The summary of Nameless Faces In this text,the author mainly tells us a true story that happened to her, through which the author changed the way she views humanity.On the author’s way to work,there was a subway ride followed by a ten-minute walk through the heart of downtown Toronto where the homeless people often congregated and begged pedestrians for some money.The author just learned to ignore the nameless faces before she met Mike who changed he attitude towards beggars, because she thought that beggars all had bad habits ,such as drug abuse and alcoholism.It was a very cold day in mid-December and the temperature was a chilly minus 20-degrees Celsius.The author was on her way to work when she sipped and hurt herself badly.As she tried to get on her feet a strange man helped her, who begged her for some change just before and to whom she lied that she had no money.When the person helped her walk to the nearby bus stop and gave his only money to her to take a bus,she was stroke by the action of this strange man and felt guilty for her lies.She took her money and counted out enough for her to take a bus and gave the rest to Mike at last.From then on, the author totally changed her outlook on people.

2010—2011学年第一学期 四年级英语教学工作总结
这学期担任小学四年级的英语教学工作。现将本学期的教学工作总结如下:
一、英语学习的情况分析
1、总体的学习基础和学习习惯养成都比三年级好,学生也比较习惯我的教学方法和教学制度,措施。但原有不及格的后进生成绩依然不好,两极分化严重,情况不容乐观。
2、教学上的一些的困难:跟三年级相比,四年级的教材在难度上有了很大的提高,尤其是practice and activity,教学任务十分繁重,老师一人又身兼数科教学,老师劳累,学生对老师也有一定的“疲惫感”,学习与接受都比较困难,再加上一星期的少课时,课文内容的多容量,上课节奏十分紧凑,学生复习的时间相对减少。
二、教学工作
1、我注重培养孩子的英语学习兴趣,从各个方面培养和锻炼孩子的听说能力,利用一切机会让孩子们练习听说能力,创造说英语的一切机会。有时候在学习某个句型或某些词的用法时,像做游戏一样利用实物寓玩于教。比如在学习“Where’s my glasses ? ”这个句型,方位词behind, next to, in front of, in ,on ,under时,可以把一支钢笔藏在某个地方,让学生闭上眼睛来猜。让学生猜“Is it in/on /under…”? 回答对了,就会得到奖励。这样既让学生喜欢学,又便于掌握。
2、教学中,备课是一个必不可少,十分重要的环节,备学生,又要备教法。备课不充分或者备得不好,会严重影响课堂气氛和积极性。备课时掌握每一节课的教学内容及重点,难点,同时还要能根据学生的实际情况,采用不同的教学方法。此外老师每天上课都要有充足的精神,这样比较容易带动学生的积极性。
3、及时培养学生良好的学习习惯,课前多预习,课堂上要求学生注意力集中,真正听懂老师所讲的内容。在书写作业中,开始让学生抄写句子,当出现大小写不分的情况时,及时给学生分析,重视对学生书写规范性的培养课后认真完成配套练习,不懂的地方,多向老师或成绩好的学生请教。
4、课堂适当运用激励竞争机制。小学四年级的学生具有争强好胜的特点,以小组为单位,进行抢答与练习,这种学习方法为他们的学习添上活力与热情,有效地提高学习效率。
三、不足之处
1、作业布置方面的缺失。没能抓好作业的检查,对于组长,课代表缺少表扬和监督机制,致使有部分学生常不按时完成作业,一些口头作业实效不大。
2、因为英语的特殊情况,学生在不断学习中,出现了两极分化现象,待进生较多,严重影响了班内的学习风气。只希望学生能更自觉学习,没有严格地督促这些学生进行课后复习和检查,因此,以后对待进生绝对不能忽视。应制定具体的计划和目标,对这部分同学进行有计划的辅导。

本学期是我担任四年级英语教学工作。在小学英语教学方面可以说是毫无经验。在本学期的教学中,我深深地感到教小学英语之难之累。正因为如此,我严格遵从教学的五个环节,课前认真备课,做到既备教材,又备学生,因材施教,努力实施课堂改革,积极探索小学英语快乐课堂,小学阶段英语教学的目的是:激发学生学习英语的兴趣,培养学生学习英语的积极性,使他们树立学习英语的自信心,同时培养学生一定的语感和良好的语音、语调基础,为进一步学习打下基础。在英语课堂教学中,怎样创设良好的学习氛围、激发学生的兴趣是搞好小学英语教学的重要一环。下面结合本学期教学实践总结一下教学情况:
一、认真备课、面向全体授课
在教学中,认真备课,认真阅读各种教科参考书,认真编写好教案、制定好教学计划,根据学生的实际学习情况和向其他教师取得的经验,不断地加以改善;在传授学生知识时,不厌其烦,耐心教导学生,还耐心地辅导学生复习遗漏知识;在传授学生知识的同时,并对他们进行思想教育,教育优生帮助后进生。
二、在课堂教学中
第一、在课堂上,认真授课,运用实物教具、简笔画,情景教学、手势语言等方法来启发、教育学生。教学生做游戏、唱英语歌等来激发学生的学习兴趣。鼓励学生大胆质疑,注重师生互动、生生互动的教学,充分调动学生的学习积极性。学生有疑难和不懂读的地方,我总是不厌其烦地讲解、分析、带读,力争让他们学了就懂,懂了会用。
第二、在批改作业方面。学生的作业总是按时及时地批改,并详细地做好批注,对普遍性错误,在全班重复讲解、分析。针对个别学生的作业还采取面批方法,一一地分析讲解、帮助学生解决疑难习题,提高了教学质量。
第三、在听力方面。为提高学生的听力水平,常让学生听英语歌曲及英语会话的录音磁带,还让学生表演对话等。
三、自身的学习
鉴于自己在小学英语教学方面没有经验,我抓紧一切机会向其他老师学习,用心收集有助于小学英语课堂教学的各种游戏、活动。同时多听录音磁带,让自己的语音和语调标准。以上是我这学期在小学英语教学方面获得的经验,但也存在较多的不足,如课堂操作欠灵活,多媒体操作不熟练,尤其是后进生工作,由于客观原因,做的不够,以致于成绩不理想。
四、存在的不足及今后努力的方向:
一学期的教学使我深深地认识到:课堂教学的创新需要不停地丰富专业、个人知识,提高业务能力,对国内外各种传统的和新潮的教学、教法,知已知彼,能够融会贯通,在具体的教学过程中,要针对每一课的不同特点,为自己的学生设计最佳方案,营造一个宽松、民主、和谐的氛围,让学生在学习中学会如何去获得知识的方法,以达到培养创新的意识,提高创新能力的目的,促使学生成为新世纪所需的人才。总之,由于本人缺少小学英语教学经验和对学生的实际学习情况不了解,学生本学期的成绩不理想,在今后的教学工作中,我会努力填补自己在教学工作中不足,也会不耻下问,向其他老师学习,争取迈上一个新台阶。
