当地时间6日晚，芝加哥飘起蒙蒙细雨，一向冷清的麦考密克会展中心却聚集了上万人。大家在等待奥巴马到来，发表获胜演说。这里，是民主党大选之夜的庆祝举办地。奥巴马的胜利之夜，简陋的场馆成了人的海洋。

老妇疲劳栽倒

6日整整一天，奥巴马都在“大本营”芝加哥度过，有人说他呆在自己家中，静静等待结果；有人说他在打篮球。一天前，奥巴马在艾奥瓦州结束了最后的竞选活动，激动得泣不成声。

“我的男孩，奥巴马，他一定能赢。”黑人选民赛缪·阿德狄亚姆对记者说，“罗姆尼领先，那都是谎言，他们不愿意看到一位黑人总统。”

未来的路还很长，而且我们正在艰难地攀登在陡峭的山坡之上。我们未必能够在一年或是在一个总统任期之内达到目标，但美国肯定可以。我们肯定可以达到目标，此前我从未有今天晚上的如此有信心。

我向你们承诺，我们肯定可以。

当然，这一过程肯定还会出现挫折，甚至是不成功的开始。我作为总统所做出的决策，肯定也会有许多人并不赞同。我们知道政府并不能解决所有的问题。

让我们记住，如果此次金融危机告诉我们什么，我们再也不会让华尔街繁荣的同时，让别的街受罪。
