中学英语教学的目的之一在与培养学生使用英语进行交际的能力,也就是说英语的听、说、读、写能力。传统的应试教学模式,重读、写能力训练,轻听、说能力的培养,留下了英语教育中的“聋哑”后遗症。如何提高学生听力水平,给我们从事基础英语教育的同仁们留下了深思。

一、“听”在教学中的地位

“听”是人们交际活动的基本的形式。弗里斯说:“学生学会说英语的前提首先是听。”亚里山大也说过,“掌握一种语言,首先是听懂,听懂的比重占有90%,能听懂才觉得舒服,听不懂就觉得不自在。”由此可见,听在英语诸多的交际功能中占主导地位。

在当今社会中,随着各种媒体的广泛使用,听的素质变的日益重要了,但目前中学英语教学中仍存在重阅读,轻听说的现象,学生听力培养和提高往往被忽视。在完成了六年英语学习的高中毕业生中,英语笔试能力卓而不凡的不乏其人,但每当听别人说英语却是一头雾水,糊里糊涂。为改变这种状况我们必须加大听力训练,因而注重并加强听力教学方法的探索与研究,是提高中学英语听力水平的关键所在。

二、听力训练的一般方法

1、用英语组织教学,使英语听力经常化

课堂是实施英语听力训练的主阵地,要为学生创造一个良好的语言环境,就必须用英语组织教学。例如:在一篇课文的Dialogue教学中,向学生出示一副画着漂亮自行车的图片,然后对学生说:look at this picture , what can you see ?(I can see a bike).通过这样的情景教学,即使学生不看书,也能容易听懂对话内容,从而增加了学生在课内接受听力训练的机会。

用英语组织课堂教学是对学生进行听力训练最基本、最简便、最实效的形式,在用英语组织课堂教学的过程中,应注意以下几点:(1)培养学生听英语的浓厚兴趣,增强他们提高听力的信心。乌申斯基曾说过:“没有任何兴趣,被迫进行的学习会扼杀学生掌握知识的愿望。”因此,培养学生对“听”的兴趣,是进行听力训练的前提。

(2)努力提高自身业务素质,尽可能做到用流利得体的英语组织课堂教学。教师的言辞,学生都会效仿,甚至于教师的发音、语调以及表达方式,学生也有可能模仿得很真。因此,英语教师必须加强业务修养,用流利、标准的课堂英语口语组织教学。

2、合理设计听力训练方式,使听力训练规范化

中学英语听力训练方式很多,主要包括听音辩音、听说对话、听写、听力理解等。

(1)辩音训练要随时随地进行。

(2)听说对话训练要抓平时。

听是理解信息,说是表达和传递信息,听是说的基础,说是听的提高。因此,中学英语训练的第一步是如何让学生开口说英语,要重在他们用英语自由表达的习惯,要抓平时,抓养成。

(3)听写训练要抓反复

听写是最朴实、最简便的听力训练方式,也是提高听力水平必不可少的一环。它是一种限时性强,输入量大,需要高度集中一个人的注意力并充分调动一个人所有语言知识的脑力劳动过程。听写作为一种固定的日常练习,使学生养成良好的听写习惯,当然听写有一种循序渐进的过程,可以从单调词组开始,逐步过渡到段落及至全文。

(4)理解训练要抓突出。

听力理解包括对句子和文章的基本事实的认定及文章相关内容间逻辑关系的推断,是听力的高级表现形式,必须要常抓不懈。尤其在听力过程中,抓重点、抓突出,争取做到学生对听力有足够的重视。

3、遵守听力规律,使听力训练科学化

英语听力是一个“细活”,需要付出一定时间才能提高。但是教师在教学过程中,需要掌握规律,对症下药。

(1)明确目的。

在做听力练习之前,特别是听力材料是短文时,必须让学生明白他们要做什么,让学生了解语言材料的背景,然后浏览题干部分及答案,让他们感到心中有数。

(2)掌握技巧。

在训练听力时对学生进行听法指导是十分必要的。首先要消除畏惧心理、增强自信,然后要告诫学生不因为一两个单词没听懂而患得患失,要抓住关键词,抓主要线索,抓整体。还要让学生在进行听力测试时尽量记录下材料的基本事实。

