In my elementary school years, I was once detained in the teacher’s office for some “serious moral misconduct”, sending my seatmate home everyday and being a very close friend.Well, you may wonder, so what?
The only problem is that she is a girl. And to make things worse, she happened to be very charming by children’s standard that my teacher reprimanded me severely for being over-enthusiastic, and maintained that I should stay away from her and concentrate on truly serious matters. With overdue respect to my teacher’s authority, I kept silent as if there were really something of an item going on between us.From then on, we were separated to sit in the diagonal corners of the classroom and were too embarrassed to speak to each other anymore. Not only did I lose one of my best friends to my silence, but also my teacher’s trust to my cowardly obedient manner. When I look back on my childhood experience, I was astonished by how the
“matured” adults misinterpreted the children’s pure friendship. As if, there’s no such thing as sincerity between the children through the eyes of grown-ups.While at the same time, I was more shocked by the children’s frightfulness in voicing the honest answers and stating the true circumstances. And the relationship between the teachers and the students become antagonized and precariously balanced.Education, we say, is about communication. It’s a two-way street. The students should learn to be brave enough to speak up, at least once in a while.I do wish I could come back to my childhood and make my voice heard, whispering to that little boy to speak up and telling the teacher that innocence really is something worth holding fast to.Imagine a world in which Martin Luther King had failed to speak out against oppressive racism. How different our world would be like today? For centuries, people and countries have been fighting to make their voices heard. And today, freedom of speech is a notion which is deeply ingrained upon people’s mind.It is so important that some nations have even enshrined it in their constitutions. But why, we might ask, do people consider the right to make their voices heard to be so important? And what is so important about speaking out anyway?
Well, it is the nature of man to enquire into things and to strive for self-improvement.Often situations arise when we are compelled to speak up for reform. However, if people are reluctant to express your opinions due to, for example, laziness, restrictions and fear, then much that needs reform will remain unchanged.Human progress depends upon the change and free flow of ideas whether in spoken or written form. But most of the time, people are reluctant to speak up.And for example, many times people just because of fear are unwilling to stand up and say the things they want. And built upon the sufferings of those who are brave enough to fight for it, freedom of speech is actually the things that we’ve always fighted.I should say that, conclude my speech by reminding all of you that, we should use our voices and to speak out with passion and conviction, for that is right and our right.Because I have to remind you that we should also use our ears to listen, with respect and understanding, for that is our duty.“Diane, can you speak a little louder, please?” That’s what my teacher said to me on the first day of school.I almost burst into tears as so many students turned to watch me sitting down in the corner that belonged to me.After school, my teacher found me, smiling, she said: “You don’t have to be afraid of anyone.People just want to know about you so the next time just let them hear what you have to say. After so many years, I am still a shy person as I was fifteen years ago but the difference is I am not any more afraid of letting people know about me, hear about my ideas.People, as we are, are never isolated individuals. We all live on the planet where lives all the other people as well.So keeping oneself excluded would never work, or else we would always be trapped in that little corner of ours.We have to step into the world as we are in fact part of it.I’ve always remembered what Simba said to her daughter: we are one.So what’s to be afraid of? Since human beings are virtually linked souls.Just tell others what we really think, how we really feel.Even if we do have the wrong idea, we will have the chance to correct our mistakes. And if we don’t, it’s all right. But if we never spoke our mind, we will never know what we are missing out in this world. We will never know what we can actually make of ourselves. And we will never know what is needed to live a life with other people. When there is giving, there is receiving. That’s how the communication circle works. We are all very blessed to have so many people hear our voice. So don’t refuse the blessing for life is based on it.Just remember when the world knows more about us, we know more about the world. So today, can you hear my voice?"
