在世界的每一个角落都有许多热爱生命的人,他们让自己活得更充实、幸福、快乐。但也有有些人不把生命当回事,白白地糟蹋它,生命的价值好象在他们手中变成了一堆没用的烂泥。张海迪阿姨就是一位热爱生命的人。她在五岁因为患病,高位截肢,所以一直没有进入学校。可她在童年时就以自己顽强的毅力自学知识,她先后自学了小学、中学、大学的课程,真是让人敬佩!在她十五岁时,跟着父母来到了一个贫困的小山村,她并没有逃避这里艰苦的生活,而是以乐观向上的精神奉献出了自己的青春。在那里给上小学的孩子们教书,还克服种种困难学习医学知识,热心地为乡亲们治病,十分受乡亲们的爱戴与称赞。在此,我想到了一句名言:“我的一生始终保持着这样一个信念,生命的意义在于付出,在于给予,而不是接受,也不是在于争取。”张海迪阿姨就是在那时,以不屈向上的精神,付出、给予。后来张海迪阿姨走上了文学创造的道路,她又以自己顽强的毅力克服了疾病与困难,精益求精地创作,执着地为文学而战,通过自己刻苦的努力,已经出版了许多作品,让我感受最深的是《轮椅上的梦》,完全说出了张海迪阿姨的内心世界。至今她已获得了许多文学创作的奖项,张海迪阿姨是一个才华横溢的人,她用自己高尚的品质服务社会。
可是还有人不热爱生命。在印度有许多中学生自杀了,这一个个生命就像雨点般冲向天堂,他们自杀的原因只有一个:学习压力、负担重!不就是遇到了一点儿困难,竟然去放弃了自己的生命。
生命是群星中最珍贵的一颗,也是闪得最耀眼的一颗。
生命可贵,应该珍惜生命、热爱生命,让有限的生命闪耀出无限的价值。

(小说的鉴赏,有三点是必须注意的:
一、要了解小说所反映的社会背景,作者写作、发表时的社会背景及作者的写作意图,在此基础上领会小说所揭示的主题思想;
二、要认真分析人物形象,通过对有关描写方法的研究,剖析人物形象,理解典型环境中的典型性格,从而深入领会小说的思想和艺术;
三、要研究小说的故事情节、线索、结构是怎样为创造形象、表达主题服务的。)
二、背景导航
1. 了解小说社会背景,请学生展示课前搜集的图文资料。互相交流对杰克•伦敦生平、代表作品、作品时代背景的认识和看法。

三、速读课文,整体感知
1.让学生谈谈本文的主要内容。
参考答案:本文写一位淘金者在与同样病弱的野狼的较量、跟踪中,最终咬死了狼,他吮吸了狼血的故事,让我们感受到生命本身那巨大的潜能,歌颂生命的无比强大。
《热爱生命》讲述的是这样一个故事:一个美国西部的淘金者在返回的途中被朋友抛弃了,他独自跋涉在广袤的荒原上。冬天逼近了,寒风夹着雪花向他袭来,他已经没有一点食物了,而且他的腿受了伤,鞋子破了,脚在流血。他只能歪歪斜斜地蹒跚在布满沼泽、丘陵、小溪的荒原上,非常艰难地前行着。就在他的身体非常虚弱的时候,他遇到了一匹病狼。他发现这匹病狼跟在他的身后。舔着他的血迹尾随着他。就这样,两个濒临死亡的生灵拖着垂死的躯壳在荒原上互相猎取对方。为了活着回去、为了战胜这匹令他作呕的病狼.最终在人与狼的战斗中人获得了胜利,他咬死了狼,喝了狼的血。最终他获救了,使生命放射出耀眼的光芒。
2.引导学生熟悉课文的结构、层意。

课文可分为三个部分:
第一部分(1-16),写主人公在饥饿与疲惫的情况下,借助意志力艰难地前行; 第二部分(17-22),写一只病狼尾随主人公,开始了漫长的人与狼的对峙;
第三部分(23-27),写主人公与狼殊死搏斗,最终获得了胜利。
3.浏览课文,作批注。
1.教师范例:
他重新振作起来,继续前进,心里又产生了一种新的恐惧。这不是害怕他会束手无策地死于断粮的恐惧,而是害怕饥饿还没有耗尽他的最后一点求生力,而他已经给凶残地摧毁了。这地方的狼很多。狼嚎的声音在荒原上飘来飘去,在空中交织成一片危险的罗网,好像伸手就可以摸到,吓得他不由举起双手把它向后推去,仿佛它是给风刮紧了的帐篷。
对狼嚎声音的描写,形象地写出了“他”在孤独无助的状态下,荒野给“他”造成的心理压力。
2.学生快速阅读,对“荒原觅食”部分作阅读批注,然后汇报自己的独特体验。勾画环境描写、心理描写、细节描写的语句、段落。
四、导读探究

