我是一名英语教师，20多年的教学实践，我最大的感慨是：让学生爱上一门课，是学好这门课的要害。那么，怎样让我的学生爱上英语课的呢？
让学生爱上英语老师——用人格魅力影响学生
教师是用灵魂塑造灵魂，用人格影响人格。我曾这样说过：“上等教师用眼神说话，中等教师用语言说话，下等教师用拳脚说话。”当一个教师的人格魅力在学生中引起共鸣后，他们就像“追星族”一样，对你所教的学科如痴如醉。所以，从教之初，我就给自己定下了12字方针：“诚信为本，有诺必践，率先垂范”。并以此为本，为学生作出表率。
去年我所带的高三年级三个班的英语课，在湖北省黄冈市教研室组织的全市质量检测中，分别获得前三名。市教研室的调研成绩揭晓后，我抚模着6本厚厚的教案，几乎是流着眼泪回忆了过去的一幕幕。是啊，课上一分钟，课下十年功。没有十年磨一剑的反复锤炼，哪有这来之不易的成绩啊！
回想这些，我的体会是：加强科研，向教研要质量。通过教研，下功夫备好课。备教材：对每一课的重点难点把握准，把握透，以便熟练地驾驭教材，让每一个知识点都清清楚楚，明明白白；备学生：对每一个班级的情况都深入了解，具体情况具体分析，最大限度地发挥学生各自的优势；备教法：力求不断变换教学方法，以全新的视角激起学生求知的欲望。再者就是通过教研精挑细选，选例子，选材料，选方法。平时多给学生提供材料，多给学生分析问题，动脑思考的机会。
让学生爱上英语课——开展丰富多彩的活动
新课标注重让每个学生都生动活泼，富有特色地发展。结合学校实际我们开辟了英语角，让学生参加听说读写译活动。比如我喜爱写文章，学生愿意跟我学。我就鼓励他们多写、多投稿。这样的活动不仅提高学生的学习爱好，也培养了他们乐观向上的人生态度。
进行教学手段的更新，多想办法，利用第二课堂、爱好组活动、知识竞赛等多种途径，开拓学生的视野，激发学生的爱好。我还鼓励学生自制教具、自制图片、自制课件。通过这些丰富多彩的活动，引导学生进行思考，提高学生的动手能力。
让学生轻松学好英语——加强学法指导，变“学会”为“会学”
高一、二年级的学生，学习较为死板，针对这种情况，我加大了学法指导的力度，先做课件，让学生用多媒体体会学法的奥妙：同样一种知识，学生气诫记忆，用40分钟记不住；经教师指导后进行理解记忆，仅用了10分钟就记住了；再把这些内容编成顺口溜或口诀，学生用了不到5分钟就烂熟于心，且不会忘记。由此我提醒学生变机诫记忆为逻辑记忆，变逻辑记忆为形象记忆等。我还根据艾宾浩斯的遗忘曲线，提醒学生及时复习，每晚回忆，课前回顾，取得了颇佳的效果。
对学生的学法指导，重点是怎样培养学生学习的积极性、自觉性和主动性。假如只是一味地通过拼时间、拼精力来追求成绩的提高，最终只能是本末倒置，适得其反。所以，我们的教育要有长远打算，应该着眼于孩子的前途和未来，着眼于孩子的终身发展，最终的落脚点应该是教会学生怎样学习，教会他们学习的方法，引导他们积极主动地去学。
摘要：优化课堂教学结构，训练学生的英语运用能力是实施英语素质教育的关键。本文从五个方面论述了具体的做法：优化学习氛围，创设会话环境；优化教学内容，实践语言“内化”；优化教学活动，提高运用能力；优化教师素质，提高教学能力；优化教学方法，创新教学模式。关键词：英语教学；学习氛围；教学内容；教学活动；教师素质；教学模式
英语是一门实践性很强的学科，它是一个包括听、说、读、写的操练和语言信息的输入输出的实践过程。因此，教师必须把学生置于运用语言的活动中去感知、分析、理解、操练，从模拟
交际到真实交际，以期达到真正掌握英语。所有这一切都必须靠发挥学生的主观能动性，激发他们的学习兴趣，使其形成良好的学习动机和教师为其创造良好的客观条件，才能有效地实现。因此，优化课堂教学结构，训练学生的英语运用能力是实施英语素质教育的重要关键。
一、优化学习氛围，创设会话环境
要使英语学习从“必然王国”走向“自由王国”，语言环境是非常重要的。要激发学生的学习兴趣，就一定要给学生创设一个学英语、用英语的环境，这个环境包括硬环境和软环境。所谓“硬环境”，就是在室内设置英语墙报，英文标语，英语画刊等，在室外开办“英语角”，强化对各种物品的英语名称的识记，以此体现和强化一种外语氛围；所谓“软环境”，就是师生之间、同学之间在课内外经常用英语进行会话。课堂上运用挂图、投影片等创设情景，用英语看图说话，用英语扮演角色，用英语搞抢答赛，用英语进行思维和想象，最大限度地创设会话环境，使学生学习英语有一种自我追求、自我完善、自我提高的兴趣和动力。
二、优化教学内容，实践语言“内化”
成功的英语教学不只是看一节课教了多少内容，最重要的是看学生练了多少，学会了多少，在实践中能用多少，这种“学会”、“能用”就是“内化”。为此，在英语教学实践中，就要以此为目标优化教学内容，优化教学手段，优化“识记——操练——运用”的教学过程，让学生在整个教学活动中有强烈的求知欲和成功感。
要优化教学内容，就必须吃透教材，活化教材，使教材内容生活化，让学生感到书本语言和我们生活实践贴得很近，对教学内容具有亲切感，进而产生浓厚的求知欲和强烈的进取欲，变被动吸取为主动探索。因此，创造性地钻研教学内容，在利教、便学、易记上下功夫，在培养学生能力上下功夫，是切实有效地提高英语教学质量的有效途径。优化教学手段，必须充分利用和创设情景，无论是语言情景、实物情景、声像情景都可以激发学生的学习兴趣。如听录音、看投影、角色对话等，让学生入情入景，努力使书本语言和实际运用统一起来，使课堂教学在全方位、多层次的活动中轻松愉快地进行。优化教学过程，必须把重点放在提高学生语言运用的能力上，必须纠正从书本回到书本的“一读二背”的简单识记，而要从识记、操练向运用飞跃。要达到这样的目标，必须使学生听、说、读、写四种技能得到全面发展，并能综合运用，必须通过强化训练提高学生动脑、动口、动手能力，坚持每天值日汇报，开展一些丰富多彩的比赛活动，如阅读、讲故事、唱歌、书法、简笔画等，这是提高学生外语素质、实践外语“内化”的重要举措。