What am I doing now? I’m using speech to communicate with you.I’m making my voice heard.Yesterday I told my parents I was nervous to death to come to this competition today.I couldn’t sleep.I couldn’t eat.I constantly have headaches and diarrhea.Honestly, I haven’t been so out of place and physically sick in my entire life.Instead of saying kind words to calm me down, he said, “Do you know that
companies and industries has spent thousands of dollars just to let their advertisement show on the TV screen for less than ten seconds and you have got yourself an opportunity to make your voice heard in front of millions. How unique is this
chance?” Suddenly I realized I have to seize this precious opportunity to make myself, my voice heard.People throughout the world, people throughout history have used various ways to communicate, and more importantly to make their voices heard.William Shakespeare use his sonnets to express emotions and communicate with millions in centuries.Director Zhang Yimou use movies to express his thoughts and ideas with audiences around the world. And the representatives of the Six Party Talks use their wisdom to negotiate. They have made their voice heard.Today is my turn.I’m going to seize this opportunity and I have realized from them to myself, making your voice heard is truly a universal pursuit to all mankind.I was kicking and
screaming to have to go on this stage. Now I’m reluctant to leave this stage.Making yourself, your voice heard is truly and very important thing for every one of us.

Goodafternoon, ladies and gentlemen,My name is **,coming from school of Modern Education and Technology.I am very glad to give my speech to you standing here, the topic of my speech is “Just Do It”.“Just do it!”I think everybody is familiar to this sentense about Nike,a very famous company of shoes. In my opinion,it means that just do it if you want.Today I'm here, just want to do what I think should do,just have a try.Just do it if you want.In fact,we have many things to do in a day,in a year and in all our lives,it depends on your choices that
what you want to do first, what then and what last.So today I come here because I want to meet so many
English lovers and gain my own experience.Just do it if you like.I was attracted by English on my first sight in middle school. My English teacher had an excellent voice,it's comfortable when I heard her singing songs. As the time flew away,I knew more English songs such as
“Yesterday Once More”“My Heart Will Go On”“My Love” and so on.Nowadays,I still would like to listen to English music of pop and rock, especially Backstreet Boys' and Westernlife's songs.Just do it by yourself and by heart.“Why didn't you search the Internet for a composition as your speech paper?”One of my classmates asked me when I was preparing my speech paper by writing myself.I just told him,“I can't remember it,because my memory is terrible.”Anyone won't forget what he write and did by himself and heart.Just do it no matter whether you can be successful. When I asked others that why they didn't join in the competition, was it the reason that they didn't like
English or they had no time.To my surprise, they almost gave me the same answer,“even though I couldn't
get a rangking in it,I needn't to do that, what's more,I didn't want to lose my face because of failed.”I really
can't believe that in their dictionary there is only one word 'success'.Although it's impossible to enter the
final fighting, and maybe I will be out of the competition after this speech,I still come here, just do it,no matter how far I can walk.So as long as you want and like, just do it by heart,no matter whether you can succeed or be failed. That's all,Thank you!

As is known to us all, a famous proverb says “failure is the motherof success”.Yes , it’s true.History informs us that stories of successare also stories of great failure. As a matter of fact. There are many factors that can contribute to a preson’s success in life.Today I will give you a new idea―self-confidence is the mother of success.Success is getting up one more time than you fall down. But when failures knocks you down. Will you have the confidence to get up?So self-confidence is essential to success.Self-confidence means the firm belief that you can do things well.It is believed to be the first secret of success. If you want to succeed in doing anything, you must have confidence in your abilities.and I
deeply aware that nothing can defeat a person who full of confidence.Self-confidence gives you light when you are in dark, and gives you encouragement when you are disappointed. It is self-confidence that inspires you to cope with any hard task. With self-confidence, you believe that you can and will succeed, and this gives you the courage to try new things. Some people find most of the things impossible, saying, “It is beyond my ability to do the task.” or “I am not fit for it.” these are only lame excuses. When our heart is void of self-confidence, every hope is gone, we will always living in the moments of fear and thoughtless. So ladies and gentlemen do you have it in you? If you think you don’t, boost up youself as your mind is your greatest mentor. If you have a goal to pass CET 4 and CET 6 college English exam easily with high marks, just believe in yourself.Yes you can
If you want to be a great man in the future and never let your parent down.Just believe in yourself.Yes you can
If you have a dream that conqur English to make China stronger.Just believe in youself.Yes you can.Thank you so much for your listening.

