如何写好英语职称论文

英语论文写作与指导一是在于培养英语学习者写作的综合能力、正确的治学态度和科学的研究方法;二是强调创新意识、鼓励英语学习者表达独立见解。但部分 英语学习者认为论文写作就是“天下文章一大抄”,缺乏独立思考的能力和过程;同时由于英语语言知识有限,英语表达不通顺,语病很多,导致论文整体写作水平不高。存在的问题主要表现在语言层次、思维方式以及格式规范等。本文试图分析论文写作中出现的这三方面的问题,并探讨了纠正和防止错误的方法与对策,旨在 提高论文的写作水平,促进指导老师和英语学习者进一步思考和改进论文写作。

一、非语言层次方面的问题

(一)语篇结构松散语篇一般是指一段有意义、传达一个完整信息、逻辑连贯、语言衔接、具有一定交际目的和功能的语言单位或交际事件。在同一主题下,英语和汉语的语篇有许多相似之处,但也存在着巨大的差异。

(二)汉语思维方式表达在英语论文写作的过程中,应按照英语的思维方式来表达。但在实际中,很多英语学习者采用了汉语表达习惯,使英语学习者很难读懂文章的意思或是不符合英文的表达习惯。

例如在一篇论文中有这样一段话:例1: In general it is confident in some degreeto draw such a conclusion.But it must possess twoconditions.It is assumed that the students havethe same attitude to the test as the others.Theywere not punished for lack of relevant knowledgethey possessed.原文显然按照汉语的思维和表达方式逐个词拼凑而成,不仅存在一些语法错误,也不

符合英语的表达习惯。第一句中的副词位置混乱,不符合 英语的语法规则。最后两句“能够假定英语学习者对测试的态度与其他英语学习者相同;他也没有因为未掌握相关知识而扣分”为平行结构。按照修辞学的观点,当 一个句子中出现两个或两个以上的句子成分起相同作用时,应当使他们平行了，因此在写作中,应遵守英语的语言规则,必要时可将几个短句合并。

(三)体裁意识的缺乏“体裁是交际行为的形式,有其交际功能;交际目的是确定体裁的重要因素;交际目的和话题制约着语篇形式、内容及语言难 度。”论文写作不仅仅是考察英语学习者个人的语言是否规范、论证是否严密符合逻辑,同时也应培养英语学习者注重论文写作的社会规范性,即符合一定的语言使 用策略和语篇组织模式。论文写作,作为一种学术交流和科研的文体,在交际目的和篇章结构方面具有特定的体裁特征。

二、语言层次方面的问题

(一)用词不够准确具体论文写作要求表达准确、严谨,因此用词一定要准确得体。用词准确即根据使用场合选用确切的词。为了能够准确表达意思,不仅要了解词的字面意义,而且要了解其内涵意义。思想表达的准确与否在很大程度上取决于用词的准确性。

(二)句子结构单调通过比较英语和汉语句子后可以发现,汉语句子一般较短,结构比较松散,注重意合,语义通过字词直接表达,不同的意思往往通 过不同的短句表达出来;而英语句子一般比较长,结构比较紧密,注重形合。因此在用英语表达时,应遵守英语的语言规则和表达习惯。在写作时,应避免汉语句子 的表达形式,必要时可把几个短句合并成一个长句。在学术写作中,复杂的思想往往需要通过相应的语言信息结构组织起来,予以表达。在英语论文中,句型的扩 展、连接手段的多样又使句子结构多层化。因此,论文中的句子并列成分比较多,例如各种并列单词、短语或从句,使句子长而复杂,句套句的情况较多。然而,我 们在英语学习者的论文中常常见到过多地使用简单句。如例1中的三个句子短句叠现,在某种程度上反映出作者思维的不成熟以及逻辑的混乱。因此,英语学习者在 写作过程中应善作缜密的逻辑思维,理清思路,分清主次。在实际的写作中,除了上述问题外,英语学习者论文中句子存在着结构重叠、短缺,语句表达不清楚等等 情况。这些都影响了论文的可读性,更奢谈行文的准确性和严谨性。

