The Dragon Boat Festival is traditionally celebrated on the fifth day of the fifth month on the lunar calendar, and is therefore often called 'Double Fifth Festival'.In Chinese, the holiday is called Duan Wu Jie.The Dragon Boat Festival commemorates the life and death of the famous Chinese scholar-statesman Qu Yuan, who lived some three centuries before the birth of Christ.Qu Yuan was a loyal minister that served the King of Chu during the Warring States Period.Qu Yuan was a highly respected and trusted advisor to the King of Chu.He fought the corruption of other officials of the court.Initially, Qu Yuan was favored by his sovereign, but over time, his wisdom and erudite ways antagonized the other court officials.Eventually, the intrigues of his rivals exerted enough ill influence on the King that Qu Yuan soon found himself in disfavor.The King began to not listen to Qu Yuan's suggestions and advice.Not long after, the King banished Qu Yuan from Chu.While in exile, Qu Yuan composed many poems expressing his sorrows and concerns for his country and people.Amongst his most famous poems is “Encountering Sorrow,” a poem describing his search for a good sovereign that would listen to good advice regarding government.In the year 295 B.C., at the age of 37, Qu Yuan drowned himself in the Milo River.He clasped a heavy stone to his chest and leaped into the water.Knowing that Qu Yuan was a righteous man, the people of Chu rushed to the river to try to save him.The people desperately searched the waters in their boats looking for Qu Yuan, but they were unsuccessful in their attempt to rescue him.Every year the Dragon Boat Festival is celebrated to commemorate this attempt at rescuing Qu Yuan.When it was known that Qu Yuan had been lost forever, the local people began the tradition of throwing sacrificial cooked rice into the river for their lost hero.However, a local fisherman had a dream that Qu Yuan did not get any of the cooked rice that was thrown into the river in his honor.Instead, it was the fishes in the river that had eaten the rice.So, the following year, the tradition of wrapping the cooked rice in bamboo leaves was begun.The cooked rice wrapped in bamboo leaves later came to be known as zong zi.There is also another version of the story.When it was known that Qu Yuan had been lost to the river, the local fisherman had a dream that the fishes in the river were eating Qu Yuan's body.The local people came up with the idea that if the fishes in the river were not hungry, then they would not eat Qu Yuan's body.So the local people began the tradition of throwing zong zi into the river to feed the fishes in hope that Qu Yuan's body would be spared.端午?的由??nbsp;

每年的农历五月初五是我国民间重要的传统节日———端午节。端午节亦名端阳节、重五节、重午节,民间又俗称“五月节”。有关端午节的由来,民俗中传说较多,归纳起来大体上有如下十种:一说认为端午节是龙的节日。闻一多先生《端午考》考证,端午节是古代吴越民间举行图腾祭的节日,认为端午节实际上是一个龙的节日。二说认为端午节是纪念楚国爱国诗人屈原逝世。据《续齐谐记》记述:屈原在五月初五投汨罗江而死,楚人哀之,每逢此日,以竹筒盛米,投江祭之。三说是据《礼记》载,端午源于周代的蓄兰沐浴。四说认为据东汉时期蔡邕《琴操》中载,端午节系为纪念先贤介子推。五说认为宋代高承《事物纪源》刊文,端午源于春秋时期越王勾践于是日操练水军。六说认为梁宗懔《荆州岁时记》载述,端午是为迎“涛神”伍子胥。《后汉书》中也写道:浙江虞巫上祝曹盱,五月初五在曹娥江上婆娑起舞,迎接伍子胥。后来江浙一带百姓每逢端午逆流而上,举行各种仪式,以悼念伍子胥。七说认为在《道书》中载有五月初五是为祭祀先祖日。八说是据《会稽典录》一书记载,端午是为纪念寻父投江而死的曹娥。九说认为端午起源于夏、商、周时期的夏至节。其时仲夏之日,万物方盛,夏至日,阴气萌生,恐物不懋,故在五月初五以五色印为门户饰,以惩恶气。十说是民间有一传说认为,端午源于湖北沔阳沙湖曾有四位豪杰专门劫富济贫,后因遭当地官兵突袭围困而于五月初五投江而亡。当地民众万分悲哀,将这一天定为端午节,以示悼念。在上述这些传说中,端午纪念屈原一说因屈原的爱国主义精神、刚正不阿的人格力量及其诗作的深远影响,秦汉以后由楚地逐渐传遍神州,为人们所认同并相沿迄今。