CCTV杯演讲比赛英语演讲稿 Lecture Scripts Global Citizenship Begins at Home When I saw this title , I felt a little nervous, if I could expound this topic for you clearly, maybe my wisdom was enough to help me write a masterpiece in every field.Unfortunately , I cannot. And fortunately, in less than 3 minutes will you know my ideas.I think the most unbelievable news in the last century is we are genetically 99.9% the same.Do you feel a little excited, now? I did, when I first time heard it from the radio. And suddenly realized that we are born to be the same. This eye-catching news approved what we called “global village”, and then told us we are born with a “global citizenship” just like with the character. However, same to the character, global citizenship is not only accepted by oneself ,but also by others. As traditional Chinese saying goes, “thousands of miles should begin at first step”.Only if we have a good beginning at home — step first we firmly stepped, it would be easy for other global citizens to admit us.But you may feel a little bored to listen to my lecture and ask “what do you really want us to know?”
So let’s pay attention to our motherland.China has set us good examples to favor the title “global citizenship begins at home”.More than a hundred years ago, when the old Chinese government limited economic growth and lock his doors against the world. He missed the best opportunity to develop himself. He abandoned home, but was eager for an absolute global citizenship. He wanted to ignore the first step but jump far.Let alone other countries with an ulterior motive, I cannot agree. But now everything is changing.China is enjoying his broaden global citizenship in global affairs.Only when he is getting stronger himself, the global citizenship is truly owned by himself.Honor judges and dear friends, remember “global citizenship begins at home”, our dream should be that we keep on going to conform the changing world and keep our global citizenship worthy. As long as our dream outweighs our ability, the world, our country and ourselves will be forever young. That’s is our destiny. And this is our moment.Thank you for listening.Good night.演讲大赛英文演讲稿
good afternoon,Ladies and gentlemen. The title of my speech is “ The development of traditional culture ” : The 21st century has started a new history.Great changes have taken place in the world because of the prosperous development of technology and science. Some of you might have noticed that more and more people around us have started to learn a second language besides English. But maybe you will ask me “Isn’t it a good thing ?” No , absolutely not.It certainly meets the objective request of the economic globalization. While we accept western culture, some of us lost themselves in the ‘cultural sea’.Chances are that we are likely to lose our own traditional cultures. So ,the cultural globalization which is caused by economic globalization may be harmful to our country’s scientific development. As is well known to all , culture is the pillar of science. But there exist two phenomenon in the process of globation. One is some people called ‘Mr West ’。They accept western culture without any judgement , and they don’t care whether it is good or not.For instance ,maybe someone has found that western festivals are more and more popular such as Christmas and Valentine’s day.At the same time ,Chinese traditional festivals are fading away in our memories.we can’t image how a country could develop with its own culture lost.Well , another is called ‘ Mr Old ’ , in the contrary , they refuse to accept any other cultures , they blame that cultural globalization is a disaster. To our surprise , they absolutely don’t know that exchanging culture communication can advance the development of science and technology.Absolutely affirm or deny a culture for our development isn’t a wise choice it isn’t a wise choice to completely accept or deny a culture..I’m glad to hear that our party implemented a policy which is called sustainable development and tries their best to inherit and enhance our traditional culture.Under the precondition , our culture could promote. In this case, Chinese citizen may manager to survive. What’s more , we feel