Books on how to do things are very popular in America today.There are about four to five thousand kinds of books about the money.Another may tell you how to save or spend it.And another may explain how to give your money away.Some “How to” books tell you how to choose a way of making a living and how to succeed in it.However, if you fail, you can buy a book which is called “How to turn a Failure into a Success.” If you would like to become very rich, you can buy the book “How to make a Million.” If you never make any money at all, you may need a book called “How to live on nothing.”
If you are unhappy with your life, you can read “How to Love Every Minute of Your Life.” There is even a book called “How to kill yourself.” 24.The Pianist and an Old Woman John was a very famous pianist.When he was a small boy, he once played at a party in the home of a rich man.He was only eight years old, but he had played the piano for several years.At the party he played

A few weeks later, Mrs.Tan’s friend visits her.Her friend is surprised to see that Mrs.Tan is even fatter than before and she is eating a huge sandwich with chocolate and ice cream.“I thought you were on a diet,” her friend says.“Oh, I am.” Mrs.Tan answers.“I’ve already had all the food on my diet today.Now I’m having my dinner.” 28.A Cheap Mea A man goes into a restaurant and sits down at one of the tables.A waiter comes up to him and gives him the menu.The man reads it carefully, then he orders all the most expensive dishes.Then a small boy comes into the restaurant and sits at the man’s table.The waiter comes up and says to the man, “What will your little boy like, sir?” “Oh, just an ice cream,” the man tells him.After he finishes his meal, the man stands up and says to the waiter, “I’m just going out to buy a newspaper.” He leaves the restaurant.The waiter gives the boy an ice cream.The boy eats it, and then stands up and walks to the door.The waiter runs towards him.“Excuse me,” he says, “but your father hasn’t come back and he hasn’t paid for his meal or your ice cream.You’d better stay here until your father comes back and pays his bill.” “He’s not my father,” the boy says.“The man came up to me in the street and asked me if I liked ice cream.I told him I did.The he told me to come into the restaurant at nine o’clock and sit at his table.He said he would give me one.”

中央电视台“希望之星”英语风采大赛是国家广电总局正式批准的、中央电视台社教节目中心主办的面向全国的大型电视英语比赛。大赛分为幼儿组、小学低年级组、小学高年级组、初中组、高中组、成人(职业)组六个组别,是以广大中小学生为主体的全国同类比赛中规模最大、影响人数最多的一项英语赛事,为各年龄段的英语爱好者提供了一个实现英语梦想、展示英语风采的舞台。大赛自2000年起每年举办一届,2009全国参赛选手达150万,至今已成功举办十届。按照中央电视台的统一部署,2011大赛自即日起在全国开始启动。

8.团体组:以学校为单位,分为幼儿、小学、初中、高中、大学组成3-5人的团体参加比赛。
六、比赛安排
大赛分为分赛区选拔赛、省赛区选拔赛、全国总决赛三个阶段;潍坊赛区选拔赛分资格赛、初赛和复赛三个阶段进行,资格赛由选手所在学校、单位统一组织,初赛、复赛由大赛组委会统一组织。
1.报名时间:即日起开始报名,截止至2011年1月10日
2.初赛时间:2011年1月下旬;
3.复赛时间:2011年3月下旬—5月上旬;
4.山东省总决赛:2011年6月;
5.全国总决赛:2011年7月。
七、比赛形式
小低组初赛
1.自我介绍+自选题英文朗诵 2分钟
(自我介绍内容当中不能出现中文名字和学校名称)
2.看图说话 1分钟
(学生现场抽取2幅图片,选手需在1分钟里围绕这2幅图片说句子,保证每幅图片都涉及到,但句子之间可以没有很强的逻辑性,准备时间为30秒。)

小高组初赛
1.自我介绍+自选题英文朗诵 2分钟
(自我介绍内容当中不能出现中文名字和学校名称)
2.看图编故事1分钟
(选手现场抽图,在规定的时间内用所给的图片编故事,准备时间为30秒。)