(3)精心选择听力材料。听力材料的适当选择是直接影响学生的“听”的积极性和听力效果的。教师应选择由易到难,由浅到深的系列材料,可以先从辩音入手,然后逐步过渡到短句、长句、段落及篇章结构,再应结合新教材的特点,选择语言规范,交际性强又十分按英美文化和习俗的语言材料。

(4)引导学生用英语思维,使听力训练个性化。

学生在听英语的过程中,习惯于将听到的一切都翻译成汉语,人为的增强了听力理解过程中的英译汉,然后再到汉译英的环节,从而跟不上速度,提不高效率,指导学生用英语思维,减少心译过程,使学生把听到的或自己表达的英语与客观事物建立直接关系,是培养学生良好的听力习惯,提高学生听力效果的主要一环,同时要教育学生不要把一切都翻译成母语。

三、中学生英语听力遇到的困难

1、语言上的困难 所听的材料中出现新词,新句型和新语法现象,或者由于连续、弱读、失去爆破、重音移动等而使词句发生变化,这些都会引起听的困难,克服这种困难最初可通过分析性听力练习来解决。

2、内容上的困难

学生听英语时,由于不熟悉英美人的生活习惯、文化特色、兴趣爱好等,常会感到所听材料显无具体的新词名着,但却不能听懂内容。所以听力练习配合一定的情景,并在教学中注意介绍文化背景。

3、心理上的困难

中学生听英语的潜在困难属于心理障碍,总感到被动、无把握,因此过分紧张。这样,本来可以听懂的也听不懂了。不要过分注意每个音,每个词,每个句,每一细节。听的时候的注意要集中到内容上而不是语言上,大意上而不是细节上,正在听的而不是已听过的。

总之,学生的听力训练要以简单、明显、确切为原则,使学生集中注意力于听,同时对于一些专门用来检查听力理解的做法还要进行一定的练习,使学生的理解与反应同步进行。参考书目: 《中学英语教学法》 主编: 胡春洞 高等教育出版

——浅说英语单词教学中的“先学后教”

【摘 要】本文借助英语单词教学针对“先学后教”的教学理论就其“可行性”和“必要性”进行了阐述，并用实际教学例子围绕“„先学‟学什么”、“„先学‟如何学”、“„后教‟怎么教”三个方面对“先学后教”的方法和手段进行了论证，结论为：运用“先学后教”的教学模式进行单词教学，是真正实现学生从死记硬背的“奴隶”转变成轻松高效的“将军”的有效途径，是学生在课堂上“翻身作主”的有效办法！

英语的听、说、读、写都离不开单词，单词教学在小学英语教学中有着极其重要的地位。长期以来，小学英语单词教学大多还没有走出“死记硬背”的圈子，有没有能够彻底改变这种单调、效率低下的教学方法呢？答案是肯定的。我认为“先学后教”应该是最好的选择。

“先学后教”模式具有超前性与针对性、独立性与参与性、异步性与开放性的特点，每堂课教师都不要先讲，而是先让学生自学。“先学后教”中的“先学”不是盲目地学，而是在教师指导下自学，学生带着教师布置的任务和既定的目标自学，学生的自学成为一堂课的起点，是这种教学模式的最大特色和亮点。

一、“先学后教”的可行性和必要性

“先学后教”的教学模式最早是由江苏省泰兴市洋思中学提出来的，是对传统的“先教后学、课后作业”教学模式的颠覆性改革。

小学英语的单词教学能不能适应这一教学方法呢？不少教师都质疑过。我曾经在小学高年级和中年级的英语教学中以单词教学为突破口采用“先学后教”方法，通过对合格率、巩固率、优秀率等数据的前后比较分析，运用“先学后教”的方式效果非常明显，我确信，小学英语单词教学运用这种方法是可行的。听了市教育局英语教研室邓宁霞老师的一堂成功的示范课，给了我很多启示，更加证明了这一点。

