春节前，我和爸爸妈妈回姥姥家过年的时候路过西安，爸爸妈妈带我参观了西安的古城墙。

我们买的门票背面介绍说，这座城墙距今已有六百余年，城墙高12米，基宽16-18米，顶宽12-14米，城周有观敌台98座，四周均有登城马道，有垛口5984个。城外有护城河，四门跨河外设有吊桥。它是我国现存规模最大，比较完整的唯一的一座封建古城墙。我们是从南门上城墙参观的。南门也叫“永宁门”，算是南边的一个主城门。没有见到城墙之前，妈妈给我讲了一些有关城墙的事，我还以为城墙就是一堵普通的围墙，心想围墙有什么好参观的呢？再说，人又怎么能上到墙上，而且还能打仗呢？我的脑子里出现了一串串的问号。可是等我来到城墙下抬头一看，才知道这城墙好高啊！足有三四层楼那么高，而且非常厚，这哪是普通的围墙呀。我们顺着城门边的楼梯，也就是登城马道上到了城墙的顶上。一上去，我就更惊奇了，城墙的顶上真宽呀，足可以并排开四五辆汽车！上面还长的有树呢？靠着城外的那一面墙很高，大概有两米高，顶部有一个个长方形的垛口，那些垛口都是以前守城的士兵观察敌人用的。如果敌人进攻了，还可以开弓放箭。靠城里的那面墙稍低一些，只起了防护的作用，以免人掉下去。城墙顶上的地面是斜的，外高里低，这样雨水很容易流走。我爬上台阶从垛口往下看，看到了城墙外的护城河和河上正对着南门的吊桥，还有远处马路上来来往往的人们和汽车。

站在城墙上，我有一种居高临下的感觉。古代的人能建造出这 1

么雄伟的城墙，他们真是太了不起了，他们一定很聪明，也一定很勤劳。这次我参观西安古城墙收获真大呀！