delighted to see that more and more 孔子学院have been built up)world-wide , aiming(AIMED)at carry on preserving and developing our traditional culture.I believe , under the guidance of the ‘Scientific concept of development ’ , Chinese technology , culture or even economic economy will reach to a new summit(REACH AN ALL-TIME HIGH).LET MY SPEECH BE AN OVERTURE TO THE GRAND SYMPHONY OF MAN AND ANTURE Good afternoon, Ladies and Gentlemen: When the topic “people and nature” first caught my eye, I was reminded of a story about myself and my violin.I began learning to play the violin when I was eight years old.At first, it was a very hard thing for me.After my continued efforts, I was able to play a lot of musical pieces very soon.I felt so proud of myself that I began to behave arrogantly. My violin teacher noticed this and told me: “To be a good violin player, you should first of all love and respect your violin. You should obey the rules of playing it so as to make harmonious melodies.Remember, play the violin not only with your hands, but also with your heart and soul.” Ladies and gentlemen, I believe that nature is to people what my violin is to me.Isn’t it true that people deal with nature just as I play the violin? Isn’t it true that we have been so arrogant that we take liberties with nature, which brings about the discord between nature and ourselves? Since my violin and I have finally reached harmony, why can’t people and nature head toward the same direction? Ladies and gentlemen, we cannot wait.Nor can we afford to wait until the day when we find no city, no Hilton hotel, no lecture hall to hold any speech contests in.Let us love and respect nature, nature that is the violin people have played for thousands of years.Let us treasure it, and play it with our heart and soul.Let us observe its rules while developing our industry, modernizing our traffic system, and improving our living conditions, so that one day, people and nature will together produce the most beautiful and peaceful music. On that day, I am sure to be there with my violin, to join the world orchestra, in playing the ode to harmony, the eternal harmony between people and nature.Let my speech today be an overture to that grand symphony.Thank you.就业时选择高薪还是好的职位 Do You Prefer High Salary or A Promising Job?(观点题材)When it comes to the choice of career, some people prefer the job with high salary. Why? Their reasons run as following: to begin with, high salary can bring them happy life;in addition, with high salary, they can do whatever they want. But some others prefer to choose a job with promising future. They base their choice on the following reasons: on one hand, a promising job itself means a raise and promotion in the future;on another hand, job with a bright future will bring them honor and sense of pride. As for me, if I’m left to make the choice, I’ll not hesitate to choose a promising job.First of all, I appreciate the honor and challenge it brings to me.At the same time, if I work hard, it will offer me a lot of opportunities including high salary, good position, etc.第十届“21世纪杯”全国英语演讲比赛冠军演讲稿
Building Bridges for the Future
I’m studying in a city that’s famous for its walls.People who visit my city are amazed at the imposing sight of its walls, especially when silhouetted against the setting sun with gold, shining streaks. The old, cracked bricks are covered with lichens and the walls are weather-beaten guards standing still for centuries. Our ancestors liked to build walls. They built walls in Beijing, Xi’an, Nanjing and many other cities, and they built the Great Wall, which snakes across half our country. They built walls to protect against enemies and evil spirits. This tradition has survived to this day: we still have many parks and schools walled off from the public. For a long time, walls were one of the most natural things in the world to me.My perceptions, however, changed after I made a hiking trip to the eastern suburbs of my city.My ClASsmates and I were walking with some foreign students. As we walked out of the city, we found ourselves flanked by tall trees, which formed a wide canopy above our heads.Suddenly one foreign student asked me, “Where is the entrance to the eastern suburbs?”
