entertainments.However, it seems the organization has lost its focus and therefore losing the market share to more savvy competitors.The revenue started to declinesince 2000, and thenStrathfield has been stuck firmly in the doldrums for several years.In middle of 2005 the company’s shares have hovered around 5c, which was floating at $1.70 in 1998.After several years of losses,Strathfieldfinally managed a small profit in 2007-08 financial year.However, in the same year, there were five different chairmen appointed in five months and a period of six months without a chief executive.The instability of management was not doing a benefit to the business.Like most businesses, Strathfield was also suffered badly during the financial crisis.Rising interest rate caused uncertainty about future demand and growth.And the poor trading over Chirstmas 2008 and worsening forecast for 2009 caused the company to go to voluntary administration.The administration was ended in Mar 2009 by a deed of company arrangement.Strathfield then
started to restructure to franchising model.It was believed that this structure would inject capital back into the business and reduce the risk of liabilities, such as leases and employees, to the company.However, the restructuring does not seem to be successful.In July 2011 Strathfield was seeking to de-list its shares from ASX which was trading less than 1c.And three months later, it is seemed that Strathfieldis on the verge of voluntary administration again.In response to the collapse of Strathfield, it is important to conclude on what went wrong or what lessons learnt?
