客里空是指那些通过想象来写新闻，润色新闻的记者。

黄色新闻源自是西方报纸上有一个漫画栏，上有穿黄色衣服的小男孩调侃政事。“绿眼罩” 与“凯平方”的对立。在美国全国新闻传播院校里，具有新闻实践经验的新闻教师与普遍具有博士学位的传播学教授们之间便不可避免地发生了摩擦与矛盾。这种摩擦与矛盾被谐称为“绿眼罩”(Green-Eyeshades)与“凯平方”(Chi-Squares)的对立。

这是摩擦双方为贬低对方而分别给对方起的外号。“凯”(Chi)是希腊第22个字母(χ)发音的英语拼写方式，“凯平方”（又称“卡方”）是在传统定量调查中进行交互分析的最常用的检验方法，它适用于拟合优度检验和变量间的独立性检验。为此，一些具有新闻实践经验背景的新闻教育者把他们的传播学同事戏称为“凯平方”，认为他们的教学与研究过分依赖于统计数据和数据分析。
