往；一波巨澜，潮起潮落时更能叠出惊 心动魄的鸣响；一种人生，跌宕困顿中方能彰显乐观自信的力量。如果没有四肢，我不知道自己能否肚子料理看似简单的小事儿；如果没有四肢，我不 知道能否承受住别人异样的目光； 如果没有四肢，我不知道自己还能否去追求属于青春的梦 想。但是，这些看似不可能的想法却在尼克·胡哲身上用乐观自信转化成了可能。尼克·胡哲，他是折翼的天使，是破茧而出的蝴蝶，是温暖心灵的阳光。他用坚强书 写着他专属的传奇；他用善良去引导别人走出迷茫，收获希望。他梦想成为一名演讲家，他 希望为别人演讲却被拒绝了 52 次。然而他没有放弃，坚持，为他带来了成功。他说，他想 到了爱迪生试验 9999 次仍不放弃希望，所以他仍要继续。他可以游泳，他可以潜到水下三 十米，他可以冲浪，他可以完成许许多多正常人都做不到的事情，而我们却无法走进他的世 界。马克思说： “人要学会走路，也要学会摔跤，而且只有经过摔跤，他才会学会走路。” 一路走来，尼克·胡哲经历过无数次的失败，他却没有在失败中停滞不前，而是爬起来继续 前进。一次次浸透了泪泉的尝试，让他更加充满斗志，用微笑面对生活，书写自己的多彩人 生。虽然艰辛的路看起来在延续，但是，只要我们充满乐观与自信，这双手一定可以拥抱 光明。

不要抱怨生活、工作如何不尽人意，看看尼克·胡哲的人生经历和生活态度，还能说什么？只要能够认真对待每一份工作，都可以尝到成功的喜悦。只要努力的生活，就会感觉到幸福的味道。要记住：对生活充满希望，永不放弃，爱自己，爱他人！每个一个自己都是最独特的，最美的！
