浅论中学英语作文教学
作文教学是初中英语教学的重要组成部分,是考查学生语言综合运用能力的重要手段。它是学生应该掌握的一项基本技能,但是同时对学生的要求也比较高,要具有扎实的语言基本功、审题能力、想象能力、表达能力和评价能力,等等。一些学生一提起来作文教学就头疼。如何搞好中学英语作文教学呢?
一、中学英语写作教学存在的问题
英语写作虽然非常重要,但是其也是初中生学习的一大难点,也是中考逐年增加分值的重要题型。由于种种原因,学生的作文中却存在很多问题,具体表现如下:
(一)英语基础知识比较薄弱,写作中错误很多
语音、词汇、语法是构成语言的三个基本要素。要想学好英语,就必须要掌握好这三方面的知识,否则就会出现很多错误。
1.词汇量匮乏,错词、造词情况比较多。词汇是英语写作必不可少的基本要素,也是提高作文水平的必要前提。如果学生没有掌握足够的词汇量,那么,就不能拼写单词,表达不准确,甚至自己“造词”,这些情况比比皆是,显而易见,词汇量不足以成为中学生英语写作中最主要的问题。
2.语法混乱,表达不准确。语法规则和句型句式是英语写作涉及的另一基本要素。学生的英语语法掌握不好,则表达不准确,在写作时出现了很多语法问题,如语法不规范、句子结构混乱、含义不清楚等,更有很多的Chinese English现象,即学生的思维和表达习惯受汉语的影响,经常不自觉地就按照汉语的表达习惯去写英语句子,形成所谓的中式英语。这种不具备英语思维导致的语法错误是中学生英语写作中所面临的又一个主要问题。
3.经常出现一些常识性错误。学生由于疏忽或者只是掌握不牢固,经常会出现一些常识性的错误,比如格式错误、字母的大小写及标点符号错误、遗漏标题或标题写错位,书写潦草,卷面非常糟糕,等等。这些错误虽然不是致命性的错误,但是都会影响成绩,会给与不同程度的扣分,这也是需要同学们要注意的地方。
(二)应试教育影响重,思维固定、僵化
传统的应试教学中,教师只注重写作技巧的传授,而忽视写作素质的全面提升,所以,教师的思维比较固定、僵化,一般都会给学生讲解写作如何才能拿高分,但是对学生真实写作能力的提升却不甚关注。这种影响虽然有所减弱,但是教师在不自觉当中仍然会有所表现。新课程改革以来,中考英语试卷的命题日益科学化,对学生英语水平能力的测试更加客观、有效。但是,同时我们应该看到,中考由于受到种种原因的限制,试卷对学生写作能力水平的考核,写作量偏少,写作要求也偏低。由于应试教师的影响以及中考的影响,学生的写作训练过于单
一、简单,没有向作的句、段、篇发展,教师对学生的要求也不高,长此以往,是不利于学生的写作水平提高的。
(三)审题失误,离题万里
跑题是写作中的大忌,却也是很多学生容易犯的错误。他们在写作前没有认真读题,审题,根本不加考虑,也没有计划,就动笔开写,写得不好、不对,就删了重写。出现了什么问题呢?写出的作文文不对题,不是问题与要求不合,就是内容与要求不合,忽略细节要求。而且全文的逻辑性非常差,东一榔头西一棒子,毫无系统性可言。卷面非常不整洁,影响了阅卷老师的第一印象,从而得不偿失。
二、搞好中学英语写作教学的途径和方法
(一)学好字、词、语法,奠定坚实的英语知识基础
1.积累词汇,把好词汇关。词汇是英语学习的基础,不论是英语写作,还是口语表达,都离不开丰富的词汇基础。所以,教师要引导学生积累词汇,把好词汇关,具体做法如下:
第一,灵活背记单词,巩固词汇基础。学习新单词时,最好要在一定的语境中联系上下文进行学习,学习单词不是只学习单词的拼写、意思,还要学习单词的不同词性、常用意义、用法以及与该词相关的同义、近义、反义词,最大限度地扩充单词的范围,提高学生的基础。要求学生不断地循环记忆,滚雪球式听写,以便强化巩固词汇、熟练掌握,达到良好的学习效果。
第二,创意造句,提高单词的运用能力。每学完一个单词,教师可以要求学生“用今天所学单词”造句,对造句的形式不做过多的要求,目的就是为了强化学生记忆单词,让学生熟练理解单词的意义,掌握单词的运用能力。而且这样的方式,也可以激发学生的学习兴趣,使学生发挥自己的个性,写出更有新意的句子来。
2.加强句式训练,提高英语能力。教师要指导学生掌握一定的语法知识,加强句式训练,奠定坚实的英语知识基础,提高英语能力。
首先,运用单词进行扩句练习。教师可以给学生指定的3个单词,让他们用这三个单词造句,先造出句子的主干部分,然后再加以修饰,形成一个比较丰富的句子。
其次,进行句子接龙练习。这是一种比较有趣的练习方式,就是让学生一个接着一个进行造句,依次往上接一个单词。这样的形式能够吸引学生的注意力,使学生乐于学习,并在成功后体验到学习的乐趣。
再次,翻译句子。这是一种让学生体验中西方语言差异性的好方法。学生的母语痕迹太重,不管是思维、还是用词、结构等方面都烙上了汉语的痕迹,成为Chinese English,比如比较典型的笑话“Good good study , day day up”等,所以,通过翻译句子,让学生比较两种语言结构,对英语的语序、词性、用法产生更加深刻的理解。