三、优化教学活动，提高运用能力
学习语言的最终目的是运用。在英语教学活动中切忌死记硬背，而要千方百计强化语言运用能力的训练。在训练中，我们要努力融知识性、趣味性、灵活性于一炉，追求最佳的表达效果。如训练造句能力，教师可以先提问：“What are you going to bewhen you grow up？”学生根据各自的志愿做出回答：“I am going to be a teacher/a worker/an officer/a cleaner and so on.”教者还可继续问：“why？”通过训练，学生不但可以巩固已学词语，而且能学会根据语境做出相应的反应、正确的应答，从而提高英语运用能力。
再如，运用投影，创设问路情境组织学生进行角色扮演，将静景变为动景，将书本语言变为交际语言。在课堂上可以启发学生总结归纳有关问路的说法，再用投影片展示下列句子：(1)Excuse me, where’s the nearest„，please？(2)Is there a„near here？(3)Which is the way to„,please？(4)How can I get to„please？(5)Do you know the way to„，please？(6)Can you tell me the way to...，please?(7)Can you find the way to...？(8)I want to go to...？(9)I’m looking for...Where is it，do you k now?(10)I can’t
find the way to...Can you tell me how to get to...，please？ Walk along this road/street.It’s about...meters from here.Take the first turning on the left/right...Walk on and turn left/right.再进行一系列操练，让全班学生都参与活动。
当生活中这些熟悉的画面再现在同学们面前时，学生自然会情绪高涨，跃跃欲试，他们会揣摸不同身份人物的心理，模拟出各种不同的语言、动作、神态。这种知识性、趣味性相结合的训练，可以使新旧知识融会贯通，书本知识交际化，课堂活动生活化，在“润物细无声”中，学生的英语运用能力可以得到显着提高。
四、优化教师素质，提高教学能力
要搞好教育，教师队伍建设是关键，而教师的教学思想和教学观念直接影响着教育的成效。作为今天的教师，我们在昨天受教育，却在今天教育明日社会的主人。现代信息技术的发展，为学生提供了更丰富的学习资源、学习方式、学习空间和学习手段。
现代化的世界迫使教师不断学习和应用现代信息技术，树立新的教育观念，紧跟时代的步伐，使今天的教育向明天更加靠近。因此，教师必须树立终身学习的思想，不断学习新的知识，获取新的信息，以完成知识结构的调整和更新，提高适应现代化教学的能力。同时，在教学过程中，特别是现代信息技术的运用，也使“改善师生关系、落实学生主体地位、发挥学生自主学习意识、培养创新能力”等观念和意识更加深入教师的大脑，让教师不得不摈弃以往单纯以粉笔和黑板、以教师和书本为中心的旧的教学方式。
五、优化教学教法，创新教学模式
在中学英语教学中，受中学教法的影响，多采用原来的五步教学法，现代信息技术与英语教学的整合，促进了现代信息技术在教学过程中的普遍应用，使得教学内容的呈现方式、教师的教学方式和师生互动方式发生变化，并为学生的学习和发展提供了丰富多彩的教育环境和有力的学习工具，是教学过程得到充分的改善。
现在，英语教师大多能熟练运用PowerPoint软件制作演示文稿、用Flash 软件制作动画、用Photoshop 进行图片处理，有的还能制作网站。例如：老师用制作的多媒体交互式课件进行教学，把课件放在网上，发送到学生机，让学生根据自己的实际情况，操作鼠标，点击主界面上提供的对话，歌曲，练习等项目来完成学习，所有的问题都在课件中呈现。因为它是交互式的，所以大多数问题学生能够通过操作电脑解决。活动化的教学过程更使学生感受到了英语学习的无穷乐趣，体验到了成功的愉悦心情。可见，这样的教学过程，注重了培养学生的独立性和自主性，它能引导学生质疑、调查、探究，在实践中学习，这样的教学环境能引导学生主动参与，激发学生的学习积极性，培养他们掌握和应用知识的态度和能力，使每个学生都能得到很好的发展。

I think a teacher should be good at explaining things.A teacher should be fun but challenging.A good teacher should be organized.I like a teacher who teaches fun activities in class and not just writing on paper.From this we may be aware that if a child does not feel safe and secure in the classroom he will not be learning to the best of their potential.And this required us to