一、英语儿歌的特点和意义

德国教育家第斯多惠说:“教育的艺术不在于传授知识,而在于激励、唤醒、鼓舞。”在教学过程中运用儿歌的形式,以歌促学,寓教于乐,会收到良好的效果。为了更好地运用儿歌教学,教师应先认识英语儿歌的基本特点。

1.以内容的浅显传英语儿歌的形象性

内容浅显的英语儿歌把正确的语法、词汇和儿童口语结合起来,形成优美的、规范的儿童英语口语。英语儿歌特别强调形象性,儿歌的内容着力于对人和事物的具体描绘,并且添加进摹声和拟人的表现手法,这可以直接引起儿童对事物的注意、想象和理解,并且赋予事物以生命。

2.以反复的节奏传英语儿歌的和谐性

儿歌音乐悦耳、鲜明,这使儿童产生愉悦感。少年儿童思维虽然很灵活,但却也很单纯,尤其是初学英语的孩子们,他们大多只能接受简单的英语句型,并且需要多次重复其句型或个别单词。儿歌的内容就正合他们的口味,它虽然内容比较单调,但却配以和谐的韵律,这从听觉上给儿童以愉悦感,并且这些明朗、轻松的节奏常形成有规律的反复,更增强了和谐性。例如儿歌《Little bee》“: Little bee, little bee, round,round, round;little bee,little bee, sound, sound, sound.”此儿歌中运用了反复的表现手法,作品的语言根据情节需要多次反复,这样的语句给儿童深刻的印象,并且这种反复的节奏感、音韵感形成的声音能够强烈的感染儿童。

3.以动感的语言传英语儿歌的动作性

小学低年级的儿童主要是以具体形象性思维为主,但大多数儿童还是保留了直觉行动思维的特点,这样的特点决定了儿歌中要增强动作性。教师在教学中可以发现,游戏常常能帮助孩子们学习英语的单词及句型,那么如果在内容浅显且音乐和谐的英语儿歌中增加进动感的语言就能够唤起儿童的注意力,并能够增强他们对内容的理解。例如儿歌《Do some exercise with me》因为英语儿歌具有这些其他英语文学形式所不能比拟的独特特点,所以在小学低年级英语教育中我们提倡多用英语儿歌进行教学,以此来陶冶儿童的性情,开启他们的心智,从而促进儿童听说能力的发展。

二、英语课堂中的儿歌教学方式

1.情境教学法

情境教学法是近年来比较成熟的一种教学法。情境的核心是把学习的语言内容通过不同的情境呈现出来,将语言教学从单词的文字描述中解放出来,使学生在特定的情境中学习和运用语言,儿歌中情与境的结合恰好使儿童处于一种宽松,自由且贴近儿童生活的氛围中。它的主要特点是新的英语儿歌通过情境进行教学和操作,能够使儿童在情境中兴趣高、理解快、记得牢。那么,如何创设这种轻松愉快的情境呢?教师可以从以下两方面入手:

首先是利用自然环境,创设游戏情境,丰富多彩的自然界是儿童学习英语儿歌的活的“教材”。自然界中的花草树木,游鱼爬虫,高山流水,日出日落等美丽景色,都能让孩子们身临其境,让孩子们在观察的过程中利用自然界中的素材来学习英语儿歌。例如儿歌《They are cute》:Panda, panda, black and white, you are lovely, you are quiet.Zebra, zebra, black and white, you are nice and fast.Monkey, monkey, brown and grey, you are clever, you are funny.Tiger, tiger, yellow and black.you are cute and great.教授这首儿歌时,教师可出示图片或多媒体课件,制作一个动物园,先让学生观察动物的颜色,然后可以让孩子们把自己对着些动物的观察都描绘出来,最好再由教师总结,这样能使学生较快地记住各个动物的特点。

其次是利用角色扮演,创造模拟情境,在教师创设的模拟情境中,儿童扮演儿歌中的角色,通过表情、动作,来理解和表达所学的内容。

2.英语韵律操

选定一定的旋律,将英语单词短语填成歌词,让学生在教师的指导下边唱边跳,这样的效果非常好。在教学过程中教师可以为儿童提供多种刺激,让儿童能够从不同角度多方位地感知理解,让孩子们在各种不同的外景刺激下,充分调动自己的感官来参与活动,这是一种综合运用视、听、讲、做的方法。如儿歌《I love you》:“Apple round, apple red, apple juicy, apple sweet.Apple apple, I love you.Apple sweet I like to eat.”儿童在学习这首儿歌时,教师可以提供给儿童红红的大苹果,让儿童观察苹果的形状、颜色、尝一尝苹果的味道,画一画苹果的形状,这能让儿童在动口、动手、动脑的综合性活动中获得英语学习的经验。

“教人未见其趣,必不乐学。”教师在教学中应根据教学内容设计灵活多样的教学形式,开展多种多样的教学活动,从而很好地培养孩子们的韵律及节奏,也能间接地培养学生的英语学习的浓厚兴趣,把无味的语言现象变成生动有趣的课堂形式,让儿童在课堂上更活跃,学得更好。

众所周知,音乐优美的旋律能沟通人们的感情,调节紧张的气氛。童谣充满着少儿的幻想,洋溢着孩童的纯真,以其独特的韵律、节奏能赢得孩子们的喜爱。作为一种教学材料,恰当的学习英文歌曲和童谣能够为英语学习创造和谐、愉快的环境,提高学生学习英语的兴趣。在英语儿歌教学时,能让幼儿通过聆听、唱诵儿歌的形式兴趣盎然地学习英语,同时,通过综合运用活动性、直观性、讲授性的教学方法达到其独有的学习效果。

