看过《三星智力快车》或者李咏主持的《幸运52》节目的人都了解一种游戏:一个比划一个猜。就是两个人配合,一个人面对屏幕、另一个人背对屏幕,面对屏幕的来比划或者解释屏幕上出现的某种事物,背对屏幕的那个人则要根据同伴的解释或者比划猜出它的名称。我把这种游戏应用到了我们的英语课堂,目的是来提高学生运用英语来解释周围事物的能力和练习使用定语从句来进行描述的能力。我们第一次玩这种游戏,所以规定所猜的单词必须是教室范围以内的;游戏的组织比较简单,全班分几个小组,老师在屏幕上打上一个单词,然后由面对屏幕的同学用英语来进行解释,解释对了而且同伴答对了,加一分,如果使用定语从句进行解释,就再加一分;因为是比赛,所以进行的比较激烈,有两位同学在几分钟之内得了8分。

任务的设计要符合学生的实际情况。以上介绍的“任务一”比较适合初三学生,因为初三学生刚接触定语从句,教师可以用该任务引出定语从句的概念,并让学生学会正确使用关系代词。“任务二”比较适合高中学生,因为高中学生在初三时学习了定语从句,有了一定的基础;这个任务不仅能帮助学生正确使用关系代问和关系副问,而且更加强调表达的流畅性和准确性。
