在法国,圣诞节的庆祝时间和方式各个地区也会有一些区别。大部分的地方12月25日圣诞节这一天是最重要的日子,但是在另一些地方圣诞长假里最为重要的日子是1月6日,主显节la fête des Rois,一些地方也叫为la fête de Saint Nicolas(注:在法国的某些地方主显节被定为1月的第一个星期天)。在法国东部和北部的一些地方,圣诞长假从12月6日就开始了。在里昂12月8日人们会过灯火节(la Fête des lumières),这一天里昂人会在窗台上放置点亮的蜡烛来表达对圣母玛丽亚的敬意。
小孩子这天会把鞋子放到壁炉前,希望圣诞老人 Père Noël(也叫 Papa Noël)会把里面埋满礼物。圣诞树上糖果、水果、坚果和小礼物会挂上整整一晚。不听话的小孩子这一天可要当心了,因为专门打不听话的小孩的屁股的 Père Fouettard这天晚上也会造访。现今在平安夜做子时弥撒(la Messe de Minuit)的人越来越少了,但它对于大多数的家庭来说它仍然是圣诞节很重要的活动。子时弥撒是纪念耶稣诞生的活动,通常圣诞大餐结束后人们会在家或者是一家通宵营业的饭店或是咖啡馆庆祝。
法国人除了最懂搞浪漫之外,也很重家庭温情,所以圣诞大餐都会与家人一起分享,而且非常着重气氛。餐桌上会铺上漂亮的桌布,中间摆放鲜花、蜡烛等作装饰,餐具也会选上等细瓷,配上银制刀叉和水晶杯。火鸡,鹅肉,法式白肠都是圣诞餐桌上的食物,法国人的圣诞大餐并没有太多特别的东西,通常只是把平常吃的东西做得更精致一些。圣诞树(sapin de Noël)是圣诞节的主要装饰品。圣诞树起源于14世纪的阿尔萨斯(Alsace),挂满苹果、小纸花、绸带等装饰物的圣诞树在1837年引入法国,此后每到圣诞节,它就会出现在每一个家庭、商店和工厂。法国人还会在圣诞马槽上装饰上漂亮的彩色小人,用来讲述基督诞生的故事。此外,圣诞节期间家家户户的门上还会挂上槲寄生,寄寓来年财源滚滚。

珞巴族新年习俗
珞巴族年节是按照自己的历法推定的。珞巴族的历法是一种依据月圆、月缺、月出、月不出以及季节转换规律归纳出来的。每月三十天,以月亮形状、出没时间来推算。每天用具体形象作标志。月圆月缺变化十二次为一年。一年内,再按生物活动、自然变化排出月的顺序,台一月份蛤蟆往江河、水渠中跳;二月份桃花落,“八卜”鸟叫;三月份“金嘎优”鸟叫等等。因珞巴族分布地区不同,节日的日期和名称也不一样。

九华山新年习俗
除夕进香
九华山居民吃过除夕团圆饭后,或看电视守岁、或娱乐,直至新年零点钟声敲响后,有的是全家出动,有的是家主代表,先洗脸漱口,燃放鞭炮、烟花,谓之“出行”;再将事先准备好的香、鞭炮、烟花带上到肉身宝殿(远处的则到附近寺庙)进香。进香途中,即使遇见熟人,也不言不语,进香完毕回家时方可相互招呼致意。除夕进香是为了祈求新的一年里平安如愿。据说若烧得第一柱香,最为吉祥。现已成为当地过年必具之习俗。
子会
信奉佛教的人集体朝山,人数满百人以上称“百子会”,两百人以上的为双百子会;不满一百人称小百子会。朝山者身众着灰上装、青裤、黄围兜上印有“朝山进香”字样,在香首带领下,步行上山,沿途敲锣唱赞、逢庙叩拜。大多在地藏王生日(农历七月三十日)活动最盛,素以能够在这天晚上赶到九华山肉身殿上通宵旦静坐“守塔”为荣。还有一些香客为亡故双亲上山敬香,他们身穿亡人的寿衣,以求得地藏王的印章祭祀亡灵为最大心愿,佛界神话说是持此印信,亡人在冥司有遍行无阻的特权。

傣族人民的新年,按照傣历大约是农历清明节以后的第七天。节日期间,傣族同胞举行热闹非凡的泼水、赛龙船、放高升活动。泼水活动是傣族人民过年的最高潮,也是傣历年中最精彩的场面,因而通常称做历年节为“泼水节“。
这一天,人们互相泼水,用水表达真诚的友谊,纯洁的爱情,心中的祝福。泼水有文泼水和武泼水之分。文泼水是对长者,舀起一勺净水,说着祝福的话,拉开对方的衣领,让水沿着脊梁流下去。被泼的人高兴地接受祝福,不得跑开。武泼水则没有固定的形式,用瓢、盆、桶都可以,互相追逐迎头迎脸地泼。被人泼的水越多,说明受到的祝福越多,被泼的人越感到高兴。

Custom: Worshiping the Kitchen God习俗:祭灶
As the legend goes, there is a kitchen god in each house who is responsible for the kitchen and oversees the conduct of the family.On this day, the kitchen god returns to Heaven to report the conducts of the family to the Emperor of Heaven.Therefore, worshipping the kitchen god aims to “please him.” People put out some sweet and sticky foods, such as rice dumplings and malted sugar.In this way, the lips of the kitchen god will stuck together, and he cannot report any wrong doings of the family.Thus the family can lead an auspicious life.民俗传说中,每家都有一位灶神掌管饮食,也记录一家人的言行。每年的腊月二十三,灶神要返回天庭汇报每家每户一年的大小事,所以祭灶的主题就是“拉拢灶神”。在厨房内摆放些又甜又粘牙的食物,如汤圆、麦芽糖,这样灶神的嘴被这些好吃的粘住后,就能少汇报些坏事,各家才能天降吉祥。

The times for pasting window paper are gone.Nowadays, the tradition is replaced by cleaning windows.Tofu is homophonic with “Toufu(first fortune of the year)”, so it is considered as a good food which brings happiness.纸糊窗户的时代已经过去了,所以如今的习俗已经被擦玻璃取代。而豆腐音同“头福”,被视为能够为新年带来福气的好食材。
