The Chinese people are going through a tough period of time, fighting against the H7N9 flu virus and Ya an earthquake in Sichuan province.At this critical moment, our dreams have become the most important theme for the future development of China.Why dreams are so important for a person?

In 1943, psychologist Abraham Maslow published his now-famous need hierarchy theory of motivation.Although the theory was based on his clinical observation of a few neurotic individuals, it has subsequently been used to explain the entire spectrum of human behavior.Maslow proposed that motivation is a function of five basic needs-physiological, safety, love, esteem, and self-actualization.Let’s look at the pyramid.Accordingly, when one’s physiological needs are relatively satisfied, the safety needs emerge.Climbing up the pyramid, the love and esteem needs are satisfied until the need for self-actualization is activated.That is to become the best one is capable of becoming.In other words, your dream has been fulfilled on that stage.As far as I am concerned, I dream that one day I can be a successful politician.Albert Einstein said “success comes from 99% of diligence and 1% of inspiration”.Don’t neglect the 1% of inspiration, it contains all the dreams, creativity and curiosity from the bottom of the heart.Although some people say that politics is

full of conflict and conspiracy, I believe politics has its unique charm.To be the prime minister of China, one has to have comprehensive knowledge.History, economics, culture, religion and language skills are all categories of his personal knowledge backgrounds.But in order to equip himself with all these qualities, he has to be ambitious.Ambition is the most important quality for a man to achieve his self-actualization.Let me give you an example, one of my classmates went to Shanghai to fulfill his dream to become a fashion designer because he love clothes very much.He tried his best to get a bachelor’s degree in textile engineering so that he understood well about the real quality of materials.Although he has a long way to go before becoming a fashion designer, the dream is still shining in his heart to lead his way towards the red carpet.Maybe he won’t achieve his goal because it depends on many occasional factors, like opportunities, competition and economic conditions.It won’t hinder him from pursuing his dream.We are all familiar with Van Gogh’s story and let’s go back to the pyramid.Judging from the four needs, he didn’t fulfill his physiological needs, because he had to be supported by his family members all his life.In terms of safety, love and esteem, we can see that he was fighting to satisfy himself but failed.Even a

prostitute looked down upon him so that he had to cut one of his ears to cater to her.But he said: “the purpose of my painting is not to be accurate but to strongly showcase myself.”his paintings have been recognized by human beings, he has achieved his self-actualization after his death.Last but not the least，I hope every sweet dream can find its way to come true.

Dreams vs Reality Nowadays,there is a popular saying on the Internet: ‘Dreams are very full,while reality is so skinny.’Especially those who graduate from college not very long,think this saying is the very reflect of present situation in our society.University graduates now are facing great challenge in looking for jobs.Perhaps when they just went into university ,they had a dream of finding a good job,earning a large sum of money,living a weathy life……But the results are realistic.For example , Self condition is not excellent enough,job supplies can’t afford so many job hunters.All these factors block the accomplishment of dreams.All of us have diversities of dreams from childhood to now,such as being a scientist ,being a millionnare……But as time goes on,few of our dreams can be achieved.Gradually,we become more and more realistic.Many people even hold the view that ‘Dreams are the game of children.Reality is the right way of adults.’

However , ladies and gentlemen,is dream really fantasy and useless?Obviously,the answer is no.Throughout history, the White brothers dreamt about flying ,then they invented the first plane in the world.King Martin Luther had a strong dream,then he overthrow the racial discrimination.Our ancestors had a romantic dream of chasing the moon,then we eventually launched Chang E One and saw the full landscape of the moon.All these dreams were next to impossible and against the reality at that

time.But

they succeeded.Without doubt,dreams important role.There is such a saying ‘If your dreams are strong enough ,you can change the direction of wind.’Though this saying is somewhat exaggrerated, it shows the very importance of dreams.In my opinion , dreams are like a beacon, illuminate our way in the future.While reality,I think , is like brambles, which hold up our steps forward.But as long as we remove these brambles, the way will be expanded.If some barriers can’t be removed, such as a rough river, then we can depend on tools ,like a boat ,or just change the way.For example, Luxun abandoned medicine for literature , realizing his dream of waking up those sleeping people.Therefore , to be successful in the future , we not only need to face the reality, but also need to harbour dreams.And to make our dreams become reality, we should experience a series of procedures.First , recognize the reality, don’t run away from it.Believe , the cruel realiy is to test and improve you.Second, think about your dreams, choose what you are interested in as your dream, then the greatest passion and excitement of you will be inspired.Finally and above all, keep working on our dreams, never say give up.To do this well , we must possess many qualities, like diligence, strong will , inspiration...,all these qualities are tools which help remove the barriers in reality.So,ladies and gentleman , don’t be afraid of reality, don’t hesitate about your dreams, it’s up to us to change our future.Remember , we are the 90’s,we will rock the world!
