个性是指一个人整个的心理面貌,是经常出现的、比较稳定的心理倾向性和非倾向性特征的总和。个性包括相互联系的两个部分:其一,个性倾向性,即心理过程的倾向性,指个人对客观事物的意识倾向性,包括兴趣、爱好、态度、需要、动机、信念、理想、世界观等。其二,个性非倾向性心理特征,即心理过程的特征,主要包括气质、能力和性格。个性具有社会性、组合性、独特性、稳定性、倾向性、整体性等特征。

第一,有利于我们有效地吸收西方的管理理论和经验。研究表明,日本与美国的文化传统反差强烈,双方若直搬对方的成功经验都难以取得较好的效果。因此中国的现代化建设只能结合本国文化特点,有选择地吸收和消化外国的管理理论和经验。
第二,有利于促进改革开放,进一步改善投资的软环境。首先,不同的价值观就会造成人们管理行为上的差异。在国际市场中,为了让外国人理解中国人的交换行为,同时让中国人理解外国人的行为,就需要对东方文化和西方文化认真研究,找到使组织在开放环境中生存和发展的恰当方式。
