英语的音素分为元音和辅音两大类，由一个元音或一个元音加一个或几个辅音结合构成的语音单位叫做音节。例如：
由一个元音构成的音节：I /aI/“我”、oh / u/“哦”、a/eI，/“一个”、ear/I /“耳朵”等；由一个元音加一个辅音构成的音节： bee/bi:/“蜜蜂”、ill /il/“生病”、my/mai/“我的”、see /si:/“看见”等；
由一个元音加几个辅音构成的音节：bed /bed/“床”、bag/b g/“袋子”、clock /kl k/等。
英语的词有一个音节的，也有两个音节或三个音节以上的。顾名思义，一个音节叫做单音节，两个音节叫做双音节，三个或三个以上的音节叫做多音节。例如good /gud/只有一个音节，所以叫做单音节词；morning/`m :nI /分别有/m :n/和/I /两个音节，所以叫做双音节词；而afternoon /`a:ft `nu:n/有/a:f/、/t /、/nu:n/三个音节，所以，叫做多音节词。
在英语中，双音节或多音节的单词，每一个词都有一个读得特别响亮的音节，叫做重读音节，重读音节以重读符号“`”来表示。例如在evening /`i:vni /一词中，/i:/是重读音节。一般来说，只有一个音节的单词往往重读，但通常不标重读符号；双音节词和多音节词至少有一个音节重读，并在重读的音节左上方标出重读符号。
音节分为开音节和闭音节。以元音字母a 或 e, i, o, u结尾的音节叫做开音节，如nice, hi, hello, fine等都是以开音节结尾的单词；以辅音字母结尾的音节叫做闭音节，如meet, bed, what, wall, mom等都是以闭音节结尾的单词。
1.记单词的最好办法是什么？ 把一个单词造出多个句子，训练把这多个句子在场景下脱口说出。句子记住了，单词也当然得到了充分理解和长期记忆。
2.学习英语忌过分讲究速度和效率，不愿花时间经常重复（复习）已学过的内容。语言运用是一种技能，技能则只有靠熟能生巧，要不断重复才会熟练，只有熟练了才会形成一种不假思索的技能。
3.语言是有声的，我们对语言的感受首先是语言的声音作用于我们的大脑。如果不练习听力，只是默默地阅读和背单词，其结果不仅听不懂别人讲外语，而且阅读水平也难以提高。
4.语言的实践性很强，如果只学而不用，就永远也学不好。我们学语言的目的就是为了应用，要学会在用中学习，这样才能提高兴趣，达到好的学习效果。

1.单词的记忆。其实英语的学习历来都把单词的学习作为重点，初中也不例外。我们一定要记住，单词记忆切忌孤立的，单纯的背诵单词。我们中学最习惯的背诵方法就是背拼写，比如what这个单词我们一般都是这么背，w-h-a-t，这样只是记住了几个孤立的字母而并没有记住单词，我想过不了几天就会把这个单词忘掉。那么我们就要把单词放在一个整体或者环境中背诵，比如我们不如记住下面一句话：What is your name?(你的名字叫什么)那么我们就不容易忘掉了。也就是说我门每记一个单词都要相应的记住每一个用这个单词在内的一个例句，因为单词的意思只能在句子中体现，有意思我们才不容易忘掉，而孤立的无意思的不容易记住。另外记忆单词要利用一切可能的办法去记住，比如分类记忆：我们把动物的有关词汇放在一起，把有关校园的有关词汇放在一起，或者国家，食物，等等。当然我们的学生也可以利用谐音的方法自己编写些小段子记住单词。
2.语法的学习。初中是开始学习系统语法知识的重要阶段。这阶段语法学习好了，以后语法就会感到很轻松。首先应该明确是初中的时候我们学习的更多的是词法而不是句法，因为毕竟从简单开始吧，就算是中考题也基本上没有多少句法的题，所以初中一定要把重心放在词法上，就是名词，介词，冠词，代词，形容词等上面，而这些东西是最零碎的也是最头疼的，我们就更要有细心和耐心。建议每学习一个语法点，在学校教室里抄过一边笔记后，回家静下心来，再重新整理一遍笔记，去粗取精，这其实是回顾温习的过程，并且要做好分类，不同重要程度的或者难易程度的要用不同的颜色区别对待，并时常翻阅。
3.文章的学习。在学习文章前一定要预习老师即将要讲的内容，事先把自己认为比较难的单词语法和句子划出来，这样就可以有的放矢。课本上的文章一定要精度，不能说看懂了就可以，而是要把每一个重要的单词和句子都要吃透。同时对文章中的经典词汇和段落要记笔记，甚至要会背诵，为后面的写作打基础。加强英语学习，阅读是最重点，希望大家课下也要多读些课外文章。
4.写作的学习。写作学习请大家牢牢记住下面两句话。“读书破万卷，下笔如有神”，“熟读唐诗三百首，不会做诗也会吟”，强大的阅读功底是写出好文章的保证，只有输入的的多了才能输出的多，这也是我鼓励大家多读课外文章还有精读文章的原因。
初二英语学习从何处下手？
应从背单词做起，对于初二来说每个单词在知道读音的基础上，能做到看到英文知道什么意思，并且会拼写。可以每天规定背多少的单词（最好是刚学完的，剩下的有时间再捡），平均到一天背5-10个单词左右，让同学听写，是读汉语而不是读英语的那种，也可以将汉语或英语写在纸上，英汉互译。错的改几遍。每天必须保证目标的单词全部记下。在第二天背新单词前再考一遍，到周三或周四把前三四天的单词考一遍综合，周六考一遍后几天的综合，周日考一遍一周的综合。

音标不用刻意学，知道26个字母的基本发音就行了。每天早上跟着磁带读。当读的差不多时看着音标读，便慢慢知道了音标的大概读音。有兴趣和精力也可专门学一下音标，但这最好等英语成绩全面上升稳定后。读完了单词开始读课文开始是可以熟读，对于初二来说把重点课文背下来，默写。这样单词短语语法句型就大部分掌握了。
至于语法，应该从最基础的开始