(二)抓住英语写作的小技巧,能取得事半功倍的效果
英语写作中有很多的小技巧,可以帮助学生写出比较好的英语作文来,从而取得事半功倍的效果。
1.巧妙使用连词、从句。所谓连词就是连接上下文的词语,它是让文章更加连贯的重要原因。在文章中常用连词有:if,for,so,as,because,since,until,though等等,如果在文章中使用连词,不仅可以使文章更有整体感,而且提高了文章的文采。当然,还有从句的使用也是英语写作的一大有益因素。从句主要包括主语从句,宾语从句,状语从句,定语从句,如It is well known that...,“众所周知的是......”; It turned out that...,“事实证明......”; It is the time that...,“是......的时候了”,等等。
2.注意开头、结尾的精彩。在考试时,阅卷老师可能没有时间看得那么仔细,如果学生的作文有一个精彩的开头、结尾,能让文章锦上添花,吸引教师的注意力,给教师留下一个很好的印象分。所以,在开头结尾处,学生要特别留意,多用些精彩的句子、名言警句等等,让文章显得更加完美、更加优秀。
3.注意格式,书写要工整。学生在写作文之前,一定要认真审题,审清题意,看看是什么文体,应该用什么样的格式,然后在草纸上写好大纲,最好将重要的句子也写好。这样学生的作文肯定格式正确,与题意相符合,不会离题万里了。而且学生一定要注意:书写要工整、卷面要整洁,不要随意涂画。就算字写得不漂亮,但是只要写得工整不潦草,也能给教师留下一个好印象。

背单词的学习技巧:
1、零散时间多遍记忆法:
根据心理学研究表明,人的瞬间记忆能力最强,随着时间的推移而记忆递减,五遍左右方可记忆某一事物或人而短期不忘。我记单词的方法是:在第一天的晚上划出 200个单词准备次日记忆。早起用最多半小时将200个单词看一遍,边看长相、音标、词性和词意边读出,既练发音,又练听力,还练了记忆,一举三得。利用课余时间、等车时间、坐车时间、排队时间等一切零散时间随时进行复习,每三个小时看一遍,一天除去睡眠8小时之外至少看四、五遍。不论是否记牢固继续以每天200个单词累计五天,每星期六复习过去一个星期的单词量。如此坚持六个月,单词总记忆量会达到24000个,去掉忘记50%的单词的可能,还余 12000个。这个单词量几乎足够人生十年应用英语了!自学小贴士:记单词最不实际的方法是用两个小时当场记牢十个单词,一天记十个,第二天忘记七八个。最简单而实用的单词记忆方法就是对一个单词不必当场记下而是循序渐进反复多遍,久而久之而积累多多,最重要的是长时间而记忆犹新!不信你可以试试。
2、词根词缀记忆法:
至少50%的单词都会存在词根、前缀和后缀。如果找到这些单词的组成规律则可以非常有效地记忆原本繁琐复杂的各种词汇。
词根词缀记忆法总口诀:前缀改变词义,后缀改变词性。
陈旧的英语学习方法是重视英语语法,应付考试,在大学英语四六级等考试中取得高分,不可否认重视英语语法可以让初学者打好英语的基础,但事实上,很多取得了四六级证书的大学生依然无法开口说英语,很多人把这种现象戏称为--“哑巴英语”。我不太同意这种说法,我认为造成哑巴英语的根本原因是我们的教育体制出了问题,那就是在语言初期学习阶段我们忽略了英语听说训练而已。在尝过了英文电影学习的甜头之后,我又开始了从听力突破口语语音方法的创新。后来的学习证明这个方法也是很有个性化和实践提高的。
练习听力的技巧:
1、一定要选取一套比自己的实际水平略高些的听力教材进行强化训练。
对于英语初学者来说,选取合适的学习教材极其重要,这套教材可以是一个系列或上下两册,但难易程度必须和学习者相结合。如果难度太大,则会打击英语初学者特别是自学者的学习信心,如果过于简单则容易给英语初学者造成错觉,以为自己短期的学习取得了极大的成绩。我曾经自学很多英语听力教材,比如,Step by step, College English, Listen to this, Crazy English等等,经过长时间的比较,我发现Listen to this(又名英语初级、中级、高级听力)这套教材深入浅出、从简到难、循序渐进,最适合于英语自学者进行强化训练。
自学小贴士:建议自学者从英语初级听力开始,必须买学生用书(练习)和教师用书(答案),初级部分含九盒磁带。
2、固定每天不少于1个小时,精听加泛听。
古人云:“只要功夫深,铁杵磨成针。”讲的就是让我们无论是在做事还是学习的时候都得把功夫做到位,否则一事无成。对于英语初学者来说,最简单的是一切可以从头再来,但最难的莫过于坚持二字。所谓精听就是根据学习的进度每天固定听一个小单元,尽最大努力把句子和文章的意思都听懂。泛听是指随时随地用外放的录音机听一些英文歌曲、英文电影对白或英语新闻等,实际上是给初学者自己制造一定的英语学习环境。
自学小贴士:记住一个原则,我们的听力不好最主要的原因是我们以前练的听力太少,不然就是我们自己的耳朵存在听力障碍!
