能力倾向测试的目的不是检查应试者的现有英语水平,而是判断应试者学习语言的禀赋或潜在能力,因而又称为“语言禀赋测试”。测试的内容不应是应试者所学的知识,而是应试者的智能,如学习英语所需要的敏感性、模仿力、记忆力、观察力以及逻辑推理、分析比较、综合归纳等思维能力。

2.学习动机

动机是一种驱策力量,是愿望改变行动的动力。动机指向目标、需求,它反映个体的某种需求;动机也指向行动,它为获得需求、满足而产生行动。动机越强烈,发起行动就越坚决,维持行动就越长久。所以,动机对英语学习是至关重要的。没有个体的学习愿望和毅力,就不可能产生真正的学习。3.直接法

直接法就是直接教外语的方法。“直接”包含三个方面的意思:直接学习、直接理解、直接应用。它通过外语本身进行的会话、交谈和阅读来教外语,而不用(学生的)母语,不用翻译和形式语法。第一批词的词义是通过指示实物、图画或演示动作等讲解的。这个方法的最终目的,是要培养学生在交谈、阅读或写作时都用外语思维。

4.认知法(The Cognitive Approach)

认知法是在以Chomsky为代表的转换生成语法和Caroll的任知心理学的理论基础上产生的。这种方法从学生已知的知识出发,通过学习和分析,对语音、词汇和语法的形式获得有意识的控制,并在有意识的情景中培养语言的交际能力。这种教学方法的理论重视人的思维作用,把语言学习看作是智力活动,重视对语言现象的理解,着眼于培养实际运用语言的能力。因此,认知法也称为“认知—符号学习理论”(The Cognitive-Code Learning Theory)。

5.模拟交际性操练
