如何训练初中生的英语听力

应试教育体制下的英语教学一直停留在书本知识的讲解上,重视单词的拼写,语法的正确,句子结构的完整等,不重视英语的实际应用,这首先就违背了英语作为一项交流工具的宗旨。随着新课标和素质教育的不断推进,听力改革也在悄悄进行,它改变了传统的听单词选句子等比较机械的题型,变为对话或短文理解,侧重语境的考查。基于新课标的这一要求,听力训练与测试越来越受到重视。笔者在教学当中指导学生在进行听力训练时,采取了以下措施,仅供参考。

一、大声朗读

听力能力的提高是一个长期艰苦的过程,它在很大程度上依赖于良好的阅读习惯。所以,要想提高听力,首先要勇敢地不怕羞地大声朗读。通过朗读,一方面校正读音,获取大量词汇、语段方面的信息;另一方面增强听的敏感性,从而培养良好的语感,促进听说能力的协调发展。

二、眼疾耳聪手快

听力考试一般在试卷发下后五分钟之后进行。学生应该充分利用这段时间快速浏览试题,比较容易混淆的单词和短语,分析所提问题,猜测短文内容,以减少盲目性的听,更不能因为太随意而错过得分机会。在听力考试中,应随时准备听录音,经过分析、过滤,快速地将思维结果写下,争取更多的时间准备下一题。

三、抓主题句和信息词

短文内容较多,听清楚或是听懂全部内容比较难,同时完全准确记住全部信息也不容易做到。因此,在听录音过程中,要抓住文章的主题句,听清文章开头和结尾的一、两句话,因为开头句与结尾句常常是主题句。如果主题句位于句首,那么,接下来文章就会用演绎法,将观点展开、论述。反之,如果主题句在结尾,文章一定会先陈述论点、论据,最后得出结论――文章的主题。第二遍针对所提问题,有重点的听,核实上次所听的准确性,以及做一些较难的综合题。把听记的内容与试卷上所阅读的内容结合起来,排除干扰项,进行选择,找出最佳答案。

一些连接短文各个句子、表明上下逻辑关系的词,对理解短文非常重要。抓住这些词,对于下文会讲什么内容、能解答什么问题就会心中有数,对短文逻辑关系就会更清楚。这些词大致可分为四类:

1.起顺接作用的词,即起并列、递进、例示作用的词。如:and,also,in,addition,for example等。

2.起逆接作用的词,即表明下面的内容和上面内容发生了转折的词。如:but,however,in spite of,on the contrary等。

3.表示因果关系的词,如:because,since,as a result等。

4.表示短文层次和先后关系的词。如:first,second,last,before,after,then,accordingly等。

四、适当的记录

学生在预览选项之后,大体已预测到题目的要求。在听录音过程中,第一遍集中精力听短文,捕捉问题信息,可适当做速记和笔记,把有关事实、数据记下来。在听录音过程中,应带着预测的问题去听,减少盲目性,有的放矢。第一遍录音就要争取听懂内容,听清问题;结合卷面内容,连贯地将短文内容听完,千万不能停下来去想未听清的词,不必对每个单词或每个句子过分注重,而影响整体的注意力和理解力。力求基本理解短文,还应根据卷面问句提示去听记(听写速记)短文的关键词和核心内容。

五、学会推断及对文章的整体理解

记录和抓住信息词是听力考试中不可缺少的。但是,有些题目的作答,不仅需要事实,而且要根据这些明示信息和录音在字里行间进行综合推断。这类题目比明示信息题目难得多。要根据上下文推测词义,猜测作者意图,对短文做深层理解。大部分的词都是根据上下文来体会理解的,也就是说理解词汇是不能脱离实际语境的,而作者的意图往往是通过词汇的运用表现出来。另外,语气也比较重要,它们都可以显示出作者对事件的看法,甚至把一些深层次的意思通过词汇的运用表达出来。在听力训练中要多注意说话人所处的环境、时间、说话内容以及文化背景、生活习惯、价值观念等,只有这样才能对文章中的词汇有更深的理解,才能对没有学过的词加以推测。

注意对文章的整体理解是考查学生对整篇文章大意的理解,也可以说是对文章进行一个全面性的评价或做出结论。我们在做完题目后,可做一些检查。在检查过程中,应注意文章是否前后一致、语气连贯,并且内容充分,尽量避免于扰项的影响。

六、重视积累

积累既指扩大词汇量,为听力扫除障碍,也指熟悉英美国家的文化背景、生活习惯,掌握各种交际语言及有关常识,避免在做情景反应和句子理解时犯一些低级错误。

七、该放则放,该抓则抓

做听力练习时有一种不良倾向,即听完一段对话,不听后面提的问题,而将自己想象的问题加以回答并将答案即刻填在试卷上,等到发现错了再改时已没时间了,于是便出现了焦虑心理状态,越听越听不到信息。因此要在听到相关问题后再作答,消除隐患。一旦出现上述情况,要做好记号当即放弃,待做完余下的题目后再来更正。

