Dear Admission Office:
I am writing to strongly recommend Miss/Mr. xx for admission into the famous University of Waterloo.
Through teaching and informal consultation, I had chances to get to know her/him academic potentials and her/him ideals before she/he left for Canada. In my opinion she/he can be reliably graded as one of the best undergraduates here in 20xx grade students with majors in our department. Miss/Mr. is apparently a very bright student, with special interests and enjoyment in mathematics especially in passionate and innovative ways of tackling and solving various problems in mathematics. Perhaps her/his present mathematics scores in Canada could support my view. She/he has very good observatory skills in experiments and can easily glean essence from complicated concepts, phenomena or conditions. Enthusiastic for novelty and creative thinkings and as evidence for leadership potentials, she can easily influence her/his classmates in both curricular and extracurricular activities, though only within not a long period before her/his transfer from this institution to another school in Canada, a brave move toward next stage of personal challenge and fulfilment. I was particularly impressed by Miss/Mr. xx career goal of aiming for excellence in academic education and achievements in her/his chosen field.
Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can be of further assistance.

Dear Professor:
I understand that xxx is applying for admission to your Postgraduate Master’s Program, and has requested that I write this letter of recommendation for her.
I have known xxx as a resourceful and goal-oriented individual ever since she attended my Instrumental Analysis course(score:84) in her fourth academic semester. She often raised thought-provoking questions during the course lectures. Thus,it is natural that I like discussing with this young girl and enjoy becoming more familiar with her and her aspirations. In her sixth academic semester, she took my course of Electrochemical Analysis(score:89) more I get to know her, the more I find she is talented at chemistry. With her outstanding talent and solid background in chemistry, she also did quite well in most of her other courses during her undergraduate study. I feel strongly that xxx’s unusual talents and abilities will stand her in good stead for a quality chemistry education, and your university will provide the best opportunities for her.
While at xxx University, xxx had excellent performances in all subjects of her studies and demonstrated great potential, but she is more than a knowledgable bookworm;she is an outstanding leader. She is not only the President of the Student Union in the College of Chemistry, but also the Minister of Commonweal Department of Students’ Association Union of xxx University. She is adept in speech and debate, which give her great capabilities for expression, abstract reasoning, and cooperation. She also took part in and organised many extracurricular activities, such as “Dream Fly” Party of College of Chemistry and Chemical Knowledge Contest of xxx University.
We at xxx University see an optimistic, highly independent, and easy-going character in xxx, with highly unusual determination. She is not to be defeated by any difficulties. She believes that , with hard work, she can achieve anything she wants. I think her confidence in herself is well grounded in her track record.
Judging by what I know of her, I think xxx is fully qualified to pursue a Master’s degree in your program. Therefore,I recommend her with much enthusiasm and I shall greatly appreciate your favorably consideration for her application for admission.
Sincerely.

Dear Admission Officer
As MissXXXXX course instructor in Computer Information Networks, Computer Application System and Digital Library therefore, I take it my pleasure to present you this letter furnishing my commendation on her. Miss Zhang preliminarily attested to her excellence in information retrieval, analysis, integration and computer application in October, , when she assisted me in the network information survey of ‘The Application Status of Mobile Library in China’. As far as I know, she spent a whole week collecting data of mobile library application status of 23 provinces, 4 direct-controlled municipalities, 2 special administrative regions and 5 autonomous regions across the country through the Internet and listed relevant information according to the theory of balanced score card. In her later paper ‘The Practical Significance of Consociation of Traditional Digital Library and Mobile Library—Exemplified by the TWIMS System of Tsinghua University’ published on Library and Information Service, comparison was made from angles of both time and space. Her discourse about the insufficiency in mobile library development in China as well as corresponding solutions was quite incisive and impressive. Having taught Miss Zhang for over two years, I get a good understanding of her independent research ability, innovative ideas and rigorous academic attitude. In the meantime, she showed her particularly amicable personality and cheerful disposition in conducting herself with others. As an excellent student assembled of all the ingredients to further achievements in information studies, Miss Zhang has my strong recommendation. And I am confident of her candidature for your program. Much appreciation for your favorable consideration of her application.