一、英语儿歌的定义及特点

英语儿歌是儿童口头传唱的歌谣,它们大多是根据幼儿的理解能力、心理特点,以简明的音韵写成,也有部分儿歌是幼儿自己在游戏等场合随口编唱的英文歌。英语儿歌的主要特点是语言浅显、音韵自然和谐、富于动作性。

1.语言浅显

幼儿期是学习语言的关键期,此时幼儿英语语句简单、语法结构单纯、语汇贫乏,因此,语言浅显的英语儿歌把正确的语法、语汇与幼儿的口语结合起来,形成优美的、规范的幼儿英语口语,适应了幼儿语言发展的水平,能被幼儿理解和接受。英语儿歌中使用的词汇主要是名词(动物、植物、食物、日常用品、交通工具等)、动词(走、跑、跳、爬等基本动作)、形容词(颜色、形状、大小等),这些词反映的事物及其属性比较具体,契合了幼儿的思维特点。同时,英语儿歌中简单句的大量使用,容易为他们所接受和掌握。

2.音韵自然和谐

儿歌与音乐密切联系,儿歌中特有的悦耳和谐的音韵和鲜明的节奏能使幼儿产生愉悦感。有些儿歌在内容上没有多大意义,但其和谐的韵律、铿铿的音响都从听觉上给幼儿以愉悦。因而儿歌的语言不仅要求浅显、口语化,而且须有严格的韵律、明朗的节奏,常形成有规律的反复。音节自然响亮,易学易记,同时配合节奏边念儿歌边做动作。另外节奏可以帮助推动情节的发展,同时带给作品内在的乐感。儿歌中运用了反复的表现手法,作品同样的语言根据情节需要多次反复,给幼儿以深刻的印象。而反复所造成的节奏感、音韵感形成的声音则强烈地感染着幼儿。3.富于动作感

幼儿期的儿童主要是以具体形象性思维为主,但大多数幼儿还是保留了直觉行动性思维的特点。这一特点决定了他们对英语儿歌动作性的要求。在英语儿歌作品中,富于动感的语言能有效地唤起幼儿的注意,增强他们对内容的理解,通过五个手指的动作变化,“组合成生活中各种有趣的活动,节奏明快、富有动感的语言使幼儿念起来兴趣盎然。

正因为英语儿歌具有这些其他英语文学形式所不能比拟的独特特点,因此在幼儿园的英语教育中我们提倡用英语儿歌的形式进行教学,以此来陶冶幼儿的性情,开启他们的心智,从而促进幼儿英语听说能力的发展。

二、如何进行英语儿歌教学

要对幼儿进行英语儿歌的教学,首先要了解英语儿歌的分类。一般说来,英语儿歌没有固定的结构章法,随着时代的变迁,无论是民间流传下来的童谣,还是创作的儿歌,内容都在不断丰富,形式也多姿多彩。英语儿歌教学大致可分为分解歌词、编故事、问答歌和猜谜歌等几种。

1.分解歌词法

如果歌曲、童谣太长而且很难,可一节课只介绍一小节,分几节课系列介绍。

如果歌曲、童谣长但容易,可先将其分成几部分,再把学生分成相应的若干组,练习歌曲、童谣的不同部分,然后轮流表演。

在教授歌曲时,如果歌曲又长又难,且有合唱部分,可由教师演唱独唱部分,由学生练习合唱部。如果学生喜欢这首歌,他们会主动学习全部歌词。如:“Doe Re Me" 如果旋律较难,教师可先教旋律和节奏,只要求学生跟教师哼出曲调。渐渐地,他们会将歌词填入音乐并和教师一起演唱。

2.编故事法(适用于有一定英文水平的学生)

另一个有助于教授歌曲、童谣的技巧是“试试看”。选择一首歌或童谣中的关键词,打乱顺序,让学生听写。学生分成若干组.每组针对6—8个不同的关键词编一个小故事,词的顺序不限。其他组的学生猜故事中所给的关键词.之后,当教师介绍这首歌曲或童谣时,学生再听这些关键词,按照歌中的顺序,重新组合这些词。如教唱Three Blind Mice.3.分句唱法 这是一种传统的呼唤神灵或吟唱民谣的方法,也是最常用的教唱方法。一人带头(由教师充当)唱一句或一段,停片刻,学生重复唱一遍。旋律简单,节奏易掌握的歌曲、童用此方法教授效果很好。

4.数数歌法

数数歌是一种着眼于培养幼儿数概念的儿歌。它把初步的数学概念和具体可感的形象结合起来,能激发幼儿积极的思维,有效培养幼儿对英语数字的认识。数数歌中有的是帮助幼儿认识数字和掌握最基本的数的序列,还有的是着重于训练幼儿简单的计算能力,如边唱边算,起到了训练儿童思维敏捷、语言准确的作用。

各种形式的英语儿歌需要通过有效的教学方法来加以实施。英语儿歌教学实质上是教师为发展学前儿童的英语创设条件和提供机会,让幼儿参与各种丰富多彩的活动,在与人、物、环境、材料等的交互作用的过程中学习英语,发展听说的能力。幼儿园的英语教育在我国起步不久,理论的发展还远远不能满足实践的需要,更不要说有一套比较完整的方法体系。也是对幼儿如何开展英语儿歌教学所做的初步探索
