【内容提要】英语阅读教学是高中英语教学中的一个重点和难点。通过教学实践和“阅读技巧对比实验”，帮助学生学会获取文章信息，树立学习英语的信心，培养阅读兴趣，扩大词汇量，最终达到提高阅读能力的目的。

一、实验的提出和目的在高中英语教学过程中，教师如何指导学生以教科书为蓝本，强化阅读训练，增加词汇量的累积，促进听、说、读、写四种基本能力的提高，尤其是阅读能力的培养，已经成为广大英语教师共同关注的重要问题。人教版高级中学英语 “阅读训练”编写说明中明确指出：阅读是一种能力，又是语言学习的方法。学生到了高中阶段，要侧重培养阅读能力。
人们对语言的使用能力，主要不是通过“学习”（learning）获得的，而是通过“习得”（acquisition）获得的。习得是在自然的交际环境中使用语言的潜意识过程。如果没有习得，语言能力难以培养。理解语言所表达的意义的过程就是习得的过程。而英语作为一种语言，也不例外，它不是简单的“学”，而是通过不断地、反复地练习，在潜移默化的训练中逐渐形成的。由此可见，教授学生阅读技巧，通过大量的、有针对性的练习，不仅有利于学生对英语进一步理解和吸收书面信息，扩大词汇量，丰富语言知识，了解英语国家的社会文化背景，更有利于学生在这一过程中形成用英语进行思维的模式，帮助学生养成良好的阅读习惯，提高理解、分析、推理判断的能力，以达到培养学生创新性学习的目的。从近几年的NMET试卷的阅读理解题上，我们不难发现阅读理解题的难度正在逐年提高，体现了阅读理解能力的重要性，加强对阅读技巧的训练和阅读速度的训练已成为阅读教学的重中之重。让学生有针对性地对阅读技巧进行训练，有了技巧才能在阅读速度上得到提高，在考试中赢得时间。再者，阅读难度及阅读速度的提高很可能是今后试题的命题方向，教师除应通过课堂阅读技巧教学外，1还应引导学生运用所学的阅读技巧进行大量的课外阅读，从而把阅读教学与英语测试有机地结合起来。
根据我所任课班级学生的实际情况，从尊重学生个体差异的角度出发，针对学生不同的个性特征与心理倾向，不同的知识基础与接受能力，运用不同的阅读技巧进行训练，让学生的阅读能力在原有的基础上都有了不同程度的加强和提高。在此实验中，主要采用两种阅读技巧进行对比实验：
1、先文后题法。即直接看题目，然后再到文章当中找寻答案。
2、先文章，后题目，再回到文章的方法。即首先快速浏览文章，获取大意，然后看题目，把握问题，最后带着问题再回到文章获取正确信息。
二、理论依据
《高中英语教学大纲》明确指出：高中英语教学侧重培养阅读能力，广泛、大量和快速的阅读可以帮助理解和吸收书面信息、巩固记忆，也有助于扩大词汇量，丰富语言知识以及了解英语国家的社会背景等。
阅读能力在没有他人参与的境界中让学生接受足够量的语言输入，增加词汇、短语、语法知识的复现率，增大语言的有效应用频率，丰富语言经验，让学生借助它，实质上是读者与作者所描述的大千世界的自然交际活动来掌握语言，并最终将生成阅读能力，并由此辐射语言其他能力的提高。
新的《国家英语课程标准》的基本理念之一是：突出学生主体，尊重个体差异。
三、实验原则
（一）尊重个体差异因材施教
从学生实际出发，尊重个体差异，因材施教，帮助不同层次的学生养成良好的阅读习惯，掌握科学的阅读技巧。
（二）树立信心激发学习兴趣
教育学家们认为，教学效果的好坏在很大程度上取决于学生的内在心理状态。教师要适时的对不同层次的学生、不同心理状态的学生进行鼓励和指导，帮助学生树立信心，从而激发学生对英语的学习兴趣。
四、实验过程
（一）实验目标
1、通过选取一些生动有趣的、和生活密切相关的阅读材料，激发学生的阅读兴趣，养成良好的阅读习惯，配以科学的阅读技巧，以此来达到《高中英语教学大纲》的要求。
2、通过阅读大量不同题材的文章，增加词汇和相应数量的短语，从而扩大知识面，从阅读中了解社会、科学、经济、文化、历史、地理等知识，形成信息积累。
3、当阅读积累到一定量时，阅读的速度和正确率就会得到相应的提高。因此，只有要求学生不断完善解答问题的技巧，才能从整体上适应阅读测试的要求。
（二）实验前的测试和实验对象的确定
实验选用高二（3）、（4）班两个理科班作为实验对象，以高二下学期市内统考期末成绩为对比数据，进行记录和统计。此份试卷，考试时间为120分钟，总分为100分，其中阅读（包括阅读理解和完形填空）占45分。