总之,多做同步听力训练,多听有声读物,相信学生不仅能顺利通过听力考试,而且能运用英语创造更加美好的生活。

浅议初中生英语听力障碍及训练策略

现代英语学习由听、说、读、写、译五个方面组成,而要做到会说、会读、会写、会译,其前提是必须要会听。学会听、学好听是掌握英语这一语言的前提与基础。当前,学生在学会听方面仍存在很多不足,这已影响到学生对现代英语的掌握。由此,本文主要探讨一下初中生存在的听力障碍以及解决的对策。

一、初中生在英语听力方面的障碍

1.语音障碍。发音不准,辨音能力差,造成听力障碍。语音障碍包括语音、语调、朗读习惯等几个方面。正确的语音、语调是听好、听准的前提,尤其是一些发音接近、易混淆的音素。

2.词汇障碍。单词拼写不准,词汇量不足,造成听力障碍。学生英语词汇量的多少、掌握的熟练程度、一词多义和同音异义的现象,都对学生的听力理解造成一定影响。

3.语法障碍。语法知识是帮助我们正确理解有声材料的必备条件,为我们正确判断动作发生的时间、动作的执行者或承受者以及虚拟等情况提供必要的依据。语法知识掌握不扎实,识别能力差,造成听力障碍。对于所学的时态、语态、句子结构、主从句等语法知识掌握不好,不能活学活用,势必造成学生不能正确理解听力材料的含义。

4.心理障碍。听力理解的过程也是一个较复杂的心理活动过程。心理学家告诉我们,当人的情绪处于紧张焦虑的状态时,就会产生恐惧心理,从而使原来可以听懂的内容也大打折扣。心理紧张主要出现在测试或大型考试中,由于求胜心切,又怕不适应考试的内容和语速,心里总感到被动、无把握,从而产生过度紧张的心理。结果是越想听懂越听不懂,越听不懂心理越紧张,脑子出现暂时的空白,造成“一步跟不上,步步跟不上”的被动局面。这种情况下不要说几分钟,哪怕几秒钟,对信息的摄入也会出现断层,导致无法正确理解所听材料。

5.听力习惯障碍。听的目的就是弄懂所听材料的基本思想,在 1

听后的过程中关键是尽力理解全文的主要内容。初中生学习英语的时间还不长,部分学生听力理解过程中存在不良习惯,力图把每个词、每个句子都听懂,遇到一时不理解的单词或句子时,就停下来思索,无疑就跟不上语速了。还有一部分学生不能直接用英语理解听力材料,而是借助于中文,中间经历了一个“心译”过程,这些不良习惯是会影响听力理解的。

二、提高初中生英语听力能力的训练策略

1.注重语言知识的传授

首先,要认真教好音标,严格把好音标关。学好音标是学好英语的前提。音标基础的好坏决定了语音、语调的好坏,若使初中生人人打好语音基础,对提高学生的听力水平无疑会起到事半功倍的效果。

其次,扩大学生的词汇量,掌握短语和固定用法以及语法知识。听力是听和理解能力的总和,没有一定的词汇量和语法结构的敏感性是很难听得懂的。因此在平时英语教学中,让学生多做听写练习,由词到句,由句到篇,由易到难,循序渐进,逐步提高,积累丰富的词汇量;让学生广泛阅读各种题材的文章,背诵一些惯用语固定短语,扩大词汇量,为提高听力打下扎实的基本功。

语法是一个句子的命脉,语法结构是句子的框架,熟悉掌握语法知识有助于学生正确理解所听内容。因此要帮助学生过好词汇、语法关。语法只能在平时学习过程中熟记,分类总结。比如:make, let, help等动词后面是加do的。finish, enjoy, practice等动词后面是加doing的。forget, want, need等词后面是加to do的。熟记了这些规则,在做听短文填词时,自己可以自查了,这样准确率肯定会高一点。

2.注意学生良好心理素质的培养

在听音过程中心态的调整很重要,心理紧张容易导致对所听信息的摄入出现断层,从而导致无法正确理解所听材料。所以培养学生良

好的心理素质,增强学生的自信心,保持平静放松的心态答题,才能准确把握信息,提高听力效果。遇到听不懂的单词或句子,要舍得放弃。听时,注意力要集中到内容上而不是语言上,在大意上而不在细节上。在平时的听力教学过程中,教师给学生创造一个轻松、和谐的气氛,努力消除学生因害怕、焦虑而产生的心理障碍,并不失时机地向学生介绍与听力材料有关的背景知识,如英美国家的历史、地理、文化、习俗等,这不仅可激发学生听的兴趣,还可帮助学生正确理解听力内容。