余文森教授在《有效教学十讲》中说：“当学生处于相对独立和基本独立的学习阶段，具有一定的独立学习能力的时候，必须„先学后教‟”。余教授还说，不论学生处于什么样的学习阶段，也不论学生是怎样的依靠老师，每个学生都具有相当强的独立学习的能力，这种学习能力是与生俱来的。现在高年级学生已有了一定的英语基础，中年级学生也有一定的生活基础，因此，在单词教学中，采用“先学后教”模式是是一定可行的。

目前小学英语教学改革就是要把“以教师为中心”的教学模式转变为“以学生为中心”的教学模式，“先学后教”模式体现了新课程所提倡的让学生自主学习、探究学习的原则，与教改方向是完全一致的。从这点出发，运用“先学后教”方式进行英语单词教学也是完全必要的，因为：（1）“先学后教”能提高学生的学习兴趣和激发学生的学习动力。（2）“先学后教”有助于学生养成独立思考、自主学习的习惯。

（3）“先学后教”更能增强教师教学的针对性。“针对性”避免了教学的盲目性和面面俱到。正是这种有针对性的教学，才达到“教师少教，学生多学”的理想效果。

（4）“先学后教”有利于提高学习效果和教学效率。“先学后教”提高了学生的参与热情，增强了学生的自信心，缩小了优生和后进生之间的差距，在根本上提高了教学效率，为学生的未来发展打下了坚实的基础。

二、英语单词教学如何进行“先学后教” 那么在英语单词教学中如何运用“先学后教”，让学生学得轻松、教师教得高效呢？我认为主要解决以下三个问题：一是明确“先学”学什么，二是明确“先学”如何学，三是明确“后教”怎么教。

（一）明确“先学”学什么

“先学”与传统的“预习”不同，“先学”并不是学生漫无目的地学，而是在教师指导下进行的有明确目标和明确内容的学习。主要学习以下三方面内容：

1、学习简单易学的内容。

简单的、学生通过自学能学会的内容会让学生产生学习的欲望和兴趣，太难的内容会让学生产生畏惧心理，不利于自学习惯的培养。

2、复习与本课单词有关联的知识。

例如PEP教材六年级下册Unit2 A Let‟s learn中的单词是有关疾病的，have a headache, have a cold，have a toothache等，针对新课单词，我布置学生复习相关的单词：头、眼睛、耳朵、腿、口、牙齿、手、手臂、脚、鼻子、寒冷的、炎热的、凉爽的、暖和的。

3、学习与旧知识有联系的新知识。

与旧知有密切联系的新知，学生学起来觉得轻松，会产生成就感。如：五年级下册Unit 4 的单词，reading a book，cooking dinner，doing the dishes，cleaning the room, 都是在旧单词基础上演变过来的。

教师可以根据教学内容、学生实际以及学生的思维特点，将“先学”内容编写在《自学指南》里，指导学生“先学”。《自学指南》要有针对性、趣味性、可行性、可检性，要能够促进学生养成良好的自主自觉“先学”的习惯。

以PEP教材六年级下册Unit2 What‟s the matter? A Let‟s learn为例，我让学生在课前借助磁带、光盘和课本里的中文翻译来学习单词。在《自学指南》中明确告诉学生学什么，如何学，即告诉学生听P16 A Let‟s learn录音三次，并跟读三次，在课本上写出其中文意思，并复习与此相关的旧单词。具体做法：自学指南在上新课的前一天分发给学生，布置学生按要求完成，强调完成自学指南比完成课后作业更重要。

（二）明确“先学”如何学

在课堂上，为了使学生真正投入到“先学”之中，达到学生易学、乐学的目的，方法大致如下：

1、迁移学习法：从旧知识中引出新知识，使新旧知识贯通、相互迁移。

如：ear-hear-near, pen-ten-hen, all-tall-ball-small 等等。这种以旧引新的方式，应该成为我们英语教学中单词“先学”的突破口。

2、对比学习法：把新授单词与旧单词进行对比，比较其音、形、义。

例如：教四年级下册《Unit6 A At a farm》A.Let's learn时，在每个新单词的下面对应写出与其有关系的旧单词，让学生先划出新旧单词的共同地方，然后小组讨论，大胆尝试读出新单词。sheep cow hen horse goat lamb(she)(how)(pen)(for)(boat)(lamp)利用将新旧单词配对的方法，引导学生自己朗读、体验、思考、揣摩找出两者之间的联系，从而推断出新单词的发音，进一步引导学生了解字母组合在单词中的发音规律。这种利用学生已有的知识结构去学习新单词的方法，既能使知识结构不断层，又能让学生学习信心倍增。