三、格式规范的问题

(一)标题过大过泛选择一个难易、大小合适的题目,可以保证论文写作的顺利进行。与其他专业的论文不同,英语专业的论文是用英语来写作的,它 对语言表达的正确性有一定的要求。同时,外语专业的英语学习者由于受到专业语言的特殊限制,用英语思维来写英文论文是有一定难度的,所以应将论题范围缩 小,集中论证某一方面的问题。

(二)摘要内容不完整论文摘要是整篇论文的精华部分。摘要的语言,应该言简意赅,能够客观准确地反映论文的主要信息。语言应平铺直叙,不要使 用太多的修饰语。论文的各个实质部分内容应用一两句话来概括说明。在写作时应使摘要内容尽可能完整,应基本包括:研究背景和目的、研究内容和方法以及研究 结果和结论等。

(三)参考文献标注不规范要写好论文,对于文献资料的检索、评价、鉴

别和吸收的综合能力是决定论文成功与否的一个关键的方面。缺少了相关文献 的支持,写成的论文就会缺乏学术性和说服力。同时参考文献的标注也能直接反映出英语学习者对论文写作的态度是否端正和严谨。作为论文中不可缺少的组成部 分,参考文献的标注不可随意删减,更不可马虎了事,否则将会使一篇质量和水平较高的论文逊色。一篇好的论文应该是内容与形式的完美的结合与一致。

四、结语

论文的写作,除了需要英语学习者具备扎实的专业知识和良好的写作能力,同时还需要指导教师从语言层次、思维方式以及格式规范等几个方面对英语学习者进行指导和把关。同时在平时的教学中针对以上存在的问题在以下方面做到:

第一、指导英语学习者撰写英语论文时,应该从英语学习者的实际情况出发,帮助英语学习者意识到自身的写作障碍,帮助英语学习者有意识地、逐步地去尝试并反思英语的语篇结构和体裁要求,从而逐步克服在写作中易犯的汉式英语的错误和不良的写作习惯。

第二、结合各专业课程,指导英语学习者撰写学年论文。论文质量的好坏在相当程度上能够反映专业学科建设的水平,以及英语学习者多方面的素质差 异。提高论文写作水平的一个有效途径是在高年级的专业基础课上教师指导英语学习者做一些小型的研究课题,要求英语学习者收集资料、写出读书报告,毕业时撰 写论文就可轻车熟路了。

第三、教师对论文写作的指导过程,应包括对论文写作程序的指导、内

容和格式的审定和指导,帮助英语学习者理清思路,降低英语学习者的焦虑,切 实有效地解决英语学习者遇到的问题。培养和提高英语专业英语学习者论文写作能力,是英语教学的一项重要任务,论文写作教学和指导应针对英语学习者写作中的 典型问题展开,帮助他们通过论文的写作充实知识、提高学术研究能力,真正通过论文写作达到“以写促学”的目的。

The Chinese New Year is now popularly known as the Spring Festival because it starts from the Begining of Spring(the first of the twenty-four terms in coodination with the

changes of Nature).Its origin is too old to be traced.Several explanations are hanging around.All agree, however, that

the word Nian, which in modern Chinese solely means “year”, was originally the name of a monster beast that started to prey on people the night before the beginning of a new year.One legend goes that the beast Nian had a very big mouth that would swallow a great many people with one bite.People were very scared.One day, an old man came to their rescue, offering to subdue Nian.To Nian he said, “I hear say that you are very capable, but can you swallow the other beasts of prey on earth instead of people who are by no means of your worthy opponents?” So, it did swallow many of the beasts of prey on earth that also harrassed people and their domestic animals from time to time.After that, the old man disappeared riding the beast Nian.He turned out to be an immortal god.Now that Nian is gone and other beasts of prey are also scared into forests, people begin to enjoy their peaceful life.Before the old man left, he had told people to put up red paper decorations on their windows and doors at each year's end to scare away Nian in case it sneaked back again, because red is the color the beast feared the most.From then on, the tradition of observing the conquest of
