What did people do in yesterday and what do people do today The Spring Festival is China and some Asian's nation traditional holiday.Because the Nian Monster is afraid of red, flames, and noises, so people have to stick couplets in the Spring Festival, set off firecrackers, banging drums , different periods, different regions, different ethnic customs is not the same.In China, Spring Festival is also the custom of ethnic people.People of all ethnic groups according to their own customs, held a variety of celebration activities, to show their strong national unique charm.The Spring Festival is an ancient Chinese festival, is also one of the most important holiday for the whole year, how to celebrate this holiday, in one thousand years of history development, formed some relatively fixed customs and habits.In the past,people had many activities to do.I will show you what are them.The first day of spring festval is The laba festival,the 8th day of December.in this day, Chinese usually made Laba garlic and drank Laba porridge.But in fact,you can hardly ever see them on your table.On 23th,people sacrificed to Zhaoshen, Zhaoshen is a deity of Tianting,his job was reporting to The Yuhuangdadi,.In ancient times,people thought if Zhaoshen say good words to Yuhuangdadi,they would get lucky in next year.So they had made sweet,water,bean, straw for him.Sweet can stick his mouth,so he couldn’t say bad things to Yuhuangdadi.Sounds interesting,isn’t it?In this day people also made Stove candy.Stove candy is a kind of maltose,.His viscosity is very big.You need put it outside in winter.Because of the cold weather, TangGua is hard and some tiny air bubbles is inside, It has sweet crisp, distinctive flavour, but very few people buy.It seemed people want to be better in new year.On 25th,people had one thing to do.People had to meet Yuhuangdadi after Zhaoshen went to meet Yuhuangdadi.On 26th , people usually cut pig meat.There is an old saying, “December 26, kill pig to cut meat”,it means to be ready for the food of Spring festival.so people will “cut the meat“ into the year, because of farming economy is not developed, people often only eat meat in the Spring festival, so they called it” year meat“.On 27th,people need took a shower in Public baths and washed clothes together, In ancient,people think it could clean your body and wash off some dirty thngs you could not see.Traditional folk to be concentrated on this day in a bath, laundry, remove the whammy of one year, preparing for the New Year.There is an old saying, ” 27th washing effect, 28th wash dirty".This is some activities we aren’t doing today, so now I will tell you some things we still doing.On 24th,people need to clean their house.Clean the room In Spring Festival is the tradition of Chinese.When the Spring Festival, every family will clean the room.It means ring out the Old Year and ring in the New Year.On 28, people need to steam bread and

thpost Nian photo, couplets,many kinds of deities.On 29th,people will sacrifice Ancestors' grave.It must be a long time Chinese sacrifices their Ancestors.When we do it,we will be very serious,we will burn Qianzhi,it is some paper made to resemble money and burned as an offering to the dead.It is the most important activity while Spring festival.And then,it’s the happiest time!We have to stay up late all night!My report seems oneting that we lost many of the Spring Festival activities.It’s sounds scared that if we lost them,how do we save our traditions?That is the most

Celebrating Chinese New Year's Day A very good morning/afternoon to you all,everybody.My name is ***,I have the honour to share some ideas about Chinese New Year's Day with you here.Well,I am sure you are not strange with it,for it's the most important festival in our country.As we all know,Chinese New Year's Day is on the first day of the first lunar month of the year,usually coming during January and February.When it comes,China will have a long holiday.People who work far away from their hometown all return home to celebrate it.On the Eve night,all members of the family gather and have a big meal which is called Tuanyuan Fan in Chinese.In north China,people eat dumplings for the meal,while in south China,they have rice,meat and chicken.Parents give pocket money to their children.And the next day which is the first day of the lunar year and is also the most important day during the holiday,people wear new clothes,and give their best wishes to each other from door to door.Then people begin to go out,traveling and visiting their relatives and friends.Well,these are not all for our Chinese New Year's Day.But I'm sorry I have to stop here because of the time.Thank you!

S: Pretty good.The spring festival is coming soon.Do you know the origin of Chinese New Year.E: Yeah , a little.Spring festival starts from the beginning of the spring.It is the first term of the twenty-four in coordination with the changes of nature.the first day of lunar calendar.It is the most important and popular festival in China.S: Yeah , Spring festival is also my favorite.Because I could have a long holiday.As far as I know , Spring festival originates from the word “nian”，which in modern Chinese means “year”.Nian is a monster that start to prey on human at the night before the new year.So people putting up red paper and firing firecrackers to scare away the monster Nian.which lead to the birth of spring festival.E: What do you usually prepare for the festival.S:In my family ,we need to clean the house and buy enough vegetables and meat to guarantee having a good holiday.H:Yeah , we will do the same thing and I am asked to do the cleaning , because my mother said it could get rid of the ill-fortune.It is so boring.S:Oh , what a pity.What do you usually do at the new year’s eve.E:We usually have a family reunion dinner ,Of course , including, beef , fish ,chicken, and many delicious food.After that , we usually see the spring festival gala and stay up until the dawn.Then the first day of the new year coming and we eat dumplings for breakfast.What about you.S:The same as you , our family have supper together and play cards and talk all night.It is so impressive that I can remember it for long time.And the senior would give the junior the pocket money , which is my favorite time.After the new year’ eve , do you visit your relatives ? E: I have no plan.I think staying at home with my parents is better.Can you tell me something about the traditional custom of the spring festival ,such as pasting spring couplets , set off firecrackers and so on.S: of course ,there is a lot of fun when pasting spring couplets ,spring couplets are a pair of red paper with blessing characters.It can construct the cheerful atmosphere of the festival.E: I remember that our family ‘couplets was always made by my grandpa in the past.However, recently, we bought the spring couplets in the market.S: yeah, fire-crackers is a indispensible thing during the festival, which are meant to say goodbye to the old year and greet in the new year.The firecracker is an unique product in China.It can also foster a joyful atmosphere.It’s a wonderful invention , what do you think.E: Indeed good.eat and eat, As the old Chinese saying goes: food is everything.Because there are a plenty of delicious food waiting for you.The tradition is to have different main courses everyday from the 1st day of the New Year to the 15th day of the New Year, from Jiao Zi(dumplings), noodles, spring rolls, sticky rice cakes, and Tang Yuan(stuffed rice balls).Do you like the dumplings? S:oh, yes.I can`t wait.Dumpling is my favorite.You know? Besides the delicious taste, each food has a meaning as well: for instance, Jiao Zi looks like gold ingot, implying a wealthy year ahead.You cannot have a complete Spring Festival without having jiaozi!E:absolutely, the whole family will sit together to make jiaozi and celebrate the Spring Festival.Another tradition is staying up late on new year`s eve.However, now there are less and less people in cities who will stay up late to see New Year coming.S: I agree with you ,but a new habit has been fostered among the Chinese.watching the new year`s gala which is a variety show held by China Central Television(CCTV)since 1983..It brings laughter to billions of people and creates many popular words.What`s your opinion? E: en , there is no doubt that the gala has become one part of the new year`s eve.Everybody will talk about the show next morning.If you miss it ,you will be out.