一、质疑解疑,把握内容
1.学生提出疑难问题,师生共同解疑。
2.教师在学生质疑的基础上,可适当补充一些问题。
小说的主人公在茫茫荒原上面临着哪些生死考验?他为什么能超越极限、战胜病狼而顽强地生存下来?
学生筛选、概括,教师点拨:
主人公所面临的生死考验有饥饿、恶劣的天气(“接下来是几天可怕的雨雪”)、个人体力的极度虚弱、伤病以及野兽的威胁(“这地方的狼很多”)等。他之所以能战胜这些并顽强地生存下来,是因为他坚韧顽强,不畏艰难险阻。他虽然身体衰弱无比。并且时常处于昏迷之中,却有着惊人的意志力。在这场人与自然、人与自我的至死搏斗中,人的伟大与坚强也最鲜明地体现了出来。作品所要弘扬的正是这样—种硬汉精神。
参考问题:
(1)小说的主人公没有名字,加上一个名字是否更好?(作者没有写出“他”的名字,因为“他”是一切热爱生命的人的代表,它不是一个单一的人,而是一类人,只要热爱生命就可以是“他”。加上一个名字,反而使人物的典型性、代表性减弱了。)
(2)文中一再提到他已不再感到痛苦了,这样写有什么作用?
(不求一致,意合就可。)
(3)文中的他已伤残、衰弱到了极点,最后是什么支撑着他往前走的?
参考答案:是对生命的热爱。虽然伤残满身,体质极度虚弱,但他的心没死,他对生的渴望之火没有熄灭,所以,他能向着那一点生命的目标不停地、不由自主的前进。
(4)文中写比尔的下场有什么作用?
参考答案:比尔无视同伴对自己的呼喊,作为一个尚有能力的人,向生命的希望奔去,可生命却与他开了一个大大的玩笑,比尔比“他”走得快却先倒下了。这正是──背弃良知的懦弱人性的悲剧。
(5)“他”是在同饥饿和死亡抗争,还是同别的什么抗争?
参考答案:“他”与其说是同饥饿和死亡抗争,还不如说是在与恐惧抗争。作者用精湛的文学笔法,形象地描绘了这种抗争。让我们从字里行间看到了生命本身那巨大的潜能,这种能量是无法诋毁的,它会让你活下去。不管你面对的是什么,哪怕是要吞噬你的荒野,是吃掉你的野兽,或是饥饿、疲惫,生命都会帮助你战胜它。
(6)这篇文章告诉我们一个什么真理?
参考答案:敬畏我们的生命,相信我们的生命,和我们的生命紧紧相依,和我们的生命结成最紧密的“联盟”,我们就会感受到生命的剽悍与强大。
二、探究讨论,欣赏语言
这是一篇逼真的小说,紧张的故事情节中没有一点作者人为的痕迹,没有多余的议论,它只是清晰地展示了一个人在荒原中历尽艰难的求生过程,不动声色地描绘出了生命的伟岸和强大。
本文语言有什么特色?你认为哪些地方写得好?试对它进行赏析,说说它好在什么地方。教师先作赏析示例,然后由学生自由发言,充分发表自己的意见,学生肯定会有许多独到的见解和认识。
示例:
1.“这些残骨在一个钟头前还是一头小驯鹿,一面尖叫,一面飞奔,非常活跃。”这是一个残缺的生命的一种对活力、健康的本能的虚构。小驯鹿的死,似乎也预示着他在不久也会有相同的下场,这是一种同病相怜的悲哀。作者在这里没有用华丽的辞藻,没有用深奥的语言,但朴实的语言中却有很深的言外之意。
2.“于是,慢慢地,就在狼无力地挣扎着,他的手无力地掐着的时候,他的另一只手已经慢慢摸过来,一手把狼抓住。”“无力”的狼、“无力”的手,形象地写出了人与狼的当时的境况,而“慢慢地”“一下”却又写出了人的计谋已久,也预示了人的最终获胜。
3.学生重点研渎小说最为精彩的场面也是高潮部分:人和狼最后的格斗。体会主人公坚毅顽强、勇敢拼搏的生命意志。
探究:小说的象征意味非常浓厚,这是西方许多文学作品的艺术特点。清揣摩文中显著的象征物“狼”的隐喻。
学生合作探讨,教师明确:
杰克·伦敦“为生存而拼搏”并获得成功,他喜欢用”狼”自比,小说中的场景构设无疑是他对社会进化论思想的体现。艰难爬行的主人公和一直尾随其后的饥饿不堪、奄奄一息的狼所面临的选择是简单而清晰的:要么战胜对方生存下去,要么被对方战胜,沦为牺牲品。主人公以他坚毅勇敢的性格和顽强不屈的生命意志,在同狼的最后搏斗中取胜,成为真正的“强者”。小说启示人们,生命是神奇而宝贵的,只有敬畏生命,热爱生命,才能让生命光芒四射。
文中的“狼”可以看作险恶的自然环境与自然力量的一种隐喻。
三、拓展延伸
1. 作为朋友的比尔抛弃了主人公,但主人公在见到比尔尸骨旁的那袋金子时,他为什么不拿走,并且绝不“吮吸比尔的骨头”?

故事情节的传奇性与具体细节的逼真性的高度统一,可以说是这篇小说的最大特色。一方面,这篇小说的整个故事情节都带有传奇色彩。作者将主人公安置到一个困苦险恶到极点的生存环境中,让其经受着一般人难以想象的考验;另一方面,这又是一篇极为逼真的小说,我们在紧张曲折的故事情节中很难找到人为编造的痕迹,作者准确地摹拟了主人公在特定境遇中的心理感受与意识活动.非常逼真地展示了一个疲惫、衰弱的人在荒原上的艰难求生过程,其“真实性”可谓达到了无以复加的程度。
3.引导学生领会小说的主题思想。
(这篇课文描写一个淘金者与饥饿、寒冷、恐怖和死亡做斗争的故事,表现出人战胜自己、战胜自然,生战胜死的积极思想。)