bring out the best in a child, to make learning a fun and exciting experience.Learning should be something the students want to actively participate in.If a teacher makes the learning experience exciting, then the students will be excited along with you.The way of teaching is not unique for a professional.Various teaching methods are wanted.And there will be a wonderful opportunity to learn and grow from each other.The environment surrounding the children is a primary factor in leading them toward their full, creative potential.Once you have taken a class idea, smoothed out all the bumps, and proven it is a winner, you will find new ways and places with eager new students waiting for you to show up.Teaching is supposed to be the system that removes barriers and provides a solid base for achievement.It is wrong to replace one set of barriers with another.For example, pressuring students to accept the status quo, by establishing a fear to be different and a fear of failure, kill creativity.Independent thinking should replace dependency.In some cases, pressure to excel in academics kills ethics, loyalty and motivation, skills needed for success in the real world.So the more useful teaching methods there are in a class, the more effective the teaching is.Third, teaching can be a wonderful occupation that can contribute to your growth as well as to the growth of your students.As a theorist pointed out, Assertive discipline being used in the classroom is helpful.It is believed that children have the right to learn and no child should be taken that right away from them.It focused on the rights of the teacher and the students.The students know what is expected of them and the consequences if they do not follow the rules.As a teacher my purpose is to give students the tools needed to get them through life.When a student comes into my classroom they come in with a clean slate.And on the other side, the teacher will face the exciting changes and challenges.If she wants to offer many new things to the class, she must renew her own knowledge.In fact we are both learning, learning from each other.Just as a coin has two sides, when we are teaching our students, we are at the same time learning something from them.“If there is anything we wish to change in a child, we should first examine it and see whether it is not something that could be better changed in ourselves.”