Dear Sir or Madam:
We take great pleasure in recommending Wang Yong, one of my favorite students, for admission into your distinguished graduate program. Mr. Wang was admitted in 1986 at 14 years of age into the SPECWeAL CLASS for the GWeFTED YOUTHS, my university's unique program that caters to the intellectual needs of unusually talented Chinese youngsters. Wet was a rare privilege he earned with his nearly impeccable academic performance through the years of his elementary and secondary school. He impressed me almost as he entered into my university, a major cradle of china's scientific and technological talents. At the time, members of the Gifted Class all had to spend half a month studying by themselves the principles of calculus and then take an exam so that we could evaluate their self-study capability. Mr. Wang scored the highest grade in that exam. He also exhibited a keenly whetted mind during class discussions. To my regret at the time, his English was not as good as his mathematics or physics. But We noticed he made a point of working especially hard in improving his English during his five undergraduate years with us. By now, he seems to be at least as proficient in English as most of his former classmates in the Gifted Class. Wen my experience with Mr. Wang, We was impressed with not only his extraordinary intelligence but also his ambitions and persistence. We am sure that Mr. Wang will be an outstanding student in any doctoral program that he may care to enroll in. So We would like to support him firmly in his quest recommendation into account when considering his application. We would greatly appreciate it you decide to accept him as he wishes. Yours sincerely

Should I Study Abroad?
Every year thousands and thousands of people leave the comforts of their homes to learn English in countries such as the United States, Canada, England, and Australia. Why do they do it?Many feel that by studying a language in a country where it is spoken, they will be able to learn it more quickly.Others feel that studying abroad gives them a kind of prestige in their home country. It may even lead to a better job.And quite a few people want to study abroad for the pure pleasure and excitement it brings. But living and studying in another country can also have its problems.Almost everyone experiences some level of homesickness. And a few people go home earlier than expected because their ideas about living in another country were different from reality. Is learning English abroad something you are interested in?Whether to learn a
language by studying abroad is a big decision. You should be aware of what you are getting into before you start packing your bags.Disadvantages of Studying Abroad
Studying abroad does not mean you will learn English magically. Many people think that they just need to live in another country and they will learn the local language. This is not completely true. You still need to pay attention and study. There are people who live in foreign countries for many, many years without knowing the language well. However, it will probably come to you easier and faster than if you just studied the language in your home country.Studying abroad can be hard. You will probably have times when you miss your family, friends, food, and everything familiar.Almost everyone goes through some culture shock. You will have to realize and accept that it will take some time to adjust to a new way of living.Studying abroad can be expensive. There is no doubt that it takes money to study abroad. It can vary from kind of expensive to very expensive. Most places don't allow international students to work. You will have to have the money before you arrive in the country or have someone from home support you.Is this something that
you and/or your family can afford?
Advantages of Studying Abroad
You are surrounded by English.Yes, you need to pay attention and do some
studying, but everything comes faster when you do because English is everywhere-on the streets, in the stores, on the TV-you can't get away from it.Your eyes are opened to the world. We often grow up thinking that our way of doing things is the only way, or sometimes the best way.But living in a new culture helps us realize new ways of doing things, and also helps us to see that even though we are different, we are all human. And in many cases, not only will you get to know the natives of the country you are visiting, you may get to know classmates from all over the world. You learn to take care of yourself.Living in another country, even if it is with a host family, means you might be doing things you may not have done in your home country. These include cooking, cleaning, grocery shopping, washing clothes, figuring out transportation, making living arrangements, setting up accounts for cell phones and utilities, etc.You may think of this as a disadvantage, but many international students go home proud that they have become very self sufficient.Your life will be forever changed. One of the greatest things that happens when you do something as big as live in another country is-you become a changed person-your outlook on life is different.Your new maturity can help lead you to new places in your life. You make memories that will last a lifetime.Your pictures, journals, and souvenirs will help you remember your time abroad, but your memories and emotions of this special time will also be a part of your life until you are very old.So how can you know if studying abroad is right for you?First, start by talking to people who have already done it.Of course everyone will have his or her own experience and point of view, but it can be really helpful to hear what other people have to say.If you don't know anyone who has studied abroad, ask others about their experiences through the internet.Dave's ESL Cafe is a good place to start. If you do decide that you are interested in going abroad, take a look at websites likeandto search for schools and get advice on where to go.Studying abroad can really change your life. And hopefully if you decide to do it, it will be a wonderful experience for you.Learning needs to go abroad to spend alot of money and effort. But many young people in particular, for some students still aspire to be able to go abroad to study.Nowadays more and more young people are going to study abroad.Like everything else, studying abroad has both favorable and unfavorable aspects.Generally, the favorable aspects can be listed as follows.Firstly, they think by attending acollege in aforeign country they can learn not only useful knowledge, but also the culture and customs of other nations.Secondly, they can take advantage of this opportunity to gain agood command of the foreign language they are learning very quickly. Moreover, they can meet different people and experience different cultures, which may help to broaden their views.Every coin has two sides. The negative aspects are also apparent. The costs are much higher than those in their native country. Most overseas students have to work for aliving, which can't allow them to pay all their attention to study. What's more, they may feel very lonely.Through above analysis,we can see that the positive aspects outweigh the negative ones. Therefore,I am in favor of going abroad to study.
