I remember the first time I saw Robert De Niro up on screen.I was 13 years old and despite what I learned career day.I discovered that acting was in fact a profession. My father and I went to see Midnight Run and I remember my dad at the beginning of the film pointed the screen and saying “See that guy there? And that guy is cool! His name is Robert De Niro. You wanna watch a great actor? You remember his face.” Three years later I was in the position while I needed him to remember my face.I was one of the last of many contenders for the lead and what would become my first fiche film This Boy's Life. And before this critical condition I watched as many as films that I could. And I asked myself over and over and over again what is the one quality that he would see in me that he would respect and that came to me.Menace.I knew that I needed to work in that audition and be a menacing force to be reckoned with. We'll make an appointment to see De Niro's character actually ran me a muster jar into my eye and asking me repeatedly “Is it empty? Is it empty?” I knew this is my moment.
I got from the couch, walked across the room, looked their deadly eye, pointing in his face and shouted at the top of my lungs “No!” Silence!I knew I chickened this room up.This De Niro guy was dumb. Then he dumb on me, then he wasn't stone face because of my inspiring performance. He was trying to contain his laughter, and the more he tried, the harder it became. And eventually, everyone in the room, but of course me, was in complete hysterics. Then he turned to me said, “That was good. That was good.Hm, when you are on the last line, when you just try, just, just take it down a notch, one notch.” So I did, I took it down a notch. And I learned a valuable lesson that some things are good only to a certain degree. So I am here tonight to pay my respect to you, Bob, and I wanna to thank you for taking a chance on me for giving me the opportunity to work along beside you and observe the underlined mechanisms that make you the cosmic actor of our time.
Thank you, Mr.Secretary-General, your excellencies, ladies and gentleman, and distinguished guests.I’m honored to be here today, I stand before you not as an expert but as a concerned citizen, one of the 400,000 people who marched in the streets of New York on Sunday, and the billions of others around the world who want to solve our climate crisis. As an actor I pretend for a living.I play fictitious characters often solving fictitious problems.I believe that mankind has looked at Climate Change in that same way, as if it were a fiction, as if pretending that Climate Change wasn’t real would somehow make it go away. But I think we know better than that now.Every week, we’re seeing new and undeniable Climate Events, evidence that accelerated Climate Change is here right now.Droughts are intensifying, our oceans acidifying, with methane plumes rising up from the ocean floor. We are seeing extreme weather events, and the West Antarctic and Greenland melting at unprecedented rates, decades ahead of scientific projections.None of this is rhetoric, and none of it is hysteria. It is fact. The scientific community knows it, Industry knows it、Government know it, even the United States military knows it.The Chief of the U.S.Navy’s Pacific Command, Admiral Samuel Locklear, recently said that Climate Change is our single greatest security threat. My Friends, this bodynow faces that difficult but achievable task. You can make history or you will be vilified by it.To be clear, this is not about just telling people to change their light bulbs or to buy a hybrid car. This disaster has grown BEYOND the choices that individuals make. This is now about our industries, and governments around the world taking decisive, large-scale action. Now must be our moment for action. We need to put a price tag on carbon emissions, and eliminate government subsidies for oil coal and gas companies. We need to end the free ride that industrial polluters have been given in the name of a free-market economy, they don't deserve our tax dollar. They deserve our scrutiny. For the economy itself will die if our eco-systems collapse. The good news is that renewable energy is not only achievable but good economic policy. This is not a partisan debate;it is a human one.Clean air and livable climate are inalienable human rights. And solving this crisis is not a question of politics. It is a question of our own survival This is the most urgent of times, and the most urgent of messages.Honored delegates, leaders of the world.I pretend for a living. But you do not.The people made their voices heard on Sunday around the world and the momentum will not stop. But now it was YOUR turn, the time to answer humankind’s greatest challenge is now.We beg you to face it with courage. And honesty.Thank you.

Thank you, Mr.Secretary General, for the honor to address this body once more. And thanks to the distinguished climate leaders assembled here today who are ready to take action.
President Abraham Lincoln was also thinking of bold action 150 years ago when he said: “The dogmas of the quiet past are inadequate to the stormy present…As our case is new, so we must think anew and act anew.We must disenthrall ourselves, and then we shall save our country.”
He was speaking before the U.S.Congress to confront the defining issue of his time – slavery.Everyone knew it had to end, but no one had the political will to stop it.Remarkably, his words ring as true today when applied to the defining crisis of our time – climate change.
