二、推荐信的内容

正文也是按照标准的英文正式文体格式，每段顶格写，段落之间空一行。

结尾的落款，首先是顶格写一句敬称，yours sincerely 或者 sincerely yours即可。然后写上推荐人的联系方式。下面给出一个最简单的例子： ours sincerely, rofessor xxx ice dean, school of physics eking university 注意，中间空了几行就是为了留给教授签名用的。教授的签名是凭他自己的习惯，有时候姓在前，有时候名在前，所以你的 professor xxx 中的名字一定要和签名一致。至于这个签名是英文还是中文，要看教授的习惯。一般要求用英文签名，如果教授习惯用中文，那可以用中文。

至于整篇推荐信的字体，要求统一，不要使用不同的字体。因为你有三封推荐信要写，所以你应该尽量使用不同的信纸，字体，字号，页边距等等，尽量使得三封推荐信的样式看起来各不相同。

要知道教授给你签推荐信是一个很繁琐的过程，一般来说一封推荐信需要 3 个签名：推荐信上一个，推荐表格上一个，信封上一个;然后还要在推荐表上签一个日期。你申请十几个学校的话，教授就要签 50 个左右的名字，是很累的。

如果你得到教授授权，可以自己代替教授签名，那你就模仿教授的笔迹签名好了，这样即使对方学校有疑问过来核实，由于教授给你授权了，学校也不会查出什么东西来。

有时候教授不愿意给你签很多的名字，而且你经常跑去找他签名也不好，毕竟不能总去麻烦教授。这个时候你还是自己模仿好了，随便拿几封推荐信让教授签了，后面的你全部自己代笔模仿。一般来说教授给你签推荐信的时候，是不会看你的推荐信是用在哪个学校的申请上的，所以即便是对方学校觉得你的签名不太对劲，来找教授核实，教授反正也不知道他的推荐信是用在哪些学校上面的，所以肯定回复说这是我写的。当然如果碰上上面说过的把推荐信连签名都复印再寄过来的情况就没办法了，你就直接去和教授解释一下吧。

多数学校都要求申请人提交两封到三封的推荐信，由教授、系主任或工作主管直接寄给指定的单位。

一、选择推荐人

推荐信是了解申请人的重要依据，在研究生课程中尤其如此。申请人可以选择现在或以前的老师、教授或雇主。推荐人必须熟悉学生的学习情况，了解学生的学习目的是否明确，在学术上是否有前途，以及学生的适应能力、创造能力、品行和特长。

书写推荐信的最理想的人选是一封由系主任写，一封由专业课教授写，一封由自己的导师写。不过，对方若无规定，则除了自己的亲属之外，任何人皆可为推荐人。推荐人一般应具备高级技术职称，如教授、副教授、研究员、副研究员等。如果推荐人在国内外学术界享有盛誉，或者被申请就读学校聘为客座教授，或者曾经在该校讲过学，那么这样的推荐人写的推荐信就具有很强的效力了。

二、推荐信的内容

推荐信一般应包括下列内容：

被推荐人的基本情况介绍。侧重于个人的毕业时间、学校、所获学位以及个人的专业经历。

推荐人对被推荐人的基本评价。侧重于被推荐人的专业基础、个性、特点、工作态度和在学术上的前途估计。若是推荐研究生，推荐人还需进一步说明其深造学习的基础和当前所具备的研究能力。显然，恰如其分地评价被推荐人的基础、能力和前途，比言过其实的赞誉更令人情服，更具有实际意义。

推荐人可以着重介绍被推荐人曾经获得的奖励，发表过的论文，参加过的重要学术会议，以及曾在学生组织或学术团体中的任职等来支持自己的评价。

推荐人还必须清楚地表明被推荐人留学的身份是研究生还是访问学者，专业领域和研究方向是什么。如果大学提供了现成的推荐表格，则必须按这类表格认真逐项填写。推荐表格中一般有学生综合评估的一项，即要求推荐人说明该生在所教的学生中应列为前5％，10％，或25％等。这种评估是指教授的个人评价，可以稍高一点。另外，推荐表格上常有许多难以填写的项目，遇到这种情形可填i dont know，亦不致对该生的评价有何严重影响。

如何写动机信

动机信大体分为三个部分，首先是开头做个简单的自我介绍和表明此封动机信的目的，注意要简单，明确，使老师读的时候一目了然。然后再做具体阐述说明，第二部分可以是一段，也可以再分段，但重点一定要突出。最后，就是表达一下心愿，期盼早日得到学校的回复。具体如下：

第一部分，做一个简单的自我介绍，学历背景，想要申请什么学校，什么专业。

其次开始介绍自身特点，有何特长，做过什么论文，参加过什么样的社会实习，学校活动，在活动中扮演过什么样的角色等等，要突出自己的优势，给老师最好的印象。

第二部分

1.是结合自己所学的专业，兴趣爱好或将来发展目标，或家庭背景等来说说为什么要选这个专业，所选的这个专业对自己将来的职业发展有什么帮助，对所学专业有什么兴趣，例如什么课程或项目的设置对你如何有帮助或能力提高等等。

具体以“为什么选择这个专业项目”为主题展开叙述。这就要求学生首先要对所选择的国家，学校，专业的背景情况都比较熟悉，熟悉自己所要申请的具体项目和课程内容。这样，结合自己的实际情况叙述时内容才能显得具体，丰富，针对性强，让审核老师看到时也能印象深刻。应对老师的面试时才能有的放矢，而不是讲空话，泛泛之谈。

2是个人的职业规划，将来自己想在什么样的领域，行业发展（可以具体到以后想去什么样的部门工作），此行业和领域必须是你现在喜爱或比较熟悉的领域，因为面试时老师会问到有关此职业发展的一些问题，如果对此行业不了解，会影响面试表现。

最后一部分为非常简洁的总结语，感谢老师的阅读，期盼能够来学校读书的愿望。

总之，老外的思维方式是比较直线式的，所以学生在做动机信的时候，不要用发散式的思维方式去书写动机信，切忌长篇大论，空谈，泛谈，结合自己的实际情况来说明自己为什么选择贵校的此专业，将来想到什么部门工作，专业对工作有什么帮助，外国老师不希望学生只是为了一张文凭才去读书的。
