摘 要
厄内斯特.海明威(1899---1961)是美国二十世纪著名作家,在世界文坛上,他享有很高的声誉。《老人与海》是海明威与晚年证明自己创作实力的杰作,并且充分体现了他的人生哲学,它也是美国价值的精髓。
本论文主要是通过对桑提亚哥这个人物形象的分析来展开的。通过对海明威所处的社会环境和其人生经历的研究,说明了海明威的人生哲学形成的背景。并进一步通过桑提亚哥与大海、鲨鱼和小男孩之间的关系来反映海明威的人生哲学。小男孩代表着人类的精神的生生不息,大海则象征着险恶与多变的环境,面对浩瀚的大海,桑提亚哥所表现出的态度,他充分表现了人类的一种精神,敢于同大自然、恶劣的环境和多桀的命运作斗争的精神,充分展现了人的智慧、刚毅与坚忍。不仅是歌颂一种“硬汉”精神,它有着更加深层的涵义,它深刻地反映了作者的人生哲学和生活观,即:在残酷的社会现实和命运之中,人应该勇敢地面对一切痛苦和磨难,并同一切痛苦和磨难进行斗争,热爱生活,珍惜生命。人生的意义既不在于“成功”,也不在于“失败”,而在于斗争,勇于同残酷的社会现实和冷漠无情的命运进行抗争,这才是真正地热爱生活、珍惜生命。

Abstract
Ernest Hemingway(1899-1961)is a famous writer in American in the 20th century.Hemingway’s philosophy of life has a profound influence on modern American values.At the same time, it has extensive significance on the whole world;you will learn how to adopt a correct attitude towards failure, and how to struggle in adversity.His “code hero”----Santiago is a guide to all human beings.He represents the spirit of the time.And the novel The Old Man and the Sea has brought luster to the realistic literature.Among his books ,The Old Man and the Sea(1952)is the most famous one.The works made Hemingway win the Nobel Prize in 1954.And the main character-Santiago becomes the typical“code hero”in literature.The work aroused interest of many readers, and many critics have made comments on it.But these comments from critics mostly talk about his“code hero”and “lost generation”.In fact, the work deeply reveals Hemingway’s philosophy of life and life attitude.This thesis intends to reach a thorough understanding of Hemingway’s philosophy of life through the novel The Old Man and the Sea: when facing the cruel social reality and miserable fate, man should be brave and struggle with all the pains and sufferings, loving life and treasuring life.The

1语言知识、文化知识的讲授
1.1基础英语课应重视语言知识的讲授和语言技能的培养
(1)语音知识的掌握是专业英语的第一步,也是至关重要的一步。语音的好坏直接关系到学生听力水平、口语水平以及阅读速度和理解效率的提高。“人们发出的音,其传递的过程就是接收者听的过程。没有良好的语音基础,就无法把单词的音和义联系起来,就会严重影响听力水平的提高。因此,学好语音,是提高听力的基础,对最终提高听力起着决定性的作用。”(郭瑞芝,2003)而基础英语又是听、说、读、写、译的综合学习与提高,所以语音知识的讲授对学生是十分重要的,尤其是对重音的掌握。一些单词由于重音不同,词性、词义就会发生变化。语音、语调的准确度也会影响学生对课文理解的准确程度。