3、分解学习法：这主要是根据单词结构上的特点来分解单词，学习其发音和意义，在学习较长单词时可采用这种方法。如，在教五年级下册《Unit6 A field trip》A.Let's learn时，让学生小组合作，尝试读出单词的发音，并说出你的朗读方法。

catching butterflies experiment watching insects(cat but fly)(expensive)(watch)(in, set)学生在读自己猜测出来的新单词的读音时，要允许学生读错，提倡学生大胆开口尝试，引导他们推敲出单词的正确发音。

4、竞赛学习法：也就是在单词学习中，采用如单词接龙等方式，分组进行比赛，哪组说的单词多，哪组就获胜。这种学习方法用在复习课中特别有效。

如，在教六年级下册Unit1形容词的比较级时，我让学生比赛说形容词，看谁说出的形容词最多。然后让学生将所说出的形容词改为比较级，让他们自己归纳、总结出比较级的构成规则。在实行“先学后教”时，学习方法固然重要，学习方式也不能忽视，尤其要重视小组合作学习和学习小组的建设。学习小组中的成员最好是好、中、差生搭配，按座位就近编排。小组成员之间的合作是需要经常进行培训的，小组编排好了就不要随意调换。正如英语教育专家李静纯老师所说，学习小组就好比鸟儿搭建了一个窝，窝没了就会影响小鸟的歌唱。

（三）明确“后教”怎么教

如果说课堂前的“先学”是要明确目标和任务，那么课堂中的“后教”则是需要“以学定教”了。“先学后教”的“教”不是单纯指讲授的意思，应该是“点拨”的意思，是学生充分自学后，利用讨论、质疑、交流等方式解决自学过程中暴露的问题，通过“兵教兵”方式和教师的“四两拨千斤”的“点拨”，促进学生间的相互合作、相互帮助，加强教师与学生的互动。

针对以上分析，既然原因已经存在，且在短时间内无法改变现状，那么老师确实需要好好思考，采取切实可行的方法及措施，较好地引导孩子有效地完成活动手册。我认为可以从以下几个方面入手：

1、抓住课堂时间，尽量面批。

教师任务重，不能布置大量的作业，否则会不能及时批改，但是二年级的孩子每周有四节英语课，因此老师可以尽量在课堂上练习书写，这样也方便老师进行面批，及时给孩子进行指导。

2、巧设练习，增加趣味性。

设计形式新颖的书写练习（如搭配、改错、替换等），会对学生产生很大的吸引力，就是最简单的抄写字母也要变换着方式，如按元音归类抄、按大小写字母分类抄。教师把“少而精”的练习奉献给学生，学生自然不会产生畏惧的情绪和泛味的感觉。

3、渗透做题的“秘密武器”。

“秘密武器”即做题技巧，任何题型都存在一定的做题技巧，这样说虽然显得太“应试”，但是我们的孩子不可避免地都要接受卷面考试，因而渗透做题技巧是必要的，将这些技巧“秘密”化，更加能引起孩子的兴趣，更加能引发孩子去思考。

如第四模块活动一，听音选词填空，孩子们一开始听就乱了“怎么办啊，老师，写不完，好快啊！”我神秘地告诉他们“我有秘密武器！”孩子们兴趣一下子来了，很认真地听我的方法，于是比较顺利地完成练习。以后每次遇到听音写词，我就会问，你用了秘密武器吗？遇到别的题，如看图选词填空，我也会引导孩子思考“这么多的单词可以选，你有什么秘密武器吗？”于是许多孩子逐渐在思考中潜移默化地掌握了做题技巧。

以上是我关于有效完成活动手册的一些思考，教无定法，学也无定法，只要我们多思考，引导孩子多思考，很多枯燥的事情会变得有趣一些，希望孩子们在老师的引导下，能充满兴趣地有效地完成活动手册，同时能将这些运用到别的学习当中，开心地、快乐地学习。
