离休证：Certificate of Emeritus
在我国，1949年10月1日解放前参加革命工作的老干部“到点儿”离开工作职位，称为“离休”，享受比普通退休人员更高的待遇。“离休”有人译为Retirement with Honor, Honorary Retirement或Glorious Retirement，不是不可以。但是“荣誉退休”、“名誉退休”这个概念，在英语里有专门的词汇，就是emeritus，专指有一定职级的公职人员（即领导干部）、有一定学衔的学术人员（如教授、传教士）的荣誉退休。个人认为“离休”译为emeritus比较好一点。
机关及事业单位干部退休证：Certificate of Retirement of Public Official（“机关及事业单位干部”译为cadre是可以的，但个人觉得比较别扭、“各色”，不如用比较普通一点的词public official即“公职人员”好一点。）
企业职工退休证：Certificate of Retiree from an Enterprise或者Certificate of Enterprise Retiree
退休证：Certificate of Retirement（退休事实的证明）或者Certificate of Retiree（退休人员身份证明），两种译法均可。
北京市规定，自2010年4月1日起，原机关及事业单位干部《退休证》、《企业职工退休证》统一合并为《北京市职工退休证》。既然没有区别了，就统一简单译为Certificate of Retirement即可，不必罗嗦。
各地的退休证种类、格式、内容都不尽相同。一般的退休证都有以下内容：
发证单位：Issuer
发证日期：Date of issue
姓名：Name
性别：Sex或者Gender
民族：Ethnicity（这里绝对不能译为Nationality，这是原则问题。）
籍贯：Ancestral native place（Native place一般是指出生地，而中文的“籍贯”实际是指父亲的出生地。）
出生日期：Date of birth
参加工作时间：Date of first employment
工作年限：Duration of Employment
原工作单位（退休单位）：Employer when retired
原职务（退休前职务）：Position when retired
退休时间：Date of retirement
