大连海事大学校训：学汇百川 德济四海。
“学汇百川”出自东汉王充《论衡·别通篇》：“人含（胸中容纳）百家之言，犹海怀百川之流也。”王充反对读书人株守一经，提倡博学广览，做兼通诸子百家之言的“通人”，他说：“通人胸中怀百家之言”，“大人之胸怀非一，才高知（智）大，故其于道术无所不包”。
“学汇百川”作为校训有两层意思：一是指海大人具有大海般的胸襟，虚怀若谷，广收博取，善于汲取人类文化的一切优秀成果；二是指海大在治学上倡导百花齐放，百家争鸣，容纳各种学术思想，汇聚八方人才。
“德济四海”系化用《周易·系辞上》“知（智）周乎万物而道济天下”中的“道济天下”。“济”有救助、造福、成就之义，这里是造福、服务的意思。
