怎样准备英语口语比赛

正如各类英语口试一样，口语比赛也是可以通过精心准备而获得理想成绩的。准备的内容越多，技巧锻炼得越纯熟，胜算也就越大。

根据以往的规则，口语比赛的形式一般分为这几项：定题演讲、即兴演讲、问答或抢答、听力测试、看图说话及才艺表演等。下面就谈谈怎样分别针对这些形式做好充分准备。

首先，准备定题演讲的重点在于稿子。

一般来说，在指导老师的帮助下，每一位选手的定题演讲都要写到三稿以上，我至今仍保存着七稿。

演讲稿的水平高低取决于参赛者的英语素质高低。但是，绝对不是英语水平高的人就能写出震撼人心的好稿子。在写稿，选材等方面，有不少选手都存在些小误区。首先，我觉得选手不应该选大题。演讲比赛的题目可能只给你一个范围，例如“教育类或科技类”很多人会倾向选择那种很“气势宏大”的题目，什么“科技与人类”。其实演讲比赛的时间很有限，选择一个大题目的话，很难在有限的时间内阐述清楚。虽然演讲需要激情，但是更需要真情实感。选了个大题目，会容易“喊空口号”，给人感觉很空洞，不真实。在选材方面也是如此。最好要选择自己经历过的，能激起大多数人共鸣的事，不要选些什么看起来很辉煌的事。“伟大寓于平凡之中”就是充分发挥小事的魅力。以这次“希望之星”英语风采大赛大学组为例，其中有个新疆的选手给我留下了很深的印象。其一是他的口语的确是太棒了，其二是他的稿子很感人。他没有选择什么歌颂祖国和人类等大题目，而是自己的经历和感受，他选的题材甚至有点不光彩，他选了自己曾经辍学的经历，说他在社会上的艰辛和感受，最后他还是从自己吃的亏和教训中明白了读书的重要。这样的题材很有说服力，给人的感觉很真实，会牵引着听众真的走进你的故事。就算是即兴演讲，你在那很短的准备时间里，也应该遵循类似的选题和选材原则。当然，你的演讲稿的语言构成是否出色就是靠真本领了。我个人觉得可以适当的加入些句式短的排比句，这样容易在讲时迸发激情，也可以用些疑问句，引起听众的共鸣和思索。还可以用一些英语典故或俚语，谚语等，只要用得恰当，就会为你的稿子锦上添花。

稿子不仅要做到语言上的无懈可击，更要新颖有趣、多用短句以抓住听众。中小学生的口语大赛定题演讲以自我简介居多，在简要介绍完自己的基本情况后，要抓住自己与他人不一样的地方例如爱好、理想等做文章，让评委和观众有耳目一新的感觉。

接下来就是即兴演讲或针对性演讲。即兴演讲和针对演讲内容的问答一般都被选手看成是最难以准备因而也是最容易产生紧张情绪的环节。其实，这两个环节同样也是可以准备的。我们经常在电视、VCD上看到一些高水平的比赛选手在即兴环节中口若悬河滔滔不绝，对他们深厚的英语基本功和灵敏的临场反应钦佩不已。据一项非官方调查显示，绝大多数的选手在比赛前都会背下大量的或经典美文，或原创“段子”，以应不时之需。

这种准备方法虽然要耗费不少时间精力，但其实操作过程很简单，而且一旦完成，对参赛的帮助不可估量。方法的步骤就是：

1、搜集往届比赛资料以及社会和时事新闻，观看往届比赛的碟片，研究比赛内容、选手的表现，在练习时注意借鉴、取舍，总结并归类最易出现的讨论话题。譬如我当初就在浏览完前七届的比赛资料后将即兴演讲题分为“中西方文化差异”、“现代化进程”、“教育体制改革和贫困地区教育”等十个大类。

2、就每个主题写一段一分钟左右（视整体时间而定，一般占总时间的一半到三分之二）的“段子”，表达方式要完全用记叙。最好是自己学习和生活当中的趣事，要有一定教育意义，如果自己实在没有就找与自己密切相关的亲友生活中的。比如我当时为文化差异的主题写的就是我在纽约定居了五年的表姐回中国来办婚礼全家人争论到底是采用中式还是西式的小文章。虽然没有用上，但这样短小而生动的故事是极受评委欢迎的。

3、在改稿时注意添加富有幽默感的内容。由于这类比赛的一大趋势便是越来越多地邀请外国评委，这个群体对幽默感是非常看重的。但这也为幽默的方式带来了一定难度，究竟怎样才是中外评委可以共同接受的幽默，这就需要老师进行专门的指导了。

4、背下段子。场下背这些段子的熟练程度要做到与背定题演讲一样，但在场上一定要注意适当放慢语速，有抑扬顿挫，要让听众感觉你确实是在“说”而不是在“背”。

准备完即兴演讲后，根据已准备的即兴演讲内容请老师、同学或者是家长提一些问题并记下，然后仔细思考并写下富有新意的回答，这就是问答项的准备方法了。

前面讲的这三项内容（定题演讲、即兴演讲、针对演讲内容的问答），在准备工作上有一点共通之处，这就是切忌内容空泛、喊大口号、谈大理论。这其实也是我们中文演讲和英文演讲很大的一个不同所在。中文是我们的母语，因此我们会借着无数的华丽辞藻和句式堆砌出一篇气势磅礴的文章；而英文的绝不能这样，原因有二：