3、手拿铅笔作记号并提前预读猜测。
在听力练习的最初阶段最好养成手拿一枝铅笔对听力内容进行短暂时间的预读的良好习惯。在英语考试中,考试者都会提前拿到考卷,考官一般建议考试者写下考试姓名、准考号码等,不许答题,但可以预览考卷。对于英语初学者来说,如果利用这一短暂时间对听力内容进行预读则可以获得很多的考试信息。对于填空题,可以通篇读完,获得概意,对部分填空进行猜测;对于选择题,读选择项有助于提高正确率;对于问答题,则直接看提问部分,在听力过程中尤其注意精听提问部分即可。
自学小贴士:手拿铅笔可以在预读中对重点单词、句子轻轻划出相应记号以配合听力。但在考试结束前尽量擦掉,保持卷面整洁,否则可能会扣分的。
4、对于极其优美的篇章进行听写训练。
听写一直是我极力推荐的学习方法。表面上看每一个学习者在精听一段听力材料后似乎都听懂了全部意思,但不尽其然,对于一些优美的篇章进行更深入的学习是有必要的。听写则是最急需最有效的方法。
自学小贴士:尽量用外放的录音机进行听力训练,在做听写训练时,可通过按暂停键自我控制时间。如此反复之后,你会发现两个结果:
一、听写的错误很多;
二、听写后对于听写的内容印象极其深刻,甚至难以忘掉!Speaking: 我们在日常交流中的真正法宝
有很多的英语爱好者经常会在学习若干年英语过后会陷入一个怪圈,那就是无法用英语和美国人进行日常交流。自己既很难用英语把想说的内容表达出来,而且最要命的是几乎听不懂美国人说的流利英语,就算是美国人说的再慢,在我们几个“pardon”之下他又重复无数遍,我们依然听不懂。为什么我们会掉入进退两难的境界?原因只是两个:
一、我们没有学习过真正美国人说的真正日常应用口语;
二、我们缺少专门的演讲训练。如果你想开口说流利英语必须首先打破中国文化和西方文化中传统障碍!美国人强调从小就应该学会在大众面前表达自己,用语言去说服别人;中国从古到今讲究为人要谦虚,出言慎重,沉默是金,多听少说,言多必失。如果你也想说一口流利的英语,你已经知道应该从何处入手了。那就是要抛弃以前中国人那种处处要求严谨的表达理念而从这一刻开始大胆地虚心地向美国人学习真正的人话!
练习口语的技巧:
1、多开口说英语,少沉默不语;
2、多模仿经典对白,少一点思考语法;
3、多用心用笔记下好句子,少一些无谓的篡改写作;
4、多与高手或外国人交流,少去口语角重复了千百遍的话。
Reading: 提高英语词汇和写作双刃剑
古人广为流传:“书中自有黄金屋,书中自有颜如玉。”“两耳不闻窗外事,一心只读圣贤书。”中华五千年灿烂文化造就了无数文人墨客,他们无不从读书中汲取了成就功名或事业的思想源泉。我自幼喜欢读书,自信“读什么书可以成为什么样的人”。
读英语书的技巧:
1、有所选择地去读好书,不读炒作书或所谓的畅销书;
理由:回顾过去,你会发现一些所谓的畅销书已经在今天销声匿迹了。
2、多读中英文对照的中外名著,有助于突破文化理念;
理由:读纯英文版本的书可能会让你不知所云,因为你就不是美国人。
3、精读和研究优秀的外国演讲名家或总统竞选的文章;
理由:读书的目的在于吸取人物事件背后的思想精华,引起你的思考。
4、读好书后及时写出一篇随意思考的读后感修改保存;
理由:创作的灵感只会留在一瞬间,稍纵即逝,写作可以让你更聪明。