从此表可以看出，两个班级的成绩相差不大。
本着以学生为实验主体，尊重学生自由选择阅读技巧的实验原则，（3）班学生选择了第二种阅读技巧，而（4）班学生选择了第一种阅读技巧。
（三）实验的实施
在接下来的一个学期中，从以下方面分别对两个班进行有针对性和有侧重性的阅读技巧训练。
1、精选材料，激发兴趣
两班学生共享阅读资源，精选各种课外阅读材料，激发学生阅读兴趣。选材除了注意内容广泛，可读性强，易激发学生阅读兴趣等标准外，还应注意选材多样，内容丰富；篇幅较强，难度适中；材料新颖有时效性，针对性强。根据循序渐进的阅读原则，近一个学期的时间里指导学生阅读了大量材料，文章体裁多样，记叙文、说明文，议论文等多种题材的文章，开阔了学生的视野，增强了学生解决问题的能力，了解了更多关于英语国家人文、地理等背景知识，树立了学生的学习信心。
2、“学法指导”与“自主阅读”相结合学生阅读能力的提高，离不开教师的指导。由于（3）班、（4）班学生分别选用了不同的阅读技巧，教师在学生进行阅读训练时，除了针对两个班学生不同的阅读技巧进行训练外，还要求学生改掉不良习惯，比如回眸重读、倒读、出声阅读、手指阅读和摇头阅读，帮助学生养成良好的阅读习惯。
在训练中，针对（3）班选择的阅读技巧，分为三步训练法。第一步，浏览。训练学生遇到有目录、小标题、前言等的文章，要先对其进行阅读。然后对正文进行浏览，注意文章的开头、结尾，寻找文章的主题句和结论，先总体了解文章的重要信息。第二步，看题目。要求学生根据题目初步获得的信息，缩小答题范围，并带着这些问题再去阅读。第三步，回看。要求学生带着问题，在文章中有针对性地、仔细地进行阅读，找到问题的相关线索，从而得出答案。
（4）班的所用阅读材料与（3）班基本相同，针对（4）班选择的训练技巧，在训练时分为两步。第一步，看题目。先看文章的题目，弄清题目所问。第二步，带着问题有意识地去看文章，并获取相应的问题答案。当然，如果在所阅读到的文章中，遇到有目录、小标题、前言等，也得首先浏览，以达到获取文章大意的目的。
两个班每次训练完成后，还要求学生归纳文章的中心思想和段落纲要，及时复习——“温故而知新”，加深了对课外文章的理解和认识能力，巩固了新词汇，弥补遗漏之处。同时，大部分学生还养成了良好的阅读习惯，克服了把文字变成声音，再去想其意义的阅读习惯，提高了学生的阅读速度和正确率，增强了语感。
五、实验效果与分析
通过近一个学期的训练，学生在以下方面得到了相应的提高：
1、学生增加了接触英语的机会，扩大了词汇量，扩展了知识面，了解了更多英语国家的背景知识，达到了训练目的。
2、2007年1月贵阳市高三英语会考，试卷总分100分，其中阅读（包括阅读理解和完形填空）占45分，成绩如下：

从此表可以看出，两个班的阅读成绩有了不同层次的提高，（3）班的测后平均分高于测前平均分7.59分，提高率到达27.57%。（4）班的测后平均分高于测前平均分高6.48分，提高率为26.29%。从现有数据看，学生在实际的阅读训练中基本能熟练地运用阅读技巧，阅读成绩在原有基础上得到了不同层次的提高。另外，在2007年1月贵阳市高三英语会考中，（3）班一次性合格率为100%，优分率为50%；（4）班一次性合格率为96.97%，优分率为36.36%。从数据上到达了实验的预期目的。
3、由于两班学生在进入高三学习后，强烈的阅读需求和教师在训练中注意选材，激发了学生的阅读兴趣等诸多因素下，大部分学生不再觉得课外阅读是一种负担，而是积极主动地进行阅读和做题，实现了培养阅读兴趣，由被动的“逼我学” 变为主动的“我想学，我要学”，90%左右的学生认为阅读是很有意义的事，有超过60%的学生养成了每天阅读的习惯。
六、实验反思
阅读技巧在两班的实验中都有了反馈，我们从表二中不难对比出，采用“先文章——后题目——再回到文章”方法的（3）班，与采用“先题后文”方法的（4）班，在阅读成绩的提高上（3）班快于（4）班。由此也引发了对这两种阅读技巧的思考。
在阅读教学和阅读训练中，两种技巧并不能完全分开使用，应互相渗透，互为补充，不同的题型可以使用不同的方法。例如，广告一类的阅读题，可以采用“先题后文”的方法，即先看题目。弄清题目所问，然后带着问题回看文章，找到相关信息。此类题用这种方法更能在提高阅读速度的同时又能保证正确率。而考细节题或是考文章主旨大意的题则要选用“先文章，后题目，再回到文章”的方法，要求学生在短时间内首先完成对文章浏览，获取文章大意，然后看题目弄清题意，再回到文章中相应的信息处寻找答案。由此可见，两个实验班接下来的阅读训练中，应让两种方法互相渗透，互为补充，帮助学生针对不同的题型，学会选用不同的解题方法，使学生在阅读上得到更进一步的提高。