(2)语法是语言学家对语言本身规律的系统化的归纳总结。教师教授语法知识的过程就是学生对该门语言内在规律的学习和掌握过程。教师一定要让学生把课堂中所学的语法知识运用到阅读和写作之中,达到巩固和熟练的程度。在基础英语课上,教师更应该鼓励和引导学生说出、写出符合语法规则的句子。
(3)英语专业一、二年级的一项基本任务就是扩大学生的词汇量,而基础英语则是词汇知识学习的重要途径之一,也是基础英语课的重点内容之一。中学阶段,学生虽然积累了一定数量的词汇,但词汇意义比较单一。上大学以后,作为英语专业的学生,要想在英语听、说、读、写、译能力方面有较大的提高,就必须扩大词汇量,丰富词汇知识。
1.2基础英语课应融入文化知识的讲授和学习
语言本身是一种外在表现形式,一种载体,一种外壳,其内在富含着很多内容,包罗万象。其中有百科知识、社会文化,更有着人们对生活的哲理和智慧,这就要求基础英语课教师在教授语言知识的同时,要融入文化知识的讲授与学习。语言的内涵是知识与文化,而语言是不能离开知识与文化的;离开了内容,运载工具是没有意义的,是空的。教师一定要让学生了解语言的文化背景、中西文化的差异,从而提高学生的人文素养,增强实践能力,培养创新精神。
2基础英语课堂中情感教育的融入
(1)教师利用课文内容进行情感教育。笔者所在的延安大学外国语学院英语专业所用的基础英语课本是由外语教学与研究出版社出版的《现代大学英语精度》。现就第一册的第二课为例,对利用课文内容进行情感教育进行分析。
第二课(GoingHome)教师在分析完全文后可让学生对文章主题进行归纳总结。学生在熟悉文
章故事情节的基础上很容易就会总结出“Forgiveness”是通篇的主题。教师可引导学生就这一话题展开讨论,让学生明白人与人之间的谅解是十分重要的,也是人能够快乐生活的一项重要法则。同时教师还可以引导学生对那四个热心的年轻人进行分析,得出人与人之间应该存有信任和热情。进而,引申到学生的日常生活中,鼓励学转自http://生用一颗善良的心对待周围的人和事。学会包容和原谅别人的错误。
(2)教师用自身的眼神、表情及课堂用语直接影响学生的情绪。情绪是调动语言交际的有利手段。教师如果能在课堂上营造一种友好、宽松、自由的表达氛围,就会最大程度的调动学生学习的主动性和积极性。“因为轻松的气氛能开启人的左脑(主管语言)和嘴唇”。加之教师带有启发性的提问和鼓励性的眼神、表情更会使学生处于一种跃跃欲试的学习状态中,从而敢于表达、愿意表达。
(3)大学生正处于思维活跃期,对呆板、教条的教学模式充满了排斥。教师可结合所讲授的内容合理的加入“对话表演”、“游戏”、“辩论”、“唱歌”、“自由谈话”等形式,让学生在课堂上保持新鲜感和愉悦感,从而减少中国学生在语言学习过程中的“矜持”和“被动”,让学生的思维动起来。这样会更有利于开启学生的表达能力,调动学生语言学习的积极性和主动性。
教师在继续保持基础英语课,重视听、说、读、写、译综合能力培养的同时,融入情感教育,使课堂气氛活跃起来,把学生的求知激情、创新能力和语言潜力充分调动起来。让学生在快乐中学习知识,提高自身的综合素质。
3多媒体的应用
语言知识的学习是多种形式下的语言信息的传入。教师可通过多种感官,用多种信息形式向学生提供信息。多媒体技术正是具有这种能力的一种技术。
首先,教师可利用多媒体激发学生的学习兴趣。我国现阶段的英语专业基础英语教学,虽然已经逐渐摆脱了“以教师为中心”的传统教学模式,但大部分基础英语教师已经形成了固定的课堂模式。(教师以各种形式,从课文中列出语言点、重点、难点句子,通过讲解和练习来帮助学生掌握这些语言点,弄懂句子,理解文章中心。学生课后则困在记单词、词组和语法规则的学习任务里。结果是老师教的辛苦,学生学的乏味。)学习最终成了苦差事,学生也就失去了语言学习的积极性和主动性。多媒体的介入,改变了这种尴尬的境地,让一节课有多个兴奋点以激发学生的思维,提高学生对语言的兴趣。通过多媒体,可以给学生提供图文并茂、动静结合、视听并用的语言素材(如时代背景、角色、形象、心理活动等),大大提高了教学效果。尤其是对英语基础较差的同学,通过这种方式学生会更容易理解消化所学内容,激发他们的学习兴趣。
其次,教师可通过多媒体教学加大课容量。基础英语教学的一个显著特点就是信息输入量大。多媒体教学大大加大了课堂信息量的输入,有利于拓宽学生的知识面。传统的教学模式通常是“一张嘴,一支粉笔,一块黑板”。教师如果利用多媒体辅助课堂教学,就可以将以前需要在黑板上抄写的大量教学内容实现做在课件上,上课时鼠标轻轻一动,教学内容就立刻出现在屏幕上,节省了大量的板书时间,从而大大增加了课堂容量,丰富了教学内容,教师也就可以把更多的时间放在其它内容的讲解上,更好的开展教学活动。
4结语
基础英语课程在英语专业的重要地位决定了其教学模式必须在不断的探索实践中一步步改进、完善。也只有在不懈的实践中,才能最大限度的实现基础英语课教学任务的目标,最终促使英语学习者英语水平和综合素质的整体提高。
