CET

大学英语四、六级考试。大学英语考试是教育部主管的一项全国性的教学考试，其目的是对大学生的实际英语能力进行客观测量。大学英语考试是一项大规模标准化考试，在设计上满足教育测量理论对大规模标准化考试的质量要求。大学英语四、六级考试作为一项全国性的教学考试由教育部高教司主办，分为四级考试(CET-4)和六级考试(CET-6)，每年各举行两次。从2005年1月起，报道成绩满分为710分，凡考试成绩在220分以上的考生，由教育部高教司委托全国大学英语四六级考试委员会发给成绩单。

PETS

全国英语等级考试(Public English Test System，简称PETS)是教育部考试中心设计并负责的全国性英语水平考试体系。作为中、英两国政府的教育交流合作项目，在设计过程中它得到了英国专家的技术支持。共有五个级别：

TOEFL

托福(TOEFL)考试。是由美国教育考试服务处举办的为申请去美国或加拿大等国家上大学或入研究生院学习的非英语国家学生提供的英语水平考试。美国和加拿大已有超过2400所大学和学院承认这项考试成绩，规定了申请者的最低TOEFL录取分数线。2006年5月新托福网考在中国面世。新托福是基于网络的英语全面能力测试，整个考试过程都在计算机上完成。

IELTS

雅思(IELTS)考试。与托福考试一样，IELTS也是一种国际英语水平测试，由剑桥大学测试中心、英国文化委员会和澳大利亚国际开发署共同管理。雅思考试分为两种模式：学术类考试用于测试应试者的英语水平能否在英语环境中就读大学本科和研究生课程；普通培训类考试则侧重评估应试者是否已具备在英语国家生存所需的基本英语技能。目前，在欧洲和北美，越来越多的院校开始接受雅思考试成绩，英国、澳大利亚、新西兰等国的移民局也将雅思考

GRE

GMAT

GMAT考试。GMAT是国外工商管理硕士MBA入学考试，由美国商学院研究所入学考试委员会(GMAC)委托新泽西州普林斯顿的教育测试中心(ETS)举办，在我国的主办单位是中国国外考试协调处(CIECB)。美国、英国、澳大利亚等国家的高校都采用GMAT考试的成绩来评估申请入学者是否适合在商业、经济和管理等专业的研究生阶段学习，以决定是否录取。考试包括语文、数学和分析性写作三部分试题。数学部分包括数据充分性和问题解答，75分钟37题；语文部分包括句子改错、阅读理解和评论性推理，75分钟41题；而分析性写作则是测试逻辑思维能力和表达复杂思想的能力，30分钟两道作文题目。

TOEIC

TOEIC-Test of English for International Communication（国际交流英语测评）。是针对在国际工作环境中使用英语交流的人们的英语能力的测评。每年在60多个国家有超过3百多万人次参加TOEIC考试，5000多家国际化的公司或机构承认并使用TOEIC考试成绩。因为TOEIC考试能对人们使用英语进行交流的能力做出公正客观的测量，所以它成为当今世界上顶级的职业英语能力测评。

美国教育考试服务处（ETS）在1979开发了TOEIC考试，多年过后，TOEIC考试已经被60多个国家采用并迅速成为评估商业英语能力的标准。TOEIC考试已经成为全球很多需要评估待聘用的和现有员工英语能力的机构认可的标准。考试被众多的公司采用，从小企业，到跨国公司、政府机构，在许多行业和区域运行。TOEIC考试作为一个重要的管理工具，帮助企业做出重大的人事决定。

BEC

TEM

TEM = Test for English Majors 英语专业等级考试

分为英语专业四级(TEM4)和八级(TEM8)考试目的是为检测全国高校本科英语专业教学大纲执行情况而进行的本科教学考试。

报名资格

参加本科专业英语四级统测报名对象为：

（1）经教育部备案或批准的高等院校中英语专业二年级本科生。

（2）经教育部备案或批准的高等院校中修完英语专业基础阶段教学大纲规定课程的二、三年制最后一学年的大专生。

（3）教育部备案或批准有学历的成人高等教育学院中四年制即脱产学习的英语专业（第二学年）本科生；五年制即不脱产学习的、修完英语专业基础阶段教学大纲规定课程（第三学年）的本科生。不脱产的三年制大专生，必须在第三学年时方可报名参加专业英语四级测试。