一、评委在一天要听数十位选手的演讲，他们不会有兴趣听任何空话大话，如果你的词汇过深奥句子过长，甚至会造成他们理解上的障碍；

二、无论什么话题，立意都很容易撞车，所以若花大部分笔墨在main idea上，太容易与别人的内容重复，而事例都是每个人自己的，不会有雷同，因此一定要记住重点是将你的supporting details娓娓道来，这也是听众们感兴趣的东西。

在面对即兴问答这一部分，最重要的是要集中注意力把评委的问题听清楚。做答时不用匆忙，一定要审清题，要答到点子上。在这个比赛环节，我觉得选手可以适当的加入些幽默。比如，有可能你太紧张了，评委第一次在问题目时你没听清楚，这时你不要很慌，也不要就“Pardon”一句就敷衍了，你可以开些小玩笑，比如：久闻您的大名，今日终于见到了太激动了，只记得看您的人了，都忘了还在比赛，还有题目。

内容新颖。在即兴演讲和临场表演的环节中，一定要注意新颖及抖包袱。说发生在自己身上事情比较有感觉，注意不要落于俗套，只有做到“人无我有，人有我优，人优我新”才能吸引住评委的眼球，得到好的分数。什么叫抖包袱？比如评委问你在你生命中谁给你影响最大？不要一上来就说有一人给了我很大的影响，他就是我爸爸。接着一二三四五的举事例。而是先说几件有意思的小事，让大家产生疑问他究竟是谁啊？在演讲的最后再揭开谜底：And do you know who he is? He is my father.这样会比较好。

以上的三项是此类比赛中出现频率最高也是占分比例最高的形式，而一些其他辅助性的形式特别要求选手在平时就注重基本功的练习。

比如中小学生比赛中常出现的看图说话，其实并没有很强的技巧性，只要选手可以流畅的将画面意思表达出来并且可以自圆其说就可以了。这对语言的功底要求较高，需要选手们平时做大量的练习，并且由老师指导。

另一种是听力测评，难度由听单词到短文不等。听力的训练也是要在平时完成的，而赛前的准备有一种临阵磨枪的方法，就是在比赛前两三天尽量浸入全英文环境，看无中文字幕的电影、听录音、广播，听不懂没关系，主要锻炼听到英语不紧张的自然心态。

才艺表演也是近年来兴起的一个项目。一般选手比较钟爱的形式包括歌唱、诗朗诵、戏剧表演以及模仿电影原声等等，这些都是十分可取的形式，重要的是根据个人的兴趣及特长作好充分准备。值得一提的是，以上这些都是与英语紧密关联的，有些选手会选择器乐演奏等与英语毫不相干的形式，这就要注意，如果你不是对自己的水平那么有信心，相信自己可以凭此征服全场观众和评委，那就一定要慎用。

此外，知识抢答、即兴情景对话等更是重在平时的积累。在赛前，我们可以加强突击一下。赛前的突击最重要的是加大阅读。要接触一些时政要闻和英美风情介绍的东西，扩充自己的知识面。可以多听些英语的新闻或介绍西方概况的节目，培养语感和听力反应速度。还可以多读读英语的绕口令，让自己说英语时更加的灵巧。当然最好的就是接受专业的培训。因为培训可以模拟正式的比赛，让你在最真实的环境中不断进步。而且集中的培训，老师会从最基本的语音语调着手，来不断的纠正你的错误，完善你的表现。

语音语调是口语大赛最基本的评判标准，也是中国选手进步最快的部分。一般进入到全国性决赛的选手个个都有出众的语音，有的甚至是在国外生活过一段时间，脱口就是地道的伦敦音、纽约音等等。而对广大中小学生来说，参加口语大赛，语音语调的问题一定要率先解决。首先，要做到准备好的也就是背好的内容中的语音零错误，对自己把握不准读音的单词一定要咨询老师或者查字典；其他内容在说的时候尽量放松，力求说出最自然的状态。中国学生在紧张的时候说英语十分容易拖音，这是万万要不得的。宁愿停顿的时间长一些，或是加上一些“Well”,“You know”之类的发语词（组），也不能在评委面前显出发音的不专业。

最后，还要说几点演讲和比赛的技巧

第一，声音的修饰。根据讲述内容、个人风格调节轻重缓急。每个人的风格是不一样的，综观世界政坛，戴安娜王妃的亲和力、希拉里的高贵典雅、小布什的张扬、温家宝总理的不温不火，决定了他们使用声线的不同方法。

第三，克服紧张情绪。大赛当前，没有人会说自己毫无半点紧张情绪。我曾在省里的比赛中亲见选手晕倒在讲台上，在中央电视台第八演播室比赛时，有一位来自浙江的选手在已备演讲中结结巴巴，最后突然停下，问主持人要水喝。紧张有时是由于准备的不充分引起的，但更多的时候是一种天性。我自己比了这么多回赛，每次在上场前仍然会心跳加速、舌头僵硬，但以下几个动作可以缓解这种状况：上场前喝口水、说话前微笑、鞠躬、深呼吸。如果真紧张得忘词了，千万不要慌张，也不要停顿过长，越长越紧张，越紧张越想不起来，这时想到哪里就从哪里开始说，再慢慢补救。

第四，眼神交流。将你炯炯的目光辐射到全场观众的次数不用多，一场比赛两三次即可。要始终记住你的重点对象是评委，大部分的时候是看着他们。有些评委的表情或是点头摇头等动作极易引起选手的紧张情绪，这时候我们有一句俗话：“You look at them, but you don’t see them.”意思就是你眼睛看着他们，但千万别往心里去，你的心里应该是被演讲内容填满的。