“We’re already in the eastern suburbs,” I replied. He seemed taken aback, “I thought you Chinese had walls for everything.” His remark set off a heated debate. At one point, he likened our walled cities to “jails”, while I insisted that the eastern suburbs were one of the many places in China that had no walls. That debate had no winners, but I did learn a lot from this student. For instance, he told me that some major universities like Oxford and Cambridge were not surrounded by walls.I have to admit that we do have many walls in China, and as we develop our country, we must look carefully at them and decide whether they are physical or intangible. We will keep some walls but tear down those that impede our development.Let me give another example.A year ago, when I was working on a term paper, I needed a book on business law and found a copy in the law school library. However, the librarian coldly rejected my request to borrow it, saying, “You can’t borrow this book, you’re not a student here.” In the end, I had to spend 200 yuan to buy a copy.Meanwhile, the copy in the law school gathered dust on the shelf. At the beginning of this semester, I heard that my university had started to think of unifying its libraries and linking them to libraries at other universities, so my experience wouldn’t be repeated.Barriers would be replaced by bridges. An inter-library loan system would give us access to books from any library. With globalization and China integrated into the world, I believe many of these intangible walls will be knocked down.If There Were No After Life
Whether there’s afterlife, the answer has never been the same. The atheists deny after life, believing that our life is no more than from the cradle to the grave. They may care about their illustrious names after death;they may feel attached to the affection of their offspring, but they never lay their hopes on their afterlife. They may also say that good will be rewarded with good, and evil with evil, but they don’t really believe any retribution in their after life. However, in the religious world or among the superstitious people, the belief in afterlife is very popular. They do not only believe in afterlife, but thousands of reincarnations as well.In the mysterious world, there are the paradise and the hell, the celestial beings and the gods, the Buddha and the Bodhisattvas.Maybe they really believed it, or maybe they just wanted to make use of people’s veneration, the ancient emperors always declared that they were the real dragons, the sons of God, while the royal ministers claimed to be the reincarnations of various constellations. But can the stars reincarnate? Many people burn incense and kowtow, do good deeds and strive for virtues, not just for the present, but mainly to let God see their sincerity so as to be reborn into a better afterlife, or to achieve the highest enlightenment after several lives of practice. They do believe in afterlife. But I can’t help asking: Suppose there were no afterlife, would you still do good deeds and strive for virtues? And If God does not see what you are doing, would you still be so upright and selfless? If you work, not for serving the public and liberating the others, but just for a better afterlife of your own, isn’t it a little too selfish? Comparing with this kind of believers, those who don’t believe in afterlife, but still keep doing good deeds, are the most sincere and honest philanthropists, because they do them not for themselves but for other. You may wonder if I believe in afterlife. My answer is: I know nothing about my previous life, so I dare not make improper comments on afterlife. But I do hope there’s afterlife!Because our present life is so short that so many things slip away before our proper understanding.I have so many dreams, so many wishes, so many ambitions, as well as so many regrets and concerns. If there were no afterlife, all of them will remain unrealized!I’m not contented with the present commonplace life, I’m very much attached to the affections that should have been mine but have been washed away by the hurrying time, and I yearn for the perfection and maturity if I could start all over again. So believe it or not, I’d rather there were afterlife. My dream Dreams are the wind for our sails on the ocean.Dreams kindle a flame to illuminate our dark roads.Dreams are the armor for our fragile hearts.Martin Luther King had a dream — it was to have justice for all people.Lincoln had a dream — it was to set the slaves free. They sought their dreams and ultimately made them come true. When I was young, I saw a dog one day.I threw a stone at it just for fun. Then it fell down and looked very weak.At that moment, I was surprised to notice it was pregnant.I can’t remember what happened next, but there’s one thing I know: that I felt guilty. It was the first time that I found life could so easily pass away.At that time, I had a dream, which was to help those people who needed help. There are too many wars and disasters.About 16,000 people have died in the Iraq War and one child dies every eight seconds in Africa because of starvation.I have dreams, you have dreams and they have dreams too.We should help them.We should save their lives so that they can pursue their own dreams.Just like the lyric of a song says, “We are the ones who make a brighter day so let’s start giving.” Well, that’s my dream, a simple but meaningful one.Predestination
翻译:北京外国语大学北戴河外语培训基地副校长 张宝丹 Many things in this world find neither an answer nor a proper explanation. For example, why should two become a couple among the billions of people on earth? Why don't they love each other even though they live together everyday, and yet one of them falls in love with someone else at the first sight? Why do the members of a family quarrel daily but still stay unhappily together? Why can't they get married in spite of the fact that they are a perfect match to each other? Why should one toil so much for the other? Why should the love-infatuated always be deserted by the heartless?.....People remain puzzled in spite of their great effort to understand the endless questions, so they invented the all-embracing word---“predestination”.In order to be more precise, different combinations were derived from it: love predestination, sinful predestination, evil predestination, and kind predestination etc., hence we have the sayings like: “Predestination will definitely bring you together