3.培养学生正确的听力习惯

训练学生听力要与日常教学结合在一起,在课堂教学中,教师要尽量要用英语组织教学,这是听力训练教学的出发点,也是最有效的听力训练方法。其次,在课时安排上,可充分利用课前 5 分钟或每节课的复习时间,让学生听一些有关材料,作为“热身运动”或者利用课堂教学结束前数分钟安排训练听力。第三,在内容选择上,充分挖掘并利用教材中的听力材料,不要轻易放弃;在内容的呈现上,应遵循听、说、读、写教学顺序,做到先听后说,先说后读,先读后写;或者把教材中的内容改成听力材料。第四,与课本配套的同步听力以及练习册、目标测试中的听力练习等,更是要坚持随着教学进行训练。除此以外,教师在课堂上还应该有计划、有步骤地训练学生掌握一些单项听力技巧,例如:要教会学生在听的过程中抓重点、要点;学会预测,培养良好的听力习惯,甚至还要培养学生在听的过程中学会放松情绪,培养听的兴趣。

英语听力理解能力不是单项能力,不是一蹴而就,而是一个日积月累,相当复杂的过程。作为老师,我们应该不断地去研究、去总结,不断完善自己的听力教学方法。

【内容摘要】听力是外语学习的基础。但现状表明:学生在英语学习上,听力能力大大低于该学科的其他能力。他们的语音辨别能力低;语流的连贯能力弱;词义的语境判断差;猜字的技能技巧低;口音辨析能力差;主要内容抓不住;重要信息抓不牢;正确的习惯没养成;背景知识狭窄等等。要克服这些障碍,要求教师采用正确的策略和方法。因此,本人认为教师应从课堂教学中的有意学习、课余时间的无意学习、阅读对听力的促进作用和加强考试时听力技巧指导四方面对初中生进行英语听力训练。

听,是语言的基础;听力,是语言学习的前提。中学英语教学大纲中把听说教学放在教学法的首位,强调听说英语是英语教学的重要目的之一,也是有效的手段之一。初中生的英语听力训练,是初中英语教学的一个重要环节。在教学中要注意根据初中生的生理心理特点和认知水平,设计多种方法,通过多种途径对学生进行听力培养。因此,我在教学实践过程中采用了以下具体做法,现在重点就以下几个方面进行介绍:

一、注意在课堂教学中的有意学习。

1、教师应用英语组织课堂教学。

训练学生的听力要与平时的教学紧密结合,充分利用每节课的时间让学生多得到听的机会,以弥补由于缺乏英语环境而造成的接触机会不足。除了使用英语课堂用语外,如问候,指示,解释练习的步骤,纠正错误,表扬等,还要用英语简单地解释词汇含义和用法、句型结构和语法现象等,初中教材中有不少简单易用的词法、句法和语法用语。此外,教师还可以利用教材中的词汇、句子、句型和习惯表达法等进行英语组织教学,使学生易懂,注意力集中,以产生学习兴趣,在潜移默化中提高他们的听力水平。

2、教师应用英语引导学生进行知识学习。

将所学课文进行支离破碎的语言讲解和句子分析,不利于学生理解和运用语言知识。教师应把课文作为一个整体来教,用听说贯穿整个课文教学过程、既可以提高学生的英语听说能力,又能营造课堂的英语气氛,激发学生的学习兴趣。学生在教师引导下学习生词、理解课文,做口头回答问题练习、听课文录音、复述段落或课文等。这样便能使以听为基础的听、说、读贯穿于整个课堂。

3、教师应开展积极的课堂听写训练。

听写是训练听力能力的一种好手段,它对促进学生语言能力的全面发展很有帮助,因

为学生既要能听懂又要能用文字记录下来,是需要具备听力、拼写和句型结构等技能和知识的。听写的方式可以是填词,写课文的句子、段落或课文改写、缩写等。书面表达的参考答案也可以作为听写的形式,在讲评书面表达后,让学生听写参考答案,既练听又练写,这等于让全体学生按范文重新写了一遍、更加深了讲评和纠错的印象。但听力训练必须循序渐进,不会也不可能一蹴而就。

二、注意课余时间的无意学习;

听是人们在交际中获取信息的主要手段;听是形成英语语言能力的重要组成部分。从事语言教育的工作者都知道,语言教学应由听着手,而听,需要有一个语言环境。英语教学是语言教学的一种,自然也要有一个英语会话的语言环境。如果只在课内45分钟的语言环境内学习,是不够的,会有不少学生听不清、听不懂,因此,需要学生利用平时琐碎的时间,自觉增设语言环境。例如,利用早上和中午的20分钟来听,这样有个好处,就是能一边干其它的事,一边听。如果学生能充分利用每天早晨的时间,无意识地听,无意识的接受语言信息,便能在平时生活中创造额外的英语语言环境,使学生在无意识中接触英文环境、接受英语知识。但在课余时间的听力训练当中,教师应注意听力材料的多样性,这样有助于让学生在无意识的情况下,习惯正常的语速、语调。因此,学生听力不仅可以听教材内容,还可听课外其他材料。不仅可听对话、短文,还可以听故事、歌曲、电影、新闻等。不仅可以听录音带,还可听广播、电视、影碟等。这种在无意识状态下接受语言知识的学习方法能营造良好的语言环境,使学生节约大量的时间,且取得不错的学习效果。

三、注意阅读对听力的促进作用。

尽管阅读和听力两种训练形式不同,但它们同属于接受性和理解性的语言实践过程,二者有很大共性。教师可以让学生阅读和听力材料相关的内容,也可以将阅读作为听力练习的辅助方法,大量地阅读小说、杂志、网络文章、新闻报道等学生感兴趣的内容。阅读是积累词汇的最有效的方法之一。通过阅读可以进一步提高听力能力,因为,阅读是一种主要的语言输入来源,它不但增加了学生接触语言的机会,还丰富了他们对英语国家的文化知识和社会背景的了解,而且在大量的阅读中拓宽词汇量,这些都对听力理解无疑是十分重要的。阅读量越大,英语整体水平就越高,听力水平也会随着“水涨”而“船高”。所以善于积累各种知识,对语言学习也是相当有益的。

四、加强考试时听力技巧指导。

1、做好准备,锻炼预测能力。这点实际上要求我们在听力考试前的2分钟内,首先安定好自身情绪,集中精力,轻松愉快地做好训练前的一切准备,尤其是心理准备,接着在听力材料播放前,以常态的心情去读听力材料的选项,尤其是第一、第二题的内容,以使自己头脑中有个清晰的信息筛选概念,这时,可以让学生对即将要听到的内容进行预测,因此,它是听力理解过程中的重要一环。它在理解口头语言中起着举足轻重的作用。这种带着问题听录音,有利于学生快速地对所听信息与头脑中已获取的其他的干扰信息进行对比,从而能有效快捷地做出准确的信息判断。

2、保持良好的心态,该放手时就放手。在听力训练时,凡遇到前面有听不懂的地方,不必惊慌,心里不必对此过多牵挂,一定要保证自己集中听好后面的内容,力保后面的对话或独白中的内容及有效信息能听得懂,可以进行正确的信息筛选。不然的话,学生在听后面的对话内容时,自己心里还在想着前面没听懂的内容,那么此时学生内心方寸必然大乱,无法集中精力去捕捉后面应该获得的信息,以致丢了芝麻又丢西瓜,得不偿失。

3、把握信息,适当做笔记。较长的对话或独白所涉及的内容较多,尤其一些关键词语往往较易混淆,即使听得清楚听得准,但是由于材料信息量较大,该记的东西较多,过后便没能准确地回忆起来,如表示时间、日期、年龄、价格、距离的数字,或是地名、人名等。这时可以用笔在试卷的空白处以阿拉伯字或符号的形式记下,做到笔不离纸,以便加深印象,这样做有助于判断、选择正确答案。

4、学会用英语思维。听力考试中,有些同学缺乏正确的习惯,他们往往先将听懂的东西译成汉语,用汉语进行思维理解,缺乏用英语直接思维的习惯。这时要求我们用英语思维充分利用已听懂部分的内容和信息,积极发挥合理的想象力、推理能力去估计和预测自己没听懂的内容或遗漏的信息是什么。

听力教学既是一种语言学习,又是一种技能培养。在“听、说、读、写”四种技能中,“听”是语言的输入过程,是人们交际活动的基本形式,是获取语言信息的主要途径,是提高其它技能的基础。亚里山大说过,“掌握一种语言,首先是听懂,听懂的比重占有90%,能听懂才觉得舒服,听不懂就觉得不自在。” 心理学测试也表明,人们通过视听觉所获取的知识占全部知识的80%以上。听的能力在英语四项能力(听、说、读、写)中也是排在首位,只有听准、听清楚、听明白即听懂了,才能模仿得准、模仿得清楚,才能说得准确、清楚明白、说得好。因此,在整个初中英语教学阶段,教师要尽可能地为学生创造良好的语言环境,要尽量帮助学生多听多练,让学生在充足的“听”的语言量中学习英语。
