Good morning, teachers, I feel honored to have the chance to share my ideas about how to teach Word Power of Unit 2, Advance with English, Student’s Book 1.My teaching plan will include 7 parts.Part 1 Analysis of the teaching material:

1.The Ss have known something about differences between American English and British English through the Internet and other ways while they are lack of vocabulary in colloquialism.2.The Ss are curious about the new knowledge and have the ability to imitate new things, but they are bored with doing the same thing.3.Some Ss are not active in the class because they aren’t confident or they are afraid of making mistakes.Part 3 Teaching aims:
1.Knowledge aim:
To enable students to tell some differences between American English and British English.To make students learn some more important colloquialisms apart from the ones in the text.2.Ability aim:
To help them learn how to apply them in English learning so that it can improve their listening ,speaking, reading and writing skills.3.Emotion aim:

Teaching methods:
In order to realize the teaching process properly and efficiently, I will adopt the following methods: task-Based Language Teaching method ask-and-answer activity teaching method
pair work group competition.Teaching theories :
I’ll do my best to carry out the following theories:
Make the Ss the real actors in class while the teacher acts as a director;
Combine the language structures with the language functions;
Let the students receive some moral education while they are learning the English language.Learning methods
As senior students, they grasp a certain number of words and phrases, but they are expected to learn more, so most of time should be spent in improving their integrated skills.The teacher should do the following things:
To teach them to communicate with each other in English, to finish the task independently, to develop their speaking, listening and reading skills and let students form a good learning habit.In a word, I will combine the teaching methods with the learning methods.Part 5 Teaching aids:
1.multimedia
2.the blackboard
Part 6 Teaching procedures
The teaching procedures include four steps.They’re lead-in, Vocabulary learning, Vocabulary extension , homework.Step1.Lead-in
In order to arouse their interest and make my class lively, I will invite students to watch two videos---a part of the movie «Harry Porter» and Obama’s opening speech.Then I will ask them, “Have you found any difference between American English and British English in pronunciation? Could you list the other differences you know?”
Step 2.Vocabulary learning
Task1:Group competition
First, encourage students to remember the examples listed on Page 26.Then I will divide the class into four groups to have a competition.If the group spells the word questioned correctly the most quickly, I will give it an apple on the blackboard.The group who gets the most apples will be the winner.I will give the winner a gift.In this way, the vocabulary will be enlarged and they are happy to learn more by playing.Task2: Pair work
I will have students finish the exercise on Page26 independently.Then have them practice the dialogue with their partners.After this, I will come to the third step-Colloquialism
Step 3.Vocabulary extension-Colloquialism
Task1: Presentation
Through four designed simple dialogues , I will explain the meaning of the word “colloquialism” and have students figure out the exact meanings of four colloquialisms.Task2:Guessing
Have students guess the meaning of the five given expressions on Page 27;try to find an equal Chinese expression for each.Task3:Promotion
Have students learn some more important colloquialisms, which often appear in the reading comprehension in the college entrance examination in the recent years..Task4: Group competition
Step 4.Homework
Get students to keep what they have learned in their mind.Part 7 Teaching reflection
All in all, it is a relatively successful class.The students are expected to not only expand their knowledge but also apply it practically in their listening, speaking, reading and writing procedures.I have added the important colloquialisms not only to arouse their interest but also to promote their solutions to the problems in the future college entrance exam.Having finished this class, I have learned that I should pay more attention to the teaching procedure speed neither too fast nor slow.
