２１世纪英语口语学习
基于语言学，和认知心理学的口语学习解剖

已经是21世纪，口语也不能只靠苦练，而要明白和针对。刘翔跨栏要用计算机和高速摄影来分析和针对不同肌肉训练，练口语也不能光靠加大运动量，闷头对墙跟磁带反复朗读——你会缺乏兴趣丧失毅力坚持。好消息是口语练习也进入了高科技时代，但首先你要对口语有个深入认识：
先把“口语”解剖一下——口语指两个事情：语言和语音。
再解剖语言，它包括：１，词汇(vocabulary)，２，句型(structure)，３，语法(grammar)。
再解剖语音，它包括：１，发音（pronunciation），２，语调(tone)，３，重音(stress)，４，流畅(fluency)。
原来口语这个貌似庞然大物，只有这七块肌肉！现在我们用高速摄影，细致看看这些肌肉。
词汇貌似大龙，但你要知道这些数字：４级单词在4500以内，６级单词6500，托福近万，GRE单词至少２万。听起来很吓人，好消息是：根据研究，对于口语日常应用，需要的单词量是２５００，如果不够，那么你应该下点功夫背单词。如果够了，你就该开始大胆和任何人搭话，并 基本做到能听能说。高中毕业词汇量应该超过2500，但很多词不是口语常用词，你还需要补充一些老外日常常用的词。如果你有5000词汇，那么词汇就不是你说话的主要障碍。词汇要用的精，你需要知道词的常用组合表达，不光知道get是获取，也要知道get off是下车。所以，为了口语，你的第一个目标是熟练使用2500词和相关搭配。
再说句型。稍微回顾你就会发现你要说的话其实都很简单，基本上就这十几个大类――判断，否定，喜好, 祝愿祈使，感叹，疑问，比较，比喻，条件假设，表达时间，地点，原因，目的，结果，程度，让步，转折。每个类型你准备4－5个常用句型就够说了――你不是要对付外语笔试，而是要表达自己。４０－５０个常用句型，两周应该能练出来吧？
语法，中国学生学了很多，时态单复数虽然知道但用起来还是不习惯，因为和中文习惯不同．好消息是在口语里你可以先放松对待它，你会惊讶发现把He dances well说成he dance well或者he danced yesterday说成he dance yesterday，别人不会听不懂，你甚至不必停下来修改你的话．这不是说你该放任，只是要知道美国总统在正式场合说话都犯语法错误都不停顿。
现在，口语这个庞然大物，快变成山羊了吧？语言部分本来就是中国学生的强项，稍微在单词和句型上针对口语一点就好．更具体的单词和句型列表可以在清睿(arivoc.com)找到，比如根据老外口语中使用频率而设计的词汇分级练习，还有常用口语句型。
中国学生的口语弱点是开口说，我们的哑巴英语可是出名的。下面来解剖语音。
发音首先是你的口腔，舌头，牙齿，嘴唇位置正确。这些因素的结果是元音准确饱满，辅音清晰。语调来自你的声带，和唱歌一样，你说的英语要求起伏抑扬，词 有词的起伏，句子有句子的起伏。重音来自你的肺压出的气流多少，也就是声音的大小变化。这三个因素每个都需要单独注意，而且还要完美整合在一起。
流畅是指发音在时间上的长度和转折，（当然，不少流畅问题是你语言上不知道说什么而卡壳，不仅仅是发音问题）。
发音是中国学生的最弱项，发音不准，语调单调乏味，重音错误都很常见。甚至在国际会议上，宣读论文都经常让人难以听懂，更不论日常。中国人和外国人交往，明明你比他聪明，但因为语言让你看上去不如他，甚至让你丧失自信去交流，才真是冤枉！
了解了口语的几个方面，才可以有针对的和高效的练习。顺便说一句：上面七个方面，对应雅思口语考试打分的四个方面，就是１，词汇丰富，２，句型＋语法能准确表达意思，３，发音＋语调＋重音准确清晰，４，流畅。
２１世纪的英语口语学习（2）哑巴英语
不少中国学生4级都过了，但口语还是不行，学了多年的英语却不敢开口。原因很多，比如应试教育侧重，师资等等，怎么解决呢？
这里先用解决哑巴英语做出很大贡献的李阳的一句话开头“发音是英语大厦的基石，发音是自信的基础，发音是兴趣的基础，发音也是听说读写译这五大能力的 基础，有了兴趣英语高分是自然的结果”。这说的很对。我们现在就从发音开始分析。中国学生的发音问题，有三个来源：
１．你学单词没有学正确的发音，所以你不知道一个词的准确发音。
２．你知道词的准确发音，但自己发音不准，自己也听不出自己是否发音准确。３．你什么都知道明白，但就是发不好这个音。
第一个问题是目前中国师资水平下难以避免的问题，也许你的老师发音就有问题，或者你没有很多机会向老师学发音只是自己按音标发，而你音标也没有学好，或 者你只为了考试能认出这个单词，却根本不在乎发音。从现在起，你要关心词汇的发音，首先你要对４２个英语音标的准确发音作个强化，知道like里的i的发 音和中文的“爱”的区别，we和“为”的区别。然后是２５００个口语常用词的发音和重音，还有连读。这些arivoc.com的智能老师都可以帮助你。
