第一篇:全国英语演讲大赛 第六名 最佳风度奖 演讲稿 纯英无误
Never Lose the Vision of Reality
Good afternoon, Ladies and gentlemen,My topic today is Never Lose the Vision of Reality.Talking about dreams and future, I would say, dreams should never be too far away from reality.Detaching from reality, lacking solid or practical actions, any future plan or dream project will be nothing short of daydreaming, or, at most well-intentioned thinking. Here I am reminded the year of 2000, when 191 member states of the United Nations held a World Summit Conference, which made a declaration known as the Millennium Development Goals. The goals of 2015, which every member state pledged to meet, were such as, elimination of hunger and poverty, drastic reduction in child mortality rates, reversing a spread of AIDS and other deadly diseases, etc. Now, six years later, almost half way to the final year of 2015, do we see any signs of realizing these goals? Today, half the world-about three billion people, still live under two U.S.dollars a day;about 270 million children have no access to safe water, 11 million children die before they reach the age of five each year.Do we come to harness the spread of the AIDS? The answer is also “no”-and indeed AIDS is spreading faster and wider than ever before. What is even worse, with the wake of the Iraqi War, the nuclear crisis in Iran and unsettled situations in many places, the visions of us young people today are often limited-but the limited vision(that)we do have and care about every day
cannot change the conviction that this world does not seem to promise a very bright future before us.Who is to blame for all this? Of course, we can blame the government: how they… disappointing they all seem to be: in one moment they are pledging to build a better future for us, and the other moment they’re igniting wars, killing more innocent people. But don’t you think we ordinary folks should also take some responsibilities for, say, elimination of hunger and poverty? When we are quickly rushing to schools, works, or places of entertainment, how many times do we stop just to hand over some food to the deprived on the streets? When we are reading newspaper, browsing for news about what is going on in this world, how often do we stop to think about actual ways that we can do to help the people who’re suffering from various disastrous situations? In fact, how much have we done to help the people who are in need just around us? Dreams are certainly beautiful and indispensable in our life, for they give us inspiration and motivation.Future plans are certainly necessary, for they provide us with goals and guides. But what is most beautiful and important is an action on a day-to-day basis. In order to realize our dreams or make our future goals realized, we need to put our words into deeds and base our vision on reality. In other words, while human beings should be, first and foremost, idealists and thinkers, we should also be, and all the more, realists and practical doers.Thank you.

Good afternoon
Ladies and gentleman, two thousand years ago, the Chinese philosopher, Confucius, advocated a harmonious society without selflessness and conflicts.Fifteen hundred years later, the English author, Tomas More, wrote about an imaginary place in which everyone enjoys peace equality and common wealth. These and various other ideal worlds have something in common: peace, love and harmony.Such has been a dream of human beings throughout the world. And we have been long working hard toward this goal.History has witnessed numerous wars and even today some parts of the world are still suffering from the threats of conflicts.Such a dream, however, has only been going stronger instead of going awry. When the athletes from North and South Korea walked into the Olympic field hand in hand, handing one flag of Korean peninsula, they together lit the torch to end the half-century’s conflicts. It is true there are still many problems in the world-Problems of too complicated roots to be solved at once.As we all know, some small countries are being bullied by big power now and then;but at the same time we see protests being staged all over the world. The nuclear power has caused unstable equilibrium but the cold war has made us aware that what a desolate future the world would have if nuclear war to break out.Racial discrimination and religious conflicts still prevail, but as far as I know, no religion in the world teaches people to hate or fight, indeed, reality is always far from ideal. But the problems are nor altogether unsolvable. We human beings are blessed with reasonand have the confidence that the light of reason will eventually disperses the dark and shadows with economy is growing at an amazingly fast rate in the last two decades.China is now facing with both tremendous opportunities as well as challenges. An important charge of mindset is that china is learning to be critical of its own problems and more concerned with addressing these problems, public opinion has been so active abs constructive as it is now.Self-criticism and a sense of crisis is a sign of maturity and self-confidence.Chinese visionaries are now advocating green GDP and attaching great importance to social development that emphasizes human beings. So it is not hard to see the direction in which china is moving.Policymaking is getting more down to earth.Corruption is still being fought hard and concepts such as due process and human rights are working their way into public consciousness. So, with all these efforts going on, sure and steady, there is good reason to believe that china’s future will be bright.Last week, a forum was held in Beijing, the theme is Chinese dream and a harmonious world. The message is that all Chinese have a dream and that dream is peace and propensity and the realization of this dream will contribute to the harmony of the whole world.Thank you very much.

