书是全人类的营养品，读书能使人进步，所以，我非常喜欢读书。

只要一有时间，我就读书。每天晚上睡觉前，我也要捧起书津津有味地读一读。一个学期，我就能读上好几本厚厚的书。我为什么喜欢读书呢？这里面还有一个小故事呢！我刚上一年级时，妈妈就给我买了许多书让我读。可是，每当翻开那厚厚的书，两眼盯着那没有生命的方块字时，我总是大喊，没意思。为此，妈妈绞尽脑汁，想尽了一切办法，但我还是不喜欢读书。

一天，放学回到家，我看见桌上放着一本装订精致的书——《格林童话》。因为我最喜欢听童话故事了，所以我欣喜若狂，但不变的是，我仍然不想自己看。于是晚上，我照样还让妈妈念给我听。

妈妈先念了《勇敢的王子》，接着又给我念《魔鬼的三根金发》，我认真地听着，刚听到精彩的地方，妈妈却停了下来，要我自己去看。虽然我不愿看，但我又太想知道故事的结果了，于是就硬着头皮自己看了下去。看了一个故事后，觉得自己看比妈妈读更有意思一些，所以又接着看了一个又一个故事。这些故事很引人入胜，读到有趣处，我哈哈大笑；读到惊险处，我不禁为主人公捏了一把汗；读到伤心处，我为主人公的不幸而流泪；仿佛就像我自己的经历似的。从那以后，我喜欢读书了。

现在，我认为读书是我最快乐的、最有趣的事儿。前不久，我又让妈妈给我买了一套《笑猫日记》，作者杨红樱阿姨，用她那颗富有童真的心，写出了我们孩子的心声，揭示出了我们童年所缺少的最珍贵的东西。我从里面还懂得了一些做人的道理，知道了动物也有情感和自己的尊严，所以我们不能捕杀动物。

书是知识的宝库、精神的源泉；书是我最亲密的伙伴，它伴随着我成长，给予我知识。读书是我生活中不可缺少的一部分。