农历五月初五是端午节。两千多年来,端午节一直是一个多民族的全民健 身、防疫祛病、避瘟驱毒、祈求健康的民俗佳节。端午节又名端阳节、重午节,据传是中国古代伟大诗人、世界四大文化名 人之一的屈原投汩罗江殉国的日子。两千多年来,每年的农历五月初五就成为了 纪念屈原的传统节日。史料记载,公元前278年农历五月初五,楚国大夫、爱 国诗人屈原听到秦军攻破楚国都城的消息后,悲愤交加,心如刀割,毅然写下绝 笔作《怀沙》,抱石投入汨罗江,以身殉国。沿江百姓纷纷引舟竞渡前去打捞,沿水招魂,并将粽子投入江中,以免鱼虾蚕食他的身体。这一习俗绵延至今,已 有两千多年。千百年来,屈原的爱国精神和感人诗辞,深入人心。人们“惜而哀之,世 论其辞,以相传焉”。在民俗文化领域,中国民众从此把端午节的龙舟竞渡和吃 粽子等,与纪念屈原紧密联系在一起。随着屈原影响的不断增大,始于春秋战国 的端午节也逐步传播开来,成为中华民族的节日。中国的端午节还有许多别称,如:午日节、五月节、浴兰节、女儿节、天中 节、诗人节、龙日等等。虽然名称不同,但各地人们过节的习俗却大同小异。内 容主要有:女儿回娘家,挂钟馗像,悬挂菖蒲、艾草,佩香囊,赛龙舟,比武,击球,荡秋千,给小孩涂雄黄,饮用雄黄酒、吃咸蛋、粽子和时令鲜果等,除了 有迷信色彩的活动逐渐消失外,其余习俗至今已流传中国各地及邻近的国家。岳阳汨罗市屈子祠镇屈子祠 秭归县是屈原的诞生地,也是中国端午节文化最为深厚的地方之一。在中国 很多地方只过一个端午节,而秭归却有三个端午节,农历五月初五为头端午,五 月十五为大端午,五月二十五为末端午。每到端午节,秭归人都要用自己特有的 方式纪念屈原,端午诗会吟屈原、赛龙舟纪念屈原、举行仪式公祭屈原,此外还 有挂艾蒿、插菖蒲、吃粽子、饮雄黄酒等。

每逢端午,华东的江浙一带,老百姓喜欢晚上划龙船,张灯结彩,来往穿梭,情景动人,别具情趣;而贵州的苗族人民在农历五月二十五至二十八举行“龙船 节”,以庆祝插秧胜利和预祝五谷丰登;云南傣族则在“泼水节”赛龙舟,纪念 古代英雄。除祖国大陆在端午节有赛龙舟的风俗外,清朝乾隆年间,台湾也开始举行龙 舟竞渡。当时台湾知府蒋元君曾在台南市法华寺半月池主持友谊赛。现在台湾每 年农历五月初五,都举行龙舟竞赛。而在香港、澳门等地,端午节龙舟竞渡的风 俗也十分盛行。

端午节吃粽子的由来
最早出现的端午时食,应属西汉的“枭羹”。

《史记》“武帝本纪”注引如淳言: “汉使东郡送枭,五月五日为枭羹以赐百官。以恶鸟,故食之”。大约因为枭不易 捕捉,所以吃枭羹的习俗并没有持续下来。剉是端午的主角-粽子,在稍晚的东 汉就已出现。一直要到晋朝,粽子才成为端午的应节食品。《风土记》:“五月 五日,与夏至同,……先此二节一日,又以菰叶裹黏米,杂以粟,以淳浓灰汁煮 之令熟。同时又有另一种端午节食,称为”龟“也只在晋朝昙花一现,随即销声匿 迹。只有《风土记》中称为”角黍“的粽子,因为附会在屈原的传说上,千百年来,成为最受人欢迎的端午节食。从《风土记》中记载的作法看来,当时的粽子是以黍为主要原料,除了粟子 以外,不添加其余馅料。但在讲究饮食的中国人巧手经营之下,今天我所能看到 的粽子,不论是造型或内容,都有五花八门的变化。先就造型而言,各地的粽子有三角、四角锥形、枕头形、小宝塔形、圆棒形 等。粽叶的材料则因地而异。南方因为盛产竹子,就地取材以竹叶来缚粽。一般 人都喜欢采用新鲜竹叶,因为乾竹叶绑出来的粽子,熟了以没有竹叶的清香。北 方人则习惯用苇叶来绑粽子。苇叶叶片细长而窄,所以要用两三片重叠起来使用。粽子的大小也差异甚巨,有达二、三斤的巨型兜粽,也有小巧玲珑,长不及两寸 的甜粽。就口味而言,粽子馅荤素兼具,有甜有咸。北方的粽子以甜味为主,南方的 粽子甜少咸多。料的内容,则是最能突显地方特色的部分。北平的粽子大约可分为三种: 一种是纯用糯米制成的白粽子,蒸熟以蘸糖吃。另一种是小枣粽,馅心以小枣、果脯为主。第三种是豆沙粽,比较少见。华北地 区另有一种以黄黍代糯米的粽子,馅料用的是红枣。蒸熟之,只见黄澄澄的粘黍 中嵌著红艳艳的枣儿,有人美其名为“黄金裹玛瑙”。浙江的湖州粽子,米质香软,分为咸甜种。咸的以新鲜猪肉,浸泡上等酱油。每只粽子用肥瘦肉各一片作馅。甜粽以枣泥或豆沙为馅。上面加一块猪板油。蒸