（4）重点外语类院校中，非英语专业的本科生中当年参加英语六级考试且成绩在60分以上，可参加当年专业英语四级考试。

（5）参加四级测试的考生只有一次补考机会。

参加本科专业英语八级统测报名对象为：

（1）经教育部备案或批准的高等院校中英语专业四年级本科生。

（2）经教育部批准有学历的成人高等教育学院中完成四年制即脱产学习的英语专业（第四学年）本科生；五年制即不脱产学习英语专业（第五学年）的本科生。

（3）非英语专业六级考试通过的学生可报名参加专业英语八级考试。

（4）参加八级测试的考生只有一次补考机会。

凡未通过基础阶段（TEM4）统测的考生，也可参加高年级阶段（TEM8）的统测。

英语专业的专生本学生因超出英语专业基础阶段（TEM4）统测规定的考试年限（祥见报名对象），一律不得参加英语专业基础阶段（TEM4）统测，但可在英语专业专生本学习的最后一学期参加高年级阶段（TEM8）统测；因各种原因未在规定的考试年限参加TEM4（第四学期）或TEM8（第八学期）统测的专业英语考生，不得以补考名义参加次年的TEM4或TEM8统测。

LSAT

LSAT即法学院入学考试的简称，它采用标准化测试，全面衡量阅读、词汇、逻辑、分析、推理等法学院学生必备的能力，为法学院正确评价申请人学习能力提供了一个标准。GRE是美国大学各类研究生院（除管理类学院，法学院）要求申请者所必备的一个考试成绩，也是教授对申请者是否授予奖学金所依据的最重要的标准。GRE常规考试主要是考察应试人的基本英语能力以及对英文方面知识所涉及的广度和深度，涉及词汇（天文、地理、人文、科学、艺术、政治及历史）、数学、分析（分析解释、逻辑推理）三部分。

GMAT考试是由美国经企管理专业研究入学考试委员会(GMAC)发起的。GMAC委员会由75所经济、商业、财政和管理研究生院派人参加，代表着美国几乎所有财经、商业和管理院校，因此GMAT是帮助各研究生院评价考生在管理科学方面入学资格的最权威考试。由于GMAT试题设计较为科学合理，可以较真实地反映应试人的英文水平，因而越来越多地被公关专业和研究生院所采纳，成为录取经济、商业、财政、金融、管理和其他一些专业研究生的一项最基本标准，并作为评定奖学金的重要条件。目前，在全世界约有750多所研究生院要求申请者提供GMAT成绩。凡是要申请赴美留学，攻读下列专业的工商管理学硕士，管理工程学和工商管理法学硕士、博士学位的我国学生都要求参加GMAT考试： 普通管理项目、会计学、保险统计学、艺术管理、行为科学、图书管理学、经济学、财政金融学、信息管理系统、商业教育学、商业管理学、广告设计学、国际贸易和旅游经营学等。

SAT

SAT是英文Scholastic Assessment Test的缩写，中文名称为学术能力评估考试,是由总部位于美国新泽西州普林斯顿市的美国教育考试服务中心（Educational Testing Service，简称ETS)举办的。SAT成绩是世界各国高中生申请美国名校学习及奖学金的重要参考。目前，如果高中生要申请美国的顶尖大学，除了要提供TOEFL这样的语言能力考试成绩以外，90% 的学校要求参考学生的SAT 成绩，因为它是美国大学所能够得到的唯一可以比较来自不同地区和学校学生能力的成绩。中国高中生若仅有TOEFL成绩，几乎不可能被美国前100名的大学所录取。此外，SAT 成绩也是决定中国高中生能否申请到奖学金的决定性因素。所以我们可以近似地把SAT理解为美国的高考。(美国的高校录取方式也与国内不同，单纯的理解为美国的高考是不全面的。在美国大学评测一位学生是否应当被录取时，SAT分数一般所占比例不超过50%，而且一般的排名不是特别靠前的学校明确提出不要求中国大陆这样没有SAT考点的地区提供SAT成绩。所以申请排名靠后的学校没有SAT也不是不可能的事情。但是有SAT成绩一定是比没有要占优势的多。相同情况下，优先录取有SAT成绩的学生。)