despite the great distance while without predestination, you'll never know each other even though you are standing fact to face” “A distant couple is tied up with the thread of predestination” and even the phrases and expressions like “the god of marriage”, “predestination without luck”, “luck without predestination”, “Coming across each other is a kind of predestination”, “Enemies are bound to meet on a narrow road”, “They shall not marry each other unless they are predestined lovers”.If people still can not find answers, they turn to “reincarnation” for help.Lin Daiyu is always in tears just for repaying for the water Jia Baoyu had given her when she was a plant in her previous life in A Dream of the Red Mansions. In fact, the so-called “predestination” is often a kind of coincidence or chance encounter, even a kind of accident. If you don't meet this person, you'll surely meet some one else. But people insist on adding some colors of emotions or superstition, thus generating various religious factions, the main theories of which are no more than that of “reincarnation”, “heaven and hell” and “the ever-lasting soul” etc.But does anyone know anything about his previous life or his after life? What could he do even if he knew them? If he can't grasp the present life, what's the benefit of commenting on the visionary after life? Giving up today is the same as giving up tomorrow, for they are closely connected. How absurd it is to work like the horse or cattle in the present life in order to be above others in the next life.Which is the real key to success:ability or opportunity? Do you want to be success? Of course, the answer is yes.I have been in University for about one year.During my stay here, I came to realize that university life is like drinking coke.We experience all tastes of life here, sour, sweet, bitter and hot.I am from Province, which is far away from here.I often miss my Mum, friends, and relatives in my hometown. However, I can't see them very often. So loneliness always keeps me company.I am sad that I can't be there with them.Lucky for me, life in university is rich and colorful. With more free time,we can do many more things besides study, such as joining societies clubs, and taking part-time jobs.Such activities not only make our life more colorful, but also help us improve all kinds of skills. The university is a society miniature, what we learn here will benefit our future life. Our path in life will not always be smooth.Setbacks can't be avoided.Failing an important exam, break up with boy or girl friend, or refused by a promising company, such setbacks are likely to get us down.Sometimes we fell so frustrated that we even burst into tears.Drinkin coke is wonderful, despite the undesirble consequent hiccups. It's bitter, sour and peppery, but also sweet. And you'll even feel excited after gulping down a glass.A college experience is part of growing up.We cry, smile, fall in love, get hurt, leave, learn and then we become a better person.University life is like drinking coke.I'm experiencing it.And I know, I enjoy it!

Lecture Scripts Global Citizenship Begins at Home When I saw this title , I felt a little nervous, if I could expound this topic for you clearly, maybe my wisdom was enough to help me write a masterpiece in every field.Unfortunately , I cannot.
The title of my speech is “ The development of traditional culture ” :
The 21st century has started a new history.Great changes have taken place in the world because of the prosperous development of technology and science. Some of you might have noticed that more and more people around us have started to learn a second language besides English. But maybe you will ask me “Isn‟t it a good thing ?” No , absolutely not.It certainly meets the objective request of the economic globalization. While we accept western culture, some of us lost themselves in the „cultural sea‟.Chances are that we are likely to lose our own traditional cultures. So ,the cultural globalization which is caused by economic globalization may be harmful to our country‟s scientific development. As is well known to all , culture is the pillar of science. But there exist two phenomenon in the process of globation. One is some people called „Mr West ‟。They accept western culture without any judgement , and they don‟t care whether it is good or not.For instance ,maybe someone has found that western festivals are more and more popular such as Christmas and Valentine’s day.At the same time ,Chinese traditional festivals are fading away in our memories.we can‟t image how a country could develop with its own culture lost.Well , another is called „ Mr Old ‟ , in the contrary , they refuse to accept any other cultures , they blame that cultural globalization is a disaster. To our surprise , they absolutely don‟t know that exchanging culture communication can advance the development of science and technology.Absolutely affirm or deny a culture for our development isn‟t a wise choice it isn’t a wise choice to completely accept or deny a culture..I‟m glad to hear that our party implemented a policy which is called sustainable development and tries their best to inherit and enhance our traditional culture.Under the precondition , our culture could promote. On that day, I am sure to be there with my violin, to join the world orchestra, in playing the ode to harmony, the eternal harmony between people and nature.Let my speech today be an overture to that grand symphony.Thank you.就业时选择高薪还是好的职位
Do You Prefer High Salary or A Promising Job?(观点题材)When it comes to the choice of career, some people prefer the job with high salary. As for me, if I’m left to make the choice, I’ll not hesitate to choose a promising job.First of all, I appreciate the honor and challenge it brings to me.At the same time, if I work hard, it will offer me a lot of opportunities including high salary, good position, etc.第十届‚21世纪杯‛全国英语演讲比赛冠军演讲稿
Building Bridges for the Future
I‟m studying in a city that‟s famous for its walls.People who visit my city are amazed at the imposing sight of its walls, especially when silhouetted against the setting sun with gold, shining streaks. The old, cracked bricks are covered with lichens and the walls are weather-beaten guards standing still for centuries. Our ancestors liked to build walls. They built walls in Beijing, Xi‟an, Nanjing and many other cities, and they built the Great Wall, which snakes across half our country.