初中组、高中组、大学组初赛
1.综合知识测试(笔试)20分钟
2.选题朗诵2分钟
(选手将随机抽取字数约100-150字的短文进行朗诵,时间2分钟,准备
时间30秒,主要考察英语语音语调、肢体语言和情感表达等方面)。
3.抽题演讲1.5分钟
(现场抽取图片或关键词,就此素材编一篇短文,准备时间为30秒。)
4.评委提问
团体赛:各组别团体赛人数限制在每组3-5人,比赛形式为英语短剧、歌舞剧、电影配音等与英文相关的集体演出,每组比赛时间不超过5分钟。另外,对各参赛团体的道具要进行一定的限制。
各组别复赛形式待定
* 比赛内容参考范围出自外语与教学研究出版社的《希望之星英语风采大赛培训教程》。
八、比赛要求
1.小学组自选题英语朗诵环节选择必须是不少于100字的英语故事或小短文,并且能在规定时间内完成,要求带入赛场的英语稿统一打印在A4纸上(文稿内容不得出现自我介绍等相关内容),稿子上不允许有任何标记,如注音,中文翻译等,一式两份,一份现场交给评委。此环节主要考察选手的英语语音语调和情感表达等方面。
2.比赛中,选手的英语综合能力、表现力、才艺、团队协作能力等都将作为非常重要的考核标准,与此同时,选手的反应速度、创意、英语知识面等英语综合能力也将作为考核内容。
3.选手的英语基础以及能力将作为选拔的重要标准。为了能选拔出综合能力强的选手,选手临场的应变能力、表现力、配合协作的能力也将作为被考核的内容。
九、赛前培训
2011赛季全国组委会对赛前培训实行统一管理。经中央电视台考评授权,潍坊赛区大赛唯一指定培训机构为“潍坊哈佛外语培训学校”,为确保潍坊赛区选手能更好地把握参赛要求,掌握参赛技巧,全面了解参赛的相关事项,力争在比赛中取得更好的成绩,潍坊赛区组委会将在初赛和复赛前组织完整系统的赛前培训,培训教材为全国组委会与外语教学与研究出版社共同编写的《中央电视台希望之星英语风采大赛培训教程》,选手可自愿报名参加。

1.报名形式:以学校为单位集中报名.2.报名地点:
3.比赛费用(全国统一标准):
(1)大赛资格赛免收报名费。
(2)进入初赛环节的选手每人需交纳 50元的初赛费。进入复赛环节的选手每人需交纳 60元的复赛费,同时获得由赛区组委会向选手赠送的大赛指定参考资料一套和参赛注册卡一张。
(3)进入省赛以后环节的选手,不再交纳参赛费,可能产生的交通或食宿费用自理。
4.参赛选手需交纳近期免冠1寸照片2张。
5.为了规范比赛,中央电视台对2011赛季规定了网上注册环节,凡进入到复赛环节的选手,必须持注册卡在规定时间内,登录央视国际网络()注册个人信息,获得确认后方可参加后续比赛,未及时按要求注册的选手,后续参赛资格和比赛成绩无效。
6.节目播出及推广阶段:2011年7月至8月,播出全国决赛实况录像。
十一、赛事后续活动
1.2011“希望之星”北京夏令营
(1)为了满足广大参赛选手的要求,全国组委会研究决定,2011全国总决赛期间,将举办“‘希望之星’北京万人夏令营活动”,届时报名选手将有幸作为嘉宾进入中央电视台10号演播大厅,直接参与全国总决赛的赛事,亲眼目睹全国优秀选手的风采展示,还将参加全国组委会统一安排的多位 “央视著名主持人与大赛选手见面会”,实现与央视名嘴零距离接触。
(2)海外夏令营
具体方案将在潍坊赛区组委会网站发布:.2、“希望英语走进校园伴我成长”活动(由承办学校提出申请,潍坊赛区组委会负责协调全国组委会统一安排)。
十二、奖项设置
1、潍坊赛区各组分别设置特等奖、一等奖、二等奖、三等奖、优胜奖、希望奖。
2、优秀辅导教师将获得大赛组委会颁发的“优秀指导教师”证书。
3、优秀参赛单位将获得大赛组委会颁发的“优秀组织单位”证书。