As a UN Messenger of Peace, I have traveled all over the world for the last two years, documenting how this crisis is changing the natural balance of our planet.I’ve seen cities like Beijing choked by industrial pollution, ancient Boreal forests in Canada that have been clear-cut, and rainforests in Indonesia that have been incinerated.
incinerate [in'sinəreit]:焚烧
In India, I met farmers whose crops have literally been washed away by historic flooding. In America, I have witnessed unprecedented droughts in California and sea level rise flooding the streets of Miami. In Greenland and in the Arctic, I was astonished to see that ancient glaciers are rapidly disappearing well ahead of scientific predictions. All that I have seen and learned on my journey has absolutely terrified me.
There is no doubt in the world’s scientific community that this is a direct result of human activity and the effects of climate change will become astronomically worse in the future.
I do not need to tell you these statistics. You know them better than I do, but more importantly, you know what will happen if this scourge is left unchecked. You know that climate change is happening faster than even the most pessimistic of scientists warned us decades ago. It’s become a runaway freight train bringing with it an impending disaster for all living things.
Now, think about the shame that each of us will carry when our children and grandchildren look back and realize that we had the means of stopping this devastation, but simply lacked the political will to do so.
Yes, we have achieved the Paris Agreement.More countries have come together here to sign this Agreement today than for any other cause in the history of humankind – and that is a reason for hope – but unfortunately, the evidence shows us that it will not be enough. Our planet cannot be saved unless we leave fossil fuels in the ground where they belong.
An upheaval and massive change is required right now – one that leads to a new collective consciousness, a new collective evolution of the human race, inspired and enabled by a sense of urgency from all of you.
We all know that reversing the course of climate change will not be easy, but the tools are in our hands, if we apply them before it is too late.
Renewable energy, fossil fuels and putting a price on carbon pollution are beginning to turn the tide. This transition is not only the right thing for our world, but it also makes clear economic sense, and is possible within our lifetime.
But it is now upon you to do what great leaders have always done: to lead, to inspire and empower as President Lincoln did in his time.
We can congratulate each other today, but it will mean absolutely nothing if you return to your countries and fail to push beyond the promises of this historic agreement. Now is the time for bold, unprecedented action.
My friends, look at the delegates around you.It is time to ask each other – which side of history will you be on?
As a citizen of our planet who has witnessed so much on this journey, I thank you all for everything you have done to lay the foundation of a solution to this crisis, but after 21 years of debates and conferences, it is time to declare;no more talk, no more excuses, no more 10-year studies, no more allowing the fossil fuel companies to manipulate and dictate the science and policies that affect our future. This is the only body that can do what is needed.
All of you sitting in this very hall, the world is now watching. You’ll either be lauded by future generations, or vilified by them.
Lincoln’s words still resonate to all of us here today: “We will be remembered in spite of ourselves…The fiery trial through which we pass will light us down, in honor or dishonor, to the last generation…We shall nobly save, or meanly lose, the last best hope of Earth.”
That is our charge now – you are the last, best hope of Earth. We ask you to protect it, or we and all living things we cherish are history.
Thank you very much.

Julianne Moore:And the Oscar goes to……Leonardo DiCaprio!
This is the first Oscar and the sixth nomination for Leonardo DiCaprio!
Thank you all so very much.Thank you to the Academy, thank you to all of you in this room.I have to congratulate the other incredible nominees this year, for their unbelievable performances. The Revenant was a product of the tireless efforts of an unbelievable cast and crew I got to work alongside.First off, to my brother in this endeavor, Mr.Tom Hardy.Tom, your fierce talent on screen can only be surpassed by your friendship off screen to Mr.Alejandro Iñárritu. As the history of cinema unfolds, you have forged your way into history these past two years. What an unbelievable talent you are.Thank you, to you and Chivo for creating a transcendent cinematic experience for all of us.Thank you to everybody at Fox and New Regency, and particular Ana Milchan, you were the champion of this endeavor. My entire team.I have to thank everyone from the very onset of my career.Mr.Caton-Jones, for casting me in my first film.Mr.Scorsese for teaching me so much about this cinematic art form.To Mr.Ricky Yorn, thank you for helping me navigate my way through this industry. And to my parents, none of this would be possible without you.And to my friends, I love you dearly, you know who you are.And lastly I just want to say this: Making The Revenant was about man's relationship to the natural world.A world that we collectively felt in 2015 as the hottest year in recorded history. Our production needed to move to the southern tip of this planet just to be able to find snow.Climate change is real, it is happening right now.It is the most urgent threat facing our entire species, and we need to work collectively together and stop procrastinating. We need to support leaders around the world who do not speak for the big polluters, the big corporations, but who speak for all of humanity, for the indigenous people of the world, for the billions and billions of underprivileged people who will be most affected by this. For our children’s children, and for those people out there whose voices have been drowned out by the politics of greed.I thank you all for this amazing award tonight.Let us not take this planet for granted.I do not take tonight for granted.Thank you so very much.
