I ‘ll do extra chores for as long as you say, I’ll do anything ,but I need that basket,I love that basket.Please ,Mom.Please?”

那是夏天的一天,我的妈妈开车带我去一个自行车店修理一个轮胎---就在橱窗里,那个用鲜花装饰的,白色的闪闪发光的塑料车筐向我眨眼,我知道,我就知道我必须拥有它。

“它很好看”,当我把它指给我妈妈看的时候,她说:“多么秀气的一个车筐”。

一开始我努力抵挡住它的诱惑,我假装若无其事了一会。但是我想我当时实在是忍不住了,我说:“妈妈,我可不可以拥有它?我可以多做家务,只要你说做多久就做多久,我什么都可以做。我只想要那个车筐,我太想它了,求你了,妈妈。”

我不顾一切了。

当我们两人都目不转睛的看着这个我认为世上最酷的东西时,她轻轻抚摸着我的后背说“你要知道,如果你攒钱的话,你就可以买它了”。

“等我攒够钱了,它就不在了。”

就这样我们的攒钱计划开始了。我的妈妈买下了这个漂亮的车筐,把它安全的藏在一个隐蔽的地方。每周我都急切地数着通过做额外家务不断积累的资金(洗车,帮妈妈做饭,用我那前面没有车筐看起来光秃秃的自行车投递并取东西)。于是,几周后,我数了数钱,数了又数,我开心的跳起来。多么开心的一天啊!我终于攒够了我和妈妈当初说定的钱。

几天后,不可想象的事情发生了。一个和我玩过无数次的邻居女孩骑着她那个闪闪发光的新自行车出现在我面前,她的自行车面前安装着和我的自行车一模一样花俏装饰的车筐。我艰难又快速地骑车回家,告诉妈妈这个不幸的事,这个糟糕的出乎意料的转变。

于是就有了这个教诲。这个我一直谨记的人生教诲:“亲爱的,你的车筐是独一无二的,”妈妈说,温柔的擦去我的眼泪。“你的车筐是特别的,因为它是你自己挣钱买来的”。