中央电视台“希望之星”英语风采大赛是中央电视台教育专题部主办的全国性大型电视英语比赛。自2000年以来,中央电视台已成功地举办了七届“希望之星”英语风采大赛,在全国范围内引起了强烈的轰动和极大的影响,得到各级领导和广大电视观众的一致好评。我市选手在历届比赛中取得了骄人成绩,继李莱茵和王一霖勇夺第四届中学组全国总冠军和第五届小学组全国总决赛亚军之后,2006年更以明显的优势一举包揽了广东赛区总决赛小学、初中、高中三组别的冠军和小学、高中组亚军,进而在全国总决赛中力压群雄,勇夺小学组冠、亚军和初中组第三名,为我市硕果累累的教育事业增添了新的荣誉。
2007中央电视台迎奥运“希望之星”英语风采大赛(以下简称大赛),旨在选拔全国英语爱好者中的佼佼者,增强学习英语的信心,展示他们的风采、树立英语学习的榜样,激发全社会学习英语的兴趣,为迎接2008年北京奥运会创造良好的语言环境。
大赛定于2006年10月至2007年7月在全国举行。深圳赛区将首次作为单列独立赛区,直接选拔优秀选手参加北京全国总决赛。根据大赛全国组委会有关赛程规则,深圳赛区选拔赛定于2006年11月至2007年5月在深圳举行,欢迎广大英语爱好者报名参赛。

二、比赛宗旨:

1、深圳赛区选拔赛分为小学组、初中组、高中组、大学/成人组四个组别,各组设初赛、复赛、决赛三个阶段比赛。
2、初赛:以听力为主的笔试形式进行考核,选拔出优胜选手进入复赛。
3、复赛:以初赛相同的形式为基础,结合口语录音或面试进行考核,选拔出优胜选手进入决赛。
4、决赛:采用中央电视台总决赛的评奖形式进行,用英语命题演讲、现场口语、听力测试(现场问答)等形式进行,主要考察参赛选手的英语应用能力和知识面。决赛选拔出每组三名优胜选手参加全国总决赛。
四、奖项设置:
1、深圳赛区复赛每组设置特等奖和一、二、三等奖。获特等奖选手进入决赛。
2、深圳赛区决赛每组设置冠军、亚军、季军各1名;最佳语音奖、最具风采奖、最具学识奖、最具勇气奖(小学组)等单项奖各1名。每组前三名代表深圳赛区到北京参加中央电视台全国总决赛。
3、深圳赛区组委会和承办单位将为赛区获奖选手和指导老师将颁发荣誉证书,以资鼓励。
4、参加以上赛事的选手食宿和交通费用自理。
五、时间安排:
1、前期准备和报名阶段:2006年11月20日至12月20日。
2、深圳赛区选拔赛阶段:
初赛:2006年12月24日。
复赛:2007年 4月8日。
决赛:2007年 5月13日。
3、全国总决赛:2007年6月。
六、报名及参赛办法:
1、凡喜爱英语,有一定英语基础的中国籍青少年学生均可报名参加大赛。为了
让更多的选手参赛,已经进入过往届广东赛区和全国总决赛的选手不得再次报名参加同一组别的比赛。
2、按中央电视台和大赛全国组委会统一规定,大赛的活动经费安排如下:
(1)大赛是一项全民文化公益活动,由中央电视台支付资金用于全国总决赛的节目录制及播出。
(2)参加初赛的选手每人需交纳报名费、初赛费50元,用于初赛的宣传、场地、比赛、评卷等赛务开支。
(3)进入复赛的选手须交纳60元复赛费,用于复赛场地、出题、比赛、评委、证书等赛务开支,大赛组委会向参加复赛选手赠送一套大赛参赛参考资料。
(4)进入深圳赛区决赛和全国总决赛的选手,不再交纳参赛费。
3、报名方式:
(1)参赛选手于12月20日前携学生证或户口簿复印件、正面免冠近照2张和
报名费50元到承办单位星光文化艺术培训中心办理报名手续。
4、赛区承办单位于赛前发出比赛通知、选手注意事项和参赛证。参赛选手按赛前通知的时间、地点和要求参赛。具体时间如有变动,以赛前通知为准。
七、其他事宜:
1、参赛选手参赛期间有关的文字、相片和摄影等资料的所有权和发布权属于大赛组委会。
2、本次活动的解释权归大赛组委会。