“We‟re already in the eastern suburbs,” I replied. However, the librarian coldly rejected my request to borrow it, saying, “You can‟t borrow this book, you‟re not a student here.” In the end, I had to spend 200 yuan to buy a copy.Meanwhile, the copy in the law school gathered dust on the shelf. At the beginning of this semester, I heard that my university had started to think of unifying its libraries and linking them to libraries at other universities, so my experience wouldn‟t be repeated.Barriers would be replaced by bridges. An inter-library loan system would give us access to books from any library. With globalization and China integrated into the world, I believe many of these intangible walls will be knocked down.If There Were No After Life
Whether there‟s afterlife, the answer has never been the same. The atheists deny after life, believing that our life is no more than from the cradle to the grave. They may care about their illustrious names after death;they may feel attached to the affection of their offspring, but they never lay their hopes on their afterlife. They may also say that good will be rewarded with good, and evil with evil, but they don‟t really believe any retribution in their after life. However, in the religious world or among the superstitious people, the belief in afterlife is very popular. They do not only believe in afterlife, but thousands of reincarnations as well.In the mysterious world, there are the paradise and the hell, the celestial beings and the gods, the Buddha and the Bodhisattvas.Maybe they really believed it, or maybe they just wanted to make use of people‟s veneration, the ancient emperors always declared that they were the real dragons, the sons of God, while the royal ministers claimed to be the reincarnations of various constellations. But I can‟t help asking: Suppose there were no afterlife, would you still do good deeds and strive for virtues? And If God does not see what you are doing, would you still be so upright and selfless? If you work, not for serving the public and liberating the others, but just for a better afterlife of your own, isn‟t it a little too selfish? Comparing with this kind of believers, those who don‟t believe in afterlife, but still keep doing good deeds, are the most sincere and honest philanthropists, because they do them not for themselves but for other. You may wonder if I believe in afterlife. My answer is: I know nothing about my previous life, so I dare not make improper comments on afterlife. But I do hope there‟s afterlife!Because our present life is so short that so many things slip away before our proper understanding.I have so many dreams, so many wishes, so many ambitions, as well as so many regrets and concerns. If there were no afterlife, all of them will remain unrealized!I‟m not contented with the present commonplace life, I‟m very much attached to the affections that should have been mine but have been washed away by the hurrying time, and I yearn for the perfection and maturity if I could start all over again. So believe it or not, I‟d rather there were afterlife. Then it fell down and looked very weak.At that moment, I was surprised to notice it was pregnant.I can‟t remember what happened next, but there‟s one thing I know: that I felt guilty. It was the first time that I found life could so easily pass away.At that time, I had a dream, which was to help those people who needed help. There are too many wars and disasters.About 16,000 people have died in the Iraq War and one child dies every eight seconds in Africa because of starvation.I have dreams, you have dreams and they have dreams too.We should help them.We should save their lives so that they can pursue their own dreams.Just like the lyric of a song says, “We are the ones who make a brighter day so let‟s start giving.” Well, that‟s my dream, a simple but meaningful one.Predestination

Many things in this world find neither an answer nor a proper explanation. Of course, the answer is yes.
