中考英语写作的常见题型有以下四种：
1、是根据所给标题写作，2、是根据英语情景提示写作，3、是根据英汉提示写作，4、是看图写作。
应用文是人们日常生活中广泛使用的文体。它最突出的特点是它的实际应用性，应用文包括很广，如书信、通知、日记、海报、便条（请假条）、启事、请柬、电报、合同等。应用文的语言应使用规范语言，重在实用，力求朴实、准确、简洁。
一、书信
书信我们分为两部分：信封和内容。
1、信封的写法。
英语信封正面的左上角，写发信人的姓名和地址。在信封的正面中央偏左一点，写收信人的地址和姓名。
英语信封上的地点名称由小到大，视其长短可占二至五行不等。
寄信人只写姓名，不写头衔。但是，收信人一般都在名字前加上头衔，以示礼貌和尊敬。对于没有官衔和学衔的人士，通常在姓名前写上Mr., Mrs.,或Ms.。
信封的写法，一般来说，很少出现在中考英语的作文中。
2、内容。
英文信一般可以分为下列几个部分。
1）信端（Heading）即写信人的地址和发信日期。
2）收信人姓名地址
3）称呼
4）信的正文
5）结束语
6）签名
有的时候，出题者会让考生写e-mail。e-mail的写法和书信的写法基本一致。只不过少了书信在信封上的繁琐。

整洁、干净是英语作文的第一印象，能不能得高分，和老师的第一印象有特别高的关系。
阅卷老师一天要批阅几百份试卷，根本没有时间细看的。看到试卷的第一眼，就是判断写的是不是干净、字体够不够漂亮，字数够不到多，其实内心已经给了一个印象分数。无论如何都要保持卷面干净，即使写错了一个字，就让它错下去，也不要涂改、删减。涂改影响美观，删减符号等于告诉老师，你写错了，老师会特别关注你的错误。当然，错误大的话，必须要删掉。所以在稿纸上草拟好要点在抄到卷面上就特别重要。如果你写的作文整洁、干净，你的英语书法又很漂亮，即使有一些语法错误也会得到不错的分数。附上三种英语书法练习。

套话
英语作文一定要使用套话，既能帮助拓展思维，让逻辑清晰，又能增加写作字数，让英语写作变得很简单。
套话通常指逻辑词和习惯表达。比如通常表达逻辑关系“第一、第二、第三、第四”等的表述有两种“first，second，third，finally”，以及 “first of all, in the second place, what is more”。无论使用哪一种都能告诉阅卷老师，这篇写作逻辑清晰。
书信中常用的“glad to receive you letter”“I am looking forward to hearing from you”等等。
真正有经验的阅卷老师会很注意这些逻辑连接词，因为这些词体现了这个文章的思路。所有，这些套话能赢得老师的好印象，感觉你的英语写作水平很高，分数自然也就低不下来。
使用套话的另外一个好处是大大增加了字数，让写作更容易。用“first，second，third，finally”有四个词，而用“first of all, in the second place, what is more”则有10个词。表达自己的看法时，即可以使用 “in my opinion”, 也可用“as far as I am concerned”前者用了 3个词，后者则翻了一倍，用了6个词。
善用套话，既能显示水平高，又能增加字数。写作何难之有?

实际上中考英语写作就等于两个字，翻译!
因为中考英语写作一般会给出几个要点，要求必须在文章中有所体现。文章写的再好，只要缺少要点就会扣分。所以要点写作一定不能绕过。
任何题型的英语作文都可以用翻译技巧整理出要表达的要点，然后填充到三段论和套话组成的模式中去。
虽然英语写作提示一再要求不要翻译，那只是暗示你不要翻译成毫无意义的短语，没有说不可以翻译成意义完整的句子!
理解要点——翻译要点——扩充句子——写作整理，就是内容不丢分的四大步骤

发言稿正文常分为三部分：
第一部分：开门见山地提出本人要谈的问题及对问题的看法

第三部分：照应开头，总结全文。可以对全文作简明扼要的总结，也可以谈自己的感想、看法或期望。常用到的句式有：In short…,In a word, I think, I expect等
因为高考试题在命题形式上侧重于考查发言稿正文的写法。所以写正文时要注意以下三点：
观点要鲜明。对问题持有什看法，要明确表态，不要含糊其辞。要中心明确，重点突出，但不必面面俱到。
条理要清晰。一篇发言稿要谈几方面的问题，每一方面有那些要点要进行阐述，都要安排得有条有理，让人听起来容易抓住重点。
适当增加关联词和细节。发言稿开头于结尾已经给出。那么在命题形式上侧重于考查发言稿正文的写法，所以我们在根据要点组织正文内容时，可以适当增加关联词和细节，以使短文连贯、完整。
语言要简洁明快，发言时因为要直接面对听众，所以发言稿的特定形式决定了其语言的口语性强，因此应少用复杂句，多用简单句。话说的要准确、易懂，最好运用大众语言。所以我们在组织句子时要注意“三多一少”即简单句式多，祈使句多、情态动词多，修饰性词语少。但文中的句型也要善于变化，不要过于单一。
