一般认为，在中国专业技术职称的英译中应遵循以下几条原则：一要体现“国际性”。中国职称的29个系列中，有些系列国外也有，如高校教师。凡是国际上有通用称呼的，就应移植过来，不可执意搞“创新”；国外没有的，翻译时也要尽可能照顾国际习惯，尽可能让外国人基本理解。二要体现“级别性”。我国各职称系列中的高、中、初几个级别应力求表达出来，这样，外国人易懂，同时也不失我国评定职称的初衷。三要作“解释性翻译”，不要直译，更不可按汉语逐字硬译。四要简短、明了，能用一两个英文单词译出的，就不要译成一长串。五要区别不同系列。例如，我国的图书资料、档案、文物博物等三个职称系列中，都有“研究馆员”这一正高级职称，翻译时不能笼而统之，应分别译出他们是研究什么专业的高级馆员。

职称和职务的区别是什么？ 参考答案

职称是专业技术上的。

职务是行政上的。

职称是专业技术或行政职务的资格证，表明具备了一定的专业技术职务或行政领导职务的水平或能力。

职务是已经担任过或实际担任的专业技术职务或行政领导职务。

职称，指的是专业技术资格。职称最初源于职务名称，在理论上职称是指专业技术人员的专业技术水平、能力，以及成就的等级称号，反映专业技术人员的学术和技术水平、工作能力的工作成就。职称通过申报、评审，由主管部门授予，一般认为决定是否授予职称是由主管部门领导决定，评审主要是形式。

职位指工作中的位置或地位，而职务即职位规定应担任的工作。

在目前中国的现状下，职务主要代表社会地位，有高职务的人享有较高的社会经济和福利待遇，与实际技能未必有直接关联。即高职称的人未必担任高职务，高职务的可以领导高职称的。
