the highest mountain he has ever seen. When the prince calls out, his echo answers him, and he mistakes it for the voices of other humans. He begins to feel that he is not a great prince at all, as his planet contains only three tiny volcanoes and a flower he now thinks of as common. He lies down in the grass and weeps. As the prince cries, a fennec fox comes across him.The prince tames the fox, who explains to him that his rose really is unique and special, because she is the one whom the prince loves. The fox also explains that, in a way, the prince has tamed the flower, and that this is why the prince now feels responsible for her. Then the prince decided to return his planet. The narrator is dying of thirst, but finds a well with the help of the prince. The
narrator later finds the prince discussing his return home with the snake. The prince warns the narrator not to watch him leave, as it will make him sad.The narrator, realizing what will happen, refuses to leave the prince's side. The prince allows the snake to bite him, and falls without making a sound. The next morning, the narrator tries to look for the prince, but is unable to find his body. This is a fairy tale written for adults, a fairy tale about love and responsibility..The little prince can’t understand the odd adult. So the author said to give this book to the adult who once was a child. All grown—ups were once children—although few of them remember it.The characters in this book symbolize different people in human society. And from these characters we can find lots of lust, greed, mean, numbness and so on.They weren’t as innocent as child any longer. The little prince doesn’t like those people, and can’t understand why they want to pursue such boring things like power, fame, money, and figure. The little prince loves his petty rose, although the
rose is vanity.“If some one loves a flower, of which just one single blossom grows in all the millions and millions of stars, it is enough to make him happy just to look at the stars. He can say to himself, 'Somewhere, my flower is there.Everyone has this feeling because everyone has something or somebody to cherish and miss. The fox is my favorite character. He let the prince realized his rose is unique. He says, “To me, you are still nothing more than a little boy who is just like a hundred thousand other little boys. And I have no need of you.And you, on your part, have no need of me.To you, I am nothing more than a fox like a hundred thousand other foxes. But if you tame me, then we shall need each other. To me, you will be unique in the world. To you, I shall be unique in the world…” The fox also says, “It is only with the heart that one can see rightly;what is essential is invisible to the eye." The little prince then knows he must be responsible to which he tamed. So he leave the fox to find his rose, but he forget that he has already tamed the lonely fox.Time flies, we have lost too many nice things, such as purity, innocent. We do things for getting something, but not just love it.Form this book, we may know what should be cherished.