Good afternoon,Ladies and gentlemen, I have a friend who just started his career as a teacher in a primary school.Weeks age he came and ask me to raise a topic for his mid-term composition test.I was curious why he chose me, because he is a teacher himself. My friend said that he wanted something that the students can really show their different ideas.Without thinking, I asked him to let his students to write about what they would do if they were given one million U.S.dollars, my friend left with satisfaction and I fell into my old memories.(tell a story related to his core problem of speech that he will discussed next)
It reminded me of my time in primary school.(the transfer from the story above to personal experience)In our Chinese class, our teacher required us to write a composition with the topic “my most unforgettable day” with our real experience. When papers came back, half of the students wrote about the first day they came to school. The rest were all about picking up money on the streets and giving it to policemen or helping a blind man cross the street.Of course;I was among them.(a sense of humor)But I remember every clearly that one student, only one student gave something different. He wrote about the day that he first kiss a girl.I read his composition. After all these years, I can’t remember every word, but I dare to say that Shakespeare may not be able to write equally well when he was 11 years old.(adapt hyperbole here, compare the child with Shakespeare, interesting and inspire audience’s mood)But the kid was scored zero. The composition was written out of real experience and genuine emotion. But our teacher thought the content was “unhealthy”.I am sure you know the Chinglish meaning of this word “unhealthy”.That was 15 years ago.You read about this composition and you feel that half of our population are blind, so all these kids can have a chance to help a blind man cross the street and everyone of us has a hole in our pocket, so all these kids have a chance to pick up lost money and give it the policemen.(Filled with humor as well as worries)
A few days ago, my friend sent me an e-mail of all the copies of his students’ compositions.I have to say, I was sadly disillusioned.Among these papers, 40% students said that they would donate their money to people in poverty, so their children can have a chance to go to school. The rest were much more like. Some wanted to support Panda Protection Project and some wanted to read books to enlarge their knowledge. One student even said that he would like to spend his one million U.S.dollars on the effort to cure AIDS.I was more than astonished to know that a ten-year-old child knew what AIDS really is.Of course, that was a long time ago.(Funny but arise people’s worries about Chinese education and children’s future)
It has always been our dream to open the hearts of our children.I encourage them to describe their dream and we act in the way as if we are always ready to accept their thoughts. However, children are scared by the zero marked on their papers. They are trained to say what we want to hear.(show personal worries and care about next generation-our nation’s future)People compare children to flowers of tomorrow. And parents do dream about the scenery that roses, tulips, daffodils flourish in the future. But down the road we are going on in the future, or the future of future, only one kind of flower can be found. And that is the flower we like most.(show an imagine of future’s bad situation to raise people’s attention and emphasize on education problem again)Thank you!
Summery

Dream for ourselves
Good afternoon: Ladies and gentlemen, the topic of my speech today is Dreams of Ourselves. In the first day of my English oral course, our teacher asked us to think about what we would be doing ten years from now, go to America and marry an American girl, a guy student said.He thought it might one of the best ways to learn English well.I may be raising my children with some freelance work to boot, uttered one of my roommates, who was unanimously voted by us to be our “ miss angel in the house”.What about you, Richard, our teacher turned to the walking dictionary of our class.I may be taking up your position and busy being a respected professor. The whole class roared with laughter, our teacher laughed, too. What beautiful dreams we used to have. But now, everybody is busy doing double major, stuffing their heads with straight As internships, exchange programs. The once vigorous and diversified voices have thinned into one: be the one that suits need of the job market.Ladies and gentlemen, it means the dreams should relevant to reality. But now, aren’t we college students too much bound by this reality? If dreams are simply reality shows, can they still be called dreams? A couple weeks ago, I read the story of Ma Yan, who had to drop out of school because of poverty. She said she wanted to go to school so that her family could live a better life. However, growing up impressed by Martin Luther king’s I have a dream talk and the Chinese proverb that everyone is born to be somebody. My classmates and I may think that we are less driven than this starving little girl. But aren’t we making any difference, if we are not being true to ourselves?
Ladies and gentlemen, Steven jobs, CEO of apple computer, once said, our time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else life.I think it’s especially true with us twenty something, who are sort of feeling disoriented in face of dream and reality. The other night, my roommate complained to me what little memory she would have for her college days.True! The dreams may become tomorrow’s reality and the day after tomorrow’s memory. But if we are not dreaming for ourselves, where can the memory come from? And plus, if we can not even master our own dreams, how can we master the future of our society?
Ladies and gentlemen, with the advance in science and technology, we are faced with dilemma than ever, the controversy over surrogate mothers;the right way to treat animals;the pros and cons of the online pop culture. There might be never definite answers to these questions, but how we judge and envision them to be will decide the future of us all.Luckily, I have found my dream, that is, to be a journalist. To be honest with you, it has something to do with Ma Yan, whose story was reported by a French journalist in the first place. He is the one that bridged Ma Yan’s reality and her dream.I also want to be a bridge of this kind, and this dream in mind, I know I’ll have not only a future ahead, but also a precious memory behind. That’s end of my speech.Thank you very much.这是来自上海复旦大学的胡懿选手,第九名。她的演讲 结合个人的生活,朴实干净的语句却闪烁着她的真挚情感和对生活的思考。是一篇极具感染力的演讲稿。