SAT在美国每年有超过200万高中生参加，是几乎全部美国大学，特别是常青藤联校承认并要求申请者提供成绩的考试，它是决定录取和评定奖学金发放的重要参考指标。因此，2005年有近2000名中国高中生参加的考试且这一数字还在逐年爆涨。

SAT考试分为两部分：SATⅠ推理测验(Reasoning Test)和SATⅡ(Subject Tests)专项测验。SAT1主要测验考生的写作、阅读和数学能力；SAT2涉及数学、物理、化学及生物等科目。中国学生最常选的是数学，物理，化学，生物中的3门。一般中国高中生申请进入美国本科学校只需参加SATⅠ考试。和托福(TOEFL)考试相比，虽然SAT 并非语言测试，但它是面对全世界包括美国本土高中生在内的统一考试，因此单从单词的难度就比托福要求高的多。尤其对2005年3月改革后的SAT 来说，新增的写作部分，是对学生纯英语语言能力的检测，此单项要求就是托福和雅思考试均无法企及的。因此，对中国学生来说，把SAT仅仅理解为以语言为载体的推理和专项测验就大错特错了，相反它对学生语言水平的要求比TOEFL更高了一个档次。

拥有SAT成绩会大大增加录取机会。SAT成绩使得中国高中生进入和美国本土学生一样的录取平台。SAT成绩是用美国大学承认的语言告诉他们你很优秀。好的SAT成绩说明你的智力和学习成绩在包括美国和全球学生在内的申请者中处于优势。哈佛、耶鲁、普林斯顿等名校每年录取的新生中，几乎都是SAT高分的学生。

由于目前中国学生参加SAT考试的不多，因此，SAT成绩也能使你从中国申请者中脱颖

而出。从形势上看，SAT将是奔美中国高中生不得不参加的考试，因此，越早参加考试越好。

SAT也因此有助于申请奖学金。美国学校每年的学费加上生活费用高达几万美金，因此奖学金对中国学生非常重要。证明你优秀的SAT成绩是申请奖学金的重要条件。此外，它也是入学后，在大学学习期间申请荣誉奖学金的必要条件。

SAT对在美国就业非常重要。许多美国大公司在招聘员工时，都要求应征者提供SAT分数。这个高中时代的成绩为什么会这么重要？因为它代表的是你的智力素质，代表你是否足够聪明，是否具备足够的潜力。2003年10月28日的《华尔街日报》有一篇题为《越来越多的雇主要求求职者提供SAT成绩》的文章，可以是这个趋势的最好注解。

职称英语

全国专业技术人员职称英语等级考试，是由国家人事部组织实施的一项国家级外语考试。考试遵循“严格要求、实事求是、区别对待、逐步提高”的原则，根据英语在不同专业领域活动中的应用特点，结合专业技术人员掌握和使用英语的实际情况，对申报不同级别专业技术职务的人员的英语水平提出了不同的要求。凡依据相应专业技术职务条例受聘担任相应专业技术职务的人员，均应按照《关于专业技术人员职称外语等级统一考试的通知》规定的范围，报名参加相应语种、级别的外语水平测试，考试采取统一大纲、闭卷笔试的形式进行。考试设英语、日语、俄语、德语、法语和西班牙语6个语种，每个语种分为A、B、C三个等级。其中，英语划分为综合、理工、卫生3个专业类别。其他语种不分专业类别。考试主要测试专业技术人员阅读理解外文专业基础文献的能力。报考人员可根据自己所从事的专业工作，任选一个语种及有关类别参加考试。
