《 旅游酒店英语 》教学大纲

一、课程的性质、地位和作用:
《旅游酒店英语》是针对人文系英语教育专业的学生开设的专业选修课,属B类(理论+ 实践)。本门课程有助于辅助学生拓宽知识面,具有较强应用性和综合性。
通过该课程的学习,学生能够了解酒店的基本情况和服务要求,学会与之相关的英语语汇和表达方式。通过对学生进行模拟酒店特定情境完成交际任务的语言训练,提高英语交际技能等,为英语专业课的学习奠定基础。
二、课程教学对象、目的和要求
该课程的开始适合英语专业的二年级学生。
开设本课程的目的在于使学生通过学习,能够比较全面地了解酒店的基本情况和服务要求,学会与之相关的英语语汇和表达方式。通过对学生进行模拟酒店特定情境完成交际任务的语言训练,使学生了解大型宾馆酒店的组织架构和服务流程,对主要营业部门及岗位工作中的常见服务情景了解并掌握其基本用语,提高英语交际技能等,加强培养学生的职业道德素养。
学习本课程,要求学生通过对各个情景对话的学习,了解大型涉外宾馆酒店的组织架构、一般服务流程和员工素质要求;熟悉并尽量背诵前厅、客房、餐饮三个部门的情景对话;掌握前厅部、房务部、餐饮部各个情景下的常用英语词汇和基本交际用语。
三、课程的相关课程及其关系
学习本课程前,学生已具备了一定的英语知识和英语表达和交际能力。这为酒店知识的讲解和练习储备了较多的基础知识。
学好本课程后,学生的英语学习兴趣可以得到提高,并为其它课程的学习奠定基础,如口语、听力等。同时,也为学生拓宽知识面起到了辅助作用。
四、课程内容及学时分配
本课程安排在第四学期,总课时为36节。其中理论16学时,实践20学时。

五、考核
该门课程为考查。成绩为100分制,学生总评成绩取决于学生的出勤情况、课堂参与、课后作业和期末考试成绩,其中出勤占10%、课堂参与和课后作业占40%;期末考试占50%。考试采用教师提问、角色扮演、情景模拟等口语形式考察学生对以酒店英语的掌握情况。
