At dusk，the weather became colder while the sky was gray，and the cold wind was blowing strongly.It seemed that it was going to snow soon.A moment later，the snowflakes began to fall quietly.Soon the land before my eyes was all white，like a beautiful blanket.Then it snowed more and more heavily.The trees were all covered with white quilts.The whole city became a silver world.The next morning，it stopped snowing and cleared up.I went into the yard.Looking far away，I saw a beautiful silver white world.A group of children were playing happily.Some were throwing snowballs to each other，others were making a snowman.Snow seemed to bring us warm and wishes.Cold as it was，nobaby felt cold in the white world.I love snow，because it is pure white.It brings us hope and vigour.雪黄昏，天气变冷，天空变成灰色，冷风强劲地吹着。似乎很快就要下雪了。

There is a curious stir, a little shiver of excite-ment, troubling the house, not unlike the feeling there is abroad when a journey has to be made.The children, of course, are all excitement but even the adults hang about and talk to one another longer than usual before setting down to the day’s work.Nobody can resist the windows.It is like being on board a ship.

Feeling in snow As soon as I walked outside, I was GREeted with the shimmering(1)white blanket of cold.Despite the chill overwhelming(2)my skin, inside I was warm.I felt as though I could be giving off(3)heat;I had the desire to stay out in this freeze for hours.It was the type of day that speaks to you through its elements;I took a deep breath to hear more snow was coming.As I walked I looked up, trying to realize what made this day so beautiful, so serene.It was as if time had been put temporarily on hold and I along with it.Or maybe I was the only one unpaused Either way, the solitude(4)was comforting, and I sensed myself floating away.I sat down on the edge of a curb(5)and listened.All there was to hear was the wind rushing over the top of my head and circling some old, cracking leaves some yards away.To me it was the reassuring sound of nature, trying not to be forgotten.It did start to snow.None of those little flurries(6), but big, fat flakes(7)which clung(8)immediately to their surface.then it was time to go and my reverie(9)had to end.As I began walking again, I drifted back into this time frame, calm and cleared.Now if only I could remember where I was going.雪天随想

刚出门，便扑面而来一大片晶莹雪白的冰凉。冷气袭来，肌肤阵阵战栗，而内心却温暖如初。觉得自己似乎能发热，因而渴望在这寒冷中长时间的伫足。这是一个大自然与你交流的日子。我深深地吸了一口气，静听雪花飘落，源源不绝

漫步雪中，举目四顾，我努力思索是什么竟然能够把这一天变得如此美丽和宁静。那一刻，时间仿佛停止了，而我也定在其中。或者，只有我一个人在前行

无论如何，这种孤寂却令人欣慰。我仿佛脱离了尘世。坐在路边，仔细聆听。只有风从头顶掠过，卷走几码远的干枯树叶。在我心中，这是大自然给人安慰、令人难忘的声音。

真的下雪了！不是零星小雪，而是鹅毛大雪，一落地就凝结在一起了。

该结束沉思离开了！我举步前行时，思绪又转回到现实中来，而此时感觉如此平静，如此清新。

我实在记不得我要往何处去了！注释：1．Shimmering：shimmering是一个动名词，它的动词形式是shimmer，表示闪光、闪亮等意思。Moonlight shimmering on the lake(湖上月光闪烁)。shimmer也可做名词，如：the shimmer of pearls(珍珠的闪光)。在这里shimmering翻译成晶莹的，用来形容雪花。2．Overwhelm：征服、使受不了。想想看，当寒冷overwhelm你时，你皮肤的反应会是什么呢？战栗呗。3．Give off：发出的意思，give off a bad smell(发出恶臭)。Give thick smoke off(冒出浓烟)。4．Solitude：有孤单、寂寞、独居、隐居等意思。我们都知道lonely是孤独的的意思，它表示一种令人难受的孤独。而solitude有时是一种美好的感觉，要不怎么会有那么多人隐居呢？5．Curb：路缘、路边的意思。6．Flurry：小阵雪。7．Flake：松软薄片，a flake of snow(一片雪花)。Fall in flakes(一片一片地落下)。8．Cling ：cling(to)的意思是粘着、缠着，the mud clung to her shoes(泥浆粘在她的鞋上)。9．Reverie：幻想、沉思，如：Have a reverie about the delicious nuts.(幻想着美味果仁)。Be lost in reverie（陷入沉思）。

小学寒假作文：雪

今年的冬天特别冷，每个地方都连下暴风雪，听说是50年难遇。而我们台州就是不下雪，我每天都是盼星星，盼月亮，盼着快点下场雪。

终于把雪盼来了，起先是一点一点的，接着纷纷扬扬越下越大。我想留点雪做纪念，于是我跑到厨房去拿脸盆。

妈妈奇怪的问：你拿脸盆做什么？

接雪。

用脸盆不如用雨伞来得多妈妈说。

我觉得妈妈说的有理，于是我又开始找雨伞。爸爸看见了也奇怪的问：你在找什么。

找雨伞接雪

小傻瓜，这么小的雪是接不住的，等你接住了它马上就会化成水了爸爸说。我听了又觉得有道理，干脆啥也不做，直直的站在门口望着雪一片片的从空中飘落，就象浮萍靠不到岸。一直下到晚上，明天早上就起来堆雪人啦。正当我把着如意算盘的时候，雪停了。

这次的雪不大，但是也看见久违的雪，我十分满足了。
