Passage 1

Body language, especially gestures, varies among cultures. For example, a node of the head means “yes” to most of us.But in Bulgaria and Greece a node means “no” and a shake of the head means “yes”.Likewise, a sign for OK, forming a circle with our forefinger and thumb, means zero in France and money in Japan.Waving or pointing to an Arab business person would be considered rude because that is how Arabs call their dogs over.Folded arms signal pride in Finland, but disrespect in Fiji. The number of bows that the Japanese exchange on greeting each other, as well as the length and the depth of the bows, signals the social status each party feels towards each other.Italians might think your bored unless you use a lot of gestures during discussions. Many American men sit with their legs crossed with one ankle resting over the opposite knee. However, this would be considered an insult in Muslim countries, where one will never show the sole of the foot to a gust.Likewise, Americans consider eye contact very important, often not trusting someone who is afraid to look at you in the eye.But in Japan and many Latin American countries, keeping the eyes lowered is a sign of respect. To look apart in the eye is considered a sign of ill breeding and is felt to be annoying.Q16: What gesture do Bulgarians and Greeks use to express negative responses? Q17: What is likely to offend Arab business people? Q18: What is considered impolite in Muslim countries?

What is the main idea of the passage? What can we learn from this passage? What is the best title for this passage? What is the passage mainly about? What is the speaker talking about?

Which of the following is true/not true, according to the passage? Which of the following is not mentioned?

What can be infer from the passage? What does the speaker think about the problem...? What does the speaker most concerned about? How does the writer feel about...?

Hi, Susan! You’re looking very smart today. I always look smart, James.Actually I’m on my way to a job interview. Actually I’m on my way to a job interview,这个事就解释清楚了。 Yeah, there is only two weeks to go, I’ve got a second interview with that big foreign accountancy firm in the city center.。 Where will Susan probably get a job?

The record is just helping out with the data input. 紧接着话锋一转,男的说if they take you on, tell them you have a friend who’d be really good too.,如果他们要是录取你的话,一定告诉他们你还有一个朋友特别擅长这事,这个男也要找工作。 I really need the money and the experience will look good on my resume. Why does James want the job in that company,他为什么想在这个公司也获得一个工作,因为他需要钱,而且the experience will look good on my resume。

Ok, we’ll do.If the boss likes me, I’ll mention it I’ll phone you afterwards. It will be good to have someone around who I know. Right perhaps you should put in an application anyway. ? I have my dad’s car today and have nothing to do this morning.

By the way, how is your knowledge of accountancy? The interviewer may ask you about it.The interviewer面试官会问你关于会计的事情。 I think I can survive. Maybe you can give me a practicing interview first.

比如当你听到“What you say if i buy your some hamburgers after the lecture.“当我们听到这句话时,我们会翻一下白眼然后再想,他到底在说什么。

scale

天平

stale

omit

省略
