圣诞节食物故事
每一个节日都有其专门的食物供食用,像中国的春节,大家都会吃饺子,那么西方的圣诞节,人们会吃什么呢?在西方国家,圣诞节是一个很重要的节日,对食物的选择也是很有讲究。
澳大利亚
在澳大利亚的每家饭店酒店都为圣诞节准备了丰盛的食物,有火鸡、腊鸡、猪腿、美酒、点心等,人们在傍晚时分或一家老小或携亲伴友,成群结队地到餐馆去吃圣诞大餐。
法国
树干似的蛋糕Buchedenoel,便是着名的法国圣诞美食。还未发明电力以前,法国人以一棵好柴作为圣诞礼物。法国人天性浪漫,连美食的起缘也浪漫过人:从前有一个买不起圣诞礼物的年青人,在森林捡了一段木头送给情人,不但赢得芳心,而且从此平步青云。因此,树干蛋糕也成为祝愿来年好运的象征。
意大利
在意大利虽然平时已吃好喝好,但过圣诞节时,那才真叫大吃大喝,山珍海味,美馔佳肴,玉盘奇馐,应有尽有,是饕餐之徒大显身手的时候。
德国
德国人也相当重视圣诞,人们会在圣诞当晚赶回家里用膳,情况好比中国人吃团年饭。德国最着名的圣诞食品是姜饼Lebkuchen。这是是一种介乎于蛋糕与饼干之间的小点。传统的姜饼,以蜂蜜、胡椒粒为材料,又甜又辣,口感刺激。现在的姜饼都经过改良,外面洒上一层糖霜,不但口感丰富,外型也相当讨好。
英国
英国的圣诞大餐极其丰富,包括烧猪、火鸡、圣诞布丁、干果馅饼等。据说吃圣诞火鸡这个习俗,已有300多年历史。一般英国家庭都喜爱自行烹调火鸡,将大量的蔬果如甘笋、西芹、洋葱、栗子等,塞进十来磅的火鸡肚子里,再在表层抹上多种香料,然后才放入焗炉烤。
还有传统的圣诞布丁,圣诞布丁非常甜,吃一小角已心满意足了!圣诞布丁在烹调时,全家人都会参与,象征团聚、和谐,并会在搅拌面团时许愿,据说需以顺时针方向搅,转错方向便不吉利。最后藏入一枚硬币,谁吃到便获得一年好运!
圣诞节传统习俗
西方人以红、绿、白三色为圣诞色,圣诞节来临时家家户户都要用圣诞色来装饰。红色的有圣诞花和圣诞蜡烛。绿色的是圣诞树。它是圣诞节的主要装饰品,用砍伐来的杉、柏一类呈塔形的常青树装饰而成。上面悬挂着五颜六色的彩灯、礼物和纸花,还点燃着圣诞蜡烛。
红色与白色相映成趣的是圣诞老人,他是圣诞节活动中最受欢迎的人物。西方儿童在圣诞夜临睡之前,要在壁炉前或枕头旁放上一只袜子,等候圣诞老人在他们入睡后把礼物放在袜子内。在西方,扮演圣诞老人也是一种习俗。
圣诞习俗数量众多,包括世俗,宗教,国家,圣诞相关,国与国之间差别很大。大部分人熟悉的圣诞符号及活动,如圣诞树,圣诞火腿,圣诞柴,冬青,槲寄生以及互赠礼物,都是基督教传教士从早期Asatru异教的冬至假日Yule里吸收而来。对冬至的庆祝早在基督教到达北欧之前就在那里广为进行了,今天圣诞节一词在斯堪的纳维亚语里依然是异教的jul(或yule)。圣诞树被认为最早出现在德国。
自从圣诞庆祝习俗在北欧流行后,结合着北半球冬季的圣诞装饰和圣诞老人神话也就出现了。
