Wealth gap
Nowadays, the widening gap between the rich and the poor is not simply a fact but also a social problem. In China, everyone has been talking about it and eager to find a quick-fix to solve the problem once and for all.Unfortunately, it’s not always so simple.Years are gone and solutions failed us.I don’t deny that thanks to the economic growth, Chinese people have lived a better life. However, the economy is not the only thing growing: so too is the wealth inequality. Before I went to college my perception or my feelings of wealth gap is not that clear.I thought that was far away from my life, but now I can feel it.Just take a look at people around us.Some people born rich and inherit wealth while for others the poverty seems to be the only heritage.Subsequently, the opportunities of education and the rights of occupation for them are imbalanced. The society is far more complicated beyond our expectation. There are social relationships, unseen rules and shortcuts. Thus, the way for the poor to succeed seems harder and dooms to be a tough one.We have observed that some rich people are was raking in hundreds of dollars a day for doing nothing, but the poor are working so hard for few salary to provide for a whole family.Being in such unfair society, the poor people have no choice but to work hard and pin hope on second generation.Usually, education is expected to change their ill fortune. As one saying goes that knowledge changes fate.So as far as i’m concerned, enhancing the development of education, changing elite education to mass education and popularizing higher education can narrow the gap gradually. In my opinion, the government needs to reform the educational system with measures that can show immediate effect.Cutting tuition and other expenses proves to be most beneficial to students.Further, colleges and other educational institutions have to provide more financial tools to assist students from poor areas.Besides the above, the government need to encourage charitable enterprises, deepen reform on social welfare, tax system and income distribution system.Last but not least, the government should strictly enforce laws to eliminate corruption.