熟,猪油融入豆沙,十分香滑适口,“五芳斋”出品的粽子尤其著名。馅料都经过 专人选择,有八宝粽、鸡肉粽、豆沙粽、鲜肉粽等,各具特色。四川的椒盐豆粽也别具特色。先将糯米、红豆浸泡半日,加入花椒面、川盐 及少许腊肉丁、包成四角的小粽。以大火煮三个小时,煮熟再放在铁丝网上用木 炭烤黄。吃起来外焦里嫩,颇具风味。广东的中山芦兜粽,特点是圆棒形、粗如手臂。配料也分甜咸两种。甜的有 莲蓉、豆沙、栗蓉、枣泥;咸的有咸肉、烧鸡、蛋黄、甘贝、冬菇、绿豆、叉烧 等

等。闽南的粽子分硷粽、肉粽和豆粽。硷粽是在糯米中加入硷液蒸熟而成。兼具 粘、软、滑的特色。冰透加上蜂蜜或糖浆尤为可口。肉粽的材料有卤肉、香菇、蛋黄、虾米、笋乾等。以厦门的肉粽最为出名。豆粽则盛行於泉州一带,用九月 豆混合少许盐,配上糯米裹成。蒸熟,豆香扑鼻,也有人沾上白糖来吃。

两千多年前,伟大的爱国诗人屈原在汩罗江边仰天长叹一声,投入了滚滚激流,两千多年后,五月初五成了传统节日——端午节,大家包粽子、划龙舟、煮鸡蛋,用各种方式来纪念这位伟大的爱国诗人。

又是一年端午节,我很想体会体会这种气氛,便向奶奶要求,让她教我怎样包粽子。

包粽子,首先要把箬叶洗干净,在热水中泡软。再准备好枣子、鸡蛋、肉等做陷,将自己喜欢的陷煮得香喷喷的,就可以开工了。先把长长的箬叶折叠,围拢来,做成一个窝,中间放进调配好的糯米和粳米,包出棱角。然后把陷放在米里,和在一起揉匀,最后把箬叶包着的粽子做成四角的形状。

这包粽子的功夫全在最后一道工序,你的粽子包得好不好,就看四个角是不是匀称,是不是有型。我开始学的时候,总是把四个角弄歪了,不是成了六个角,就是揉成一团球了。

奶奶就不止一次看着我的“杰作”发笑:“这,这能叫粽子吗?你让细线系在什么地方啊?”

我晕!感情粽子包出四个棱角是方便用细线系着挂起来的,怎么这世界上就没有圆粽子呢?

包好的粽子放进锅里用猛火煮,大约1小时后,改文火煮30分钟就可以。

在煮粽子的过程中,我总是急不可耐地要揭盖子察看情况。因为从锅里飘出那粽子的香气,馋得我直流口水。

等待的时间总是特别的漫长,看到热气腾腾的粽子终于从锅里“解放”出来的时候,我高兴得手舞足蹈。放在碗里,用筷子剥开,就可以看到里面金黄松软的“粽肉”了,咬一口,美味无比,我差点连筷子都要咬下来了。

今年端午节,我学会了包粽子,品尝到自己劳动的果实,那感觉不是一般的甜蜜